TKO

TKO

Come face-to-face with a heavyweight champ!

Too many boxing games place the player outside the ring looking in. How can you experience the adrenaline jolt of landing a crisp uppercut from the cheap seats?

Now you can literally “enter the ring” in the classic first-person boxing game TKO from Accolade™ – the boxing game that sticks you right on the canvas, staring straight into the eyes of a prize fighter bent on rearranging your face.

TKO’s features make it a unanimous decision:

  • Split-screen, arcade-style boxing action gives you a dual, first-person perspective. Watch yourself hit and get hit.

  • Witness the punishment of the punches on each fighter’s face. They swell. They bruise. They turn black and blue.

  • Calibrate each boxer’s strengths. Is his left better than his right? Is he cat-like or a clubber? Does he run out of band-aids or run out of gas?

  • Fight a stable of hungry contenders, each with his own ringside manner.

  • Slug it out with large, animated fighters. Pick on somebody your own size.

  • One or two player capability: pummel friends or clobber the computer.

  • Aerial-cam shows your position in the ring.

Punch Club

Punch Club

Ah… Punch-club. A once in a life time time opportunity to become town’s boxing champion with nothing to back you but your fists… and your elbows, feet, magic amulets and Chinese Master Splinter’s wise teachings.

The game is a strange mixture between a “point and click” and a fighting management game that works better than it sounds! You start as a young wanna-be martial artist in a retro environment and through training and fighting other people in legal and illegal fights you try to become the number one. Two things obviously make this game unique. First, its wacky story, filled with nostalgia moments and movie/game references that most people will immediately recognize, and its mechanics.

Punch Club is branded as a tycoon management game with simulation and RPG mechanics. While that is not neccesarily a lie or a shady way of representing what the game really is, I personally view is as a casual coach simulation game. You are both the main protagonist’s personal trainer when it comes to fitness and training, and coach when it comes to selecting which skills should he use in combat or learn as he improves. It is your task to guide him in his quest to become a world-renowned fighter and discover who killed his father and why.

Absolutely love it. It’s sorta like if Punch Club and Inazuma Eleven (for the DS) had a baby.

There’s a bit of boxer customization when it comes to their looks–hair, skin color, eyes, gloves, and trunks/shoes, You can’t change their name–only randomize it along with their starting height, weight, and BMI. So if you’re looking for a particular name, or a particular weight class with a specific height you’ll be randomizing quite a bit. Hopefully we can have more control over this in a future patch.

I’ve been excited for this game since I saw it pop up on /r/indiegames . After sinking almost a day’s worth of time into the game, I think i’m ready to review. First off, this game is what you make it. Don’t be deceived by the retro 2d look - you can do everything in the game from actually training your boxer to sending him off to work in the slave mines and gambling the money away. You manage everything from the diet (and cutting weight) to choosing your challengers to deciding whether to use illegal boxing gloves to increase damage against your enemies.

A neat little shared splitscreen game where two players completing on various game modes. It is a simple game where each person only has one button to use, A for the left and L for the right side. There are also plenty of different game modes to battle a friend with, from races, sports like golf, soccer and archery and duels. The graphics and visuals are also simple with its 8 bit style which adds to the arcadey aesthetics. Though, it is only really playable if you have another person as that is how the game is intended to be played. Though an addition of an online mode would definitely be great so then you would be able to play with each other online as opposed to it being only a local game. Though overall, it is recommended if you want a 2 player versus game and have someone else to play with. Some time can be sunk into, having a bunch of casual fun as there are plenty of challenges you can play against a friend with. It is fun to have in short bursts and come back to from time to time.

Yoshimitsu Hatsumi

Yoshimitsu Hatsumi

A great game, I played for a couple of hours, and was very satisfied.

A beautiful girl beats a ninja, you can’t take your eyes off the heroine.

Passing locations with great music.

An atmospheric game, I recommend you to buy.

An excellent old school fighting game in 3D. True, there is not enough second player mode for complete authenticity) Well, I think it will be added later. I would like to pay special attention to the music, it is just great. I’m really looking forward to the ost to buy it and listen to it while playing cs)

Very fun game, start a little slow, good for kids and training ;) but after some levels the fun starts, I liked the shape that make you turn and move your arm and body. I suggest to developer to include new peaces formats for the next levels and custom songs, but it’s nice I recommend it

I bought this game for a dollar, and I still question if it was worth that. It’s like, barely functional, and I didn’t get very far before it’s brokenness made it ridiculously hard. Maybe get this on a 90 off sale if you’re curious, maybe.

Fight for that Ball

Fight for that Ball

FIGHT FOR THAT BALL

A minimalistic football fighting 2D platformer with extensive custom maps support. Fast four-player couch coop fun with obstacles, explosions and a bit of fighting!

It is a football game in its essence, two teams with up to two players per team. During play, the primary objective is to score a point by kicking the ball into the opponent’s goal. Actually, from which side does not matter, as long as it passes the two poles. You can fight a bit to gain a time advantage or block attacks and heavy shots on the goal.

You can draw a map in any paint app that supports PNG files. Put it into the game and have a good old scrap on it. Probably the most exciting feature is the custom maps support with its many additional settings for the maps to give you even more freedom to come up with crazy stuff.

Fight for that Ball also comes with Steam Remote Play support, a target practice mode to improve your timing and shooting skills, a couple of team statistics and achievements.

Background

Even if it does not look like much, I started work on that game a while ago. After my friends and I had some fun matches in a similar minigame back then, I thought it would be fun to have it a bit faster and more maps. Here we are six years later, a fast football platformer where you can bring your own drawings to shape the map. I enjoy the wacky ball physics and strange fights, so I hope that some of you can have the same fun.

I’m thrilled to see what maps you come up with. So, please share your maps, thoughts or experiences over in the Steam Community section.

Create custom maps

You can create your own Fight for that Ball custom maps with two steps. The base layer is a PNG file containing the stage colliders. Every part of the image that is not white will be seen as a collider. The background should be white or transparent. The next layer is a JSON file for advanced map options to move and rotate goals, move player or ball spawn points. Custom maps must be stored in “%userprofile%/Appdata/LocalLow/Beardman Studios/fightforthatball/CustomMaps/”. Fight for that Ball comes with a custom map guide. You can find all files in the custom maps directory under CustomMapGuide. Both files must have the same name, E.g. test.png and test.json. The JSON file is not required. The game would load the default positions for goals and spawn points if no JSON file was found.

Stay safe! 3
