Scrapnaut

Scrapnaut

Very interesting game, it got me up until content ending. As an unfinished product it’s perfectly understandable that a lot of work is needed to make it a polished jewel.

For now, I can say it’s fun and beautiful, no bugs seen during my gameplay, and it’s visible that devs are careful and partners of players. I hope that it keep going like that and next time I play it will develop from very good to fantastic.

My tips for devs are:

  • You could vary terrain height to make it more visually interesting.

Blockland

Blockland

I have been playing this game for 10 years now, and this is my attempt at an actual, objective based view of Blockland.

When it comes to gameplay, Blockland is what I consider to be the best lego-based sandbox building game to ever be released. theres no strings attached. you click “start a game” and you are almost immediately thrown into a blank slate and are free to build whatever you want, however you want, when you want. Whatever brick, item, or vehicle is not provided by default, the community’s faithful addon creators have provided for you. Blockland also comes with a intuitve and dynamic eventing system which allows you to assign functions to bricks. This game also supports gamemode functionality. You can host freebuilds, deathmatches, treasure hunts, and even community created gamemodes such as falling tiles, jailbreaks, drawing games, parties, development servers, RPGs, and more.

Due to this game’s hard-coded limitations, the concept could only be taken so far. But, considering the base technology that it runs on (old Source engine, I think?) Eric and the gang did a great job with this game.

I have many happy, sad, beautiful, ugly, and downright crazy memories playing it. I wouldn’t trade any of them for the world.

I would say, as cheesy as it might sound, that the experiences that this game gave me really did shape me as a person, and is jointly responsible for who I am today. I’m not kidding. Many may feel the same way.

Construction Simulator 2015

Construction Simulator 2015

My take on Con Sim 2015

PROS:

  1. The multiplayer aspect, WHEN(and I can’t stress that enough) you have decent people who aren’t just there to crash into things and wreck your experience, is a LOT of fun. I dig the sense of accomplishment when you and 3 buddies have worked for 2-3 hours on something and finally finish it. Some of the late game jobs can take quite a while from start to finish, which is nice, but can be tedious.

  2. The complexity of some of the machines is quite engrossing IE: the concrete pump; mobile crane; tower crane, just to name a few. The overall detail of the machines is quite decent, this coming from working in the industry and seeing these machines on a daily basis.(To be fair, that’s in Canada, so I’m referring to the North American counterparts; JD; CAT, etc etc.)

TL:DR: This game is good if you like complex machine-driving simulators. Driving controls can be a little shifty in the small vehicles, but are passable in the bigger vehicles - and that’s most of them. Graphics are very good and performance wise the game runs well for a DirectX 9 game, but it does hit the GPU hard (which is normal for DX9 games). For the most part the game will happily run at 60 fps, but in the central city and when it’s saving and loading the performance will drop and when you have multiple projects running it can get rather stuttery.

Construction Simulator 2 US - Pocket Edition

Construction Simulator 2 US - Pocket Edition

Unpopular opinion, I give this game a Recommendation.

Pros:

  • If you have CS2015, $5.99 USD for a game that’ll keep you busy for a bit isn’t bad.

  • Amazing Light Blooms

  • CATERPILLAR.

  • Huge playable Area.

Cons:

  • $11.99 USD if you don’t have CS2015…. Wtf.

  • The Mobile addition is $4.99 USD. On the Google Play Store. Prices May Vary.

To the Developers:

  • Only 10 Vehicles active gets VERY ANNOYING.

the game runs perfectly fine for me, The sounds are very good. I have waited since Construction Simulator 2015 to finally drive a Backhoe in the game and now i can. I really do hope you continue to add Backhoes to your games, Especially the next big title you release on PC, they’re fantastic.

I would recommend playing the game with a Controller though, I am using an Xbox 360 controller and it works perfectly fine, the improved graphics options are well recieved. The controls are very intuitive with the controller, i didn’t try to play with a keyboard though.

Firing Vibes

Firing Vibes

Firing Vibes is a 2 vs 2 multiplayer FPS that combines heavy vertical gameplay with a little bit of rhythm.

Instead of classical weapons like assault or sniper rifles in Firing Vibes you choose a melody. And each melody provides a unique damage pattern. Some melodies are quicker or slower in their rhythm, that leads to different types of gameplay.

