Mini Countries

Mini Countries

Surprising I stumbled upon this page by going down a rabbit hole looking for a puzzle game that could entertain me without requiring me to spend most of my time trying to figure out the puzzle/strategy in order for me to complete it. I bought this game purely based on first looks and watching the developer play a bit of it on his live stream before I decided to just jump in and try in on my own.

Honestly, I was surprised by the way it looked first right off the bat and how the music and design were clean and refreshing from the start. Reminded me of the puzzle game The Witness on the first loading screen of just the background and music drawing you in before thrusting you in a game where you use your wits to figure out what to do. Though, this game did start with instructions which made it easier to understand on certain parts. Even with the Instructions I got, it was neat to learn things that the instructions didn’t go over completely (like the fact that you can connect storage units to each other). However, I thought from the first levels it would be a repetitive process until I hit later levels where cities would pop up more and more mechanics were added. Nearly lost my mind trying to find a new strategy for different levels.

Great game, chill and challenging at the same time.

Would definetely recommend the game, although some gamecrashing bugs occured during my playthrough. When attempting to beat the finland level at around 3000 population all the indicator bars above the cities turn grey and i am no longer able to identify the missing item, which then makes me lose the game 2 months later. Very frustrating when you managed to build a system that works and then just having it wasted like this.

Hope the devs will pick up on bugs like these, keep up the good work, will replay at a later time!

One of the best zach-like games to exist thus far; A perfect rendition of simple rules leading to complex interactions. The retro pixel art and story featuring historically accurate rock star scientists lends itself well to a fun and engaging game about building the worlds first analog computer. The developer is active and responsive, adding more content fairly frequently, and the community is already both friendly and competitive.

10/10, would request lewd etchings again

First and foremost: This is a positive review.

I’m unable to beat this game however (PEBKAC) though, so I’m going to caution prospective players:

This game is HARD, and the tests in each level are NOT comprehensive, nor will they give the same results when run individually versus the ‘run all tests’ results. It’s VERY possible to make solutions which pass in test-all but fail on every single test when run individually. Chasing the test scores can easily box you into a dead-end solution path.

The test score results are NOT an actual metric for how usable parts you design are, and almost every part is meant to be used later after it’s made, without any clear description of errors compounding or what to watch out for.

Wasn’t what I was expecting, but it’s not too bad and can be addicting. Works on Triple Screen.

A fairly standard match-3 game, but with nice music and really good graphics in the cut scenes where you get to find things. I think it’s good for younger players as well as those looking for an easy time waster. The rewards are nice, and come frequently enough to be satisfying.

My Little Village

My Little Village

My Little Village gives you the power to control your own village. You need to make the right decisions for your village otherwise it will be destroyed. You will decide the tasks of each little villager and you will see how they evolve. You will soon see if you will be forgotten or are you a spectacular leader of a balanced little village.

JOBS

A good leader knows how to balance villagers tasks so everyone has food in their bellies and safe roof over their heads. You are in charge of your little village and every villager is important. You can get to know each villager individually. You can change the task of your villagers as needed. Sometimes you need more food in your village while sometimes you need more warriors. Remember that the constant change of tasks will make the villagers nervous and they will not be as happy as they were. A good leader gives the right tasks to every villager.

WARRIORS

If every villager works in the field to get a lot of food for the village what are you going to do if the neighboring village is planning evils against you? Recruit some of your villagers as soldiers. By building a barrack in your little village you will be able to create battalions. Warriors and battalions will protect your village from attacks by barbarian villages and other threats. You can train your soldiers in time of peace and when the war breaks out you are invincible.

SKILLS AND FAMILY TREE

A good leader knows the weaknesses and strenghts of their little villagers. From the skill tree you can see witch task is best for every individual villager. Skills will increase by practicing certain tasks. The family of woodcutters are good at woodcutting and warriors child is good at fighting of course. Each of your villagers has their own family tree. There you can view the parents and grandparents of each villager. The skills of parents give an indication of where their child is good at. Regardless you get to decide the task of each and every villager yourself.

After finishing the whole game, despite of my strong objections that I’ve written about in my original review (below), I’ve decided to change my review into thumbs up.

It took me some time to analyze my thoughts, and while I still have strong objections about inconsistency of various gameplay mechanics, the game truly has a charm, is well done and doesn’t deserve negative review, even if as a programmer purely analyzing the consistency of the gameplay I’d rate it negatively without a second thought.

Let me start off by saying that I actually really enjoyed playing the game. The challenges are fun to solve and while they generally were not very difficult, I often found myself going back to old exercises and solving them in different ways.

Nevertheless, with the current state of the game, I cannot recommend it since there are just too many flaws that I cannot overlook even for an early access title.

Many of these are easily fixable, which is why I will go over the major problems one by one so that the developer(s) can consider my feedback.

One Hunt

One Hunt

OK lets get this strait it is a work in progress monster hunting game. now while being vary basic and almost lacking in some physics. but the game may be difficult its not unplayable. the graphics of this game are better then some more popular games " fortnite, among us,etc" so if you get this $2.00 game and hate on it well what can I say. you pay less than that in tax on your fast food so you get what you payed for.

This game is pretty good, actually. Although, this game is early access. :) Pretty scary me at first times, because in the jungle, too many trees, it can come out suddenly, like scary jump. Why I’m not got too many scary experience at next match? Because I run to the wide place and wait that monster come out. XD

Features:

-Simple horror survival game (Scary jump included, if you stand the wrong position)

-Nice graphic (At least, not too bad to me)

-Nice atmosphere

-Nice background music

-Simple sound effect

I can’t really recommend this game with the way it is right now…It has potential but the choppiness makes me not wanna play it, there’s also no settings available, I couldn’t make any changes to the graphics to make it less choppy, but I don’t want a refund because I want to keep this and wait and see if things improve..

Love the idea of the game. I’m having trouble finding the option to craft, but other than that the ambiance and the possibilities seem very cool. Keep up the great work!