Set in a minimalistic Scifi world. Your character has two special skills which allow to go about everywhere and master the fully vertical environment. The first one is a unique climbing ability enabling you to move on walls as easily as if you were on the ground. The second is the ability to spawn cubes and walls and create new pathways.

KEY FEATURES

  • 2 vs 2 Online Multiplayer - Dedicated servers in Europe, North America and East Asia (and more later).

  • Shoot with music - Your only weapons are music based lasers.

  • Create news pathways - Spawning or destroying cubes helps you to move through the level in new and interesting ways.

  • Climb everywhere - Your climbing ability combined with the cubes you can place make you free to go about everywhere you want.

Lumberjack’s Dynasty

Lumberjack’s Dynasty

The weirdest thing about Lumberjack’s Dynasty – in a very long list of strange things – are the overheard snippets of conversation as you approach the game’s various NPCs.

As you round the crest of a hill you might eavesdrop on a neighbour muttering something about how “everyone is talking about it”.

Stroll up the drive of your aunt’s house and she’ll be whispering “yes, it will all be out in the open soon” to your uncle, before they both stop mid-conversation and slowly rotate on the spot like a pair of rotisserie chickens to face you.

First good stuff: I started playing Lumberjack’s Dynasty about 2 weeks ago. When I started a new game I loved the intro and the starter story of the game. The game shows you everything you need to know. I love the graphics and the settings for the game. They are easy to set up and understand. The game gives you a lot of things to do from reasing different animals, cutting down trees, mowing the grass, talk with different people, cook and so on. I love that the NPCs have voices and also movements. You will see them around the map doing stuff. The game has money and social points, that you get b doing tasks. The game offers you to get all-important vehicles and trailers with talking to people and unlocking/finishing different quests. People say it is hard to get money, but I get money pretty fast as I milk my cows, pick up eggs, get some honey, and so on. By selling stuff to sellers you can get a lot of money. All the tools and guides are very smooth and realistic. When you cut down a tree it falls down really realistic. All that I can say is that this game offers you more than you think. There are also a lot of updates almost every month and there is a lot of trailers, tools, food, animals, vehicles, and people that you can talk to them. To get some trailers you need to be indifferent chapters. You can also make furniture and the game is open-world with a big map.

MachineCraft

OK, so how do I start this…

Back when I first started, this game was alright, community was thriving during late 2017 and was quite newbie friendly at that time, I think.

I was quite fairly new when it comes to building stuff but my talent for sculpting crafts with combinations of boxes, capsules and couplers was very well received by people, more time has passed and I feel like I’ve reached what I am capable of when it comes to creating the most detailed I’ve ever done, a poseable craft based on STLF with a heavy military taste coupled with bundle of guns I’ve shared for people with STLF to use.

Real player with 8458.9 hrs in game

This game is awesome. You can build anything from a little bot with 3-4 blocks to a highly detailed and functional AF Answerer. The only limit is your imagination.

Yes it takes a bit to get used to the building mechanics but, there are samples examples which show the thing that can be done.

Like in Space Engineers, Starmade, etc. the way you learn is by trial and error so just remember to stay calmned and take your time as you experiment with ways to make your build better. It is basically the best way to learn and enjoy the game rather then just booting up the game and the next just quit because you don’t understand how to make your build to work the way you wanted it to.

! I’m looking at you people with 0.1 hrs played that just say “bad” without taking your time and actually playing around with the mechanics of the game a bit more (o_o ) . If you have trouble with your build or you don’t understand how something works then don’t be afraid to ask people from the community. They can give you tips on how to solve it.

This game is absolute dogshit, but i have seen worse. Multiplayer is finicky as hell but fun when it works. The souds are loud and rough, but hilarious. If you plan on getting this game for the cringe then get it because it is absolutely beautiful. Otherwise buy a copy for you and your friends as well. I honestly love this game. I just wish the dev would keeps working on it and fix networking issues. 8/10 would recommend

This game has massive potential if the developer just put more effort instead of leaving it to die. this is why alot of people frown on indie games and see them as “Money Grabbing”.

It has its moments for such a cheap price i suggest you buy it it is better than most negative games and actually has some fun elements and great graphics. 3/5
