Dungeon Highway

Dungeon Highway

I love the simplicity of this game! Really well designed and probably even more fun on an iPad or iPhone!

Great game!!

I would definitely recommend Dungeon Highway. It is very fun game that I think anyone could enjoy. You can earn experience to get multiple players, and improve your score to even get on the scoreboards! For me, I think about seven dollars was worth it. I play it all the time and so far, I haven’t seen many negative sides to this game. This is a great game, and I would definitely recommend that you buy it.

EDIT: Game had been abandoned nearly since launch but it is now LITERALLY unplayable as servers are down and there is no option for individual players to create listen or dedicated servers. This game should probably be removed from sale.

Foreign Legion: Buckets of Blood

Foreign Legion: Buckets of Blood

Foreign Legion, Buckets of Blood is the perfect example of a developer creating a casual game that’s not simply a frenzied money grab. Despite being an incredibly simple game, and an incredibly small one at release, the developers have worked hard to improve every single aspect of it.

While the lower difficulties are pretty much impossible to fail on the harder ones provide genuine challenge. The leaderboards and small meta-game will keep the game interesting beyond the initial 30 minutes of excitement.

Deadly Kingdom

Deadly Kingdom

Game has lots of promise and potential. Its mix between several genres and has elements of tower defence, rpg and strategy.

Your goal is to protect your castle against different waves of enemies.

First you place / build your defences on grid and then you start battle and can command them on battlefield while you’re controlling main hero in third person perspective.

And if you’re losing you can summon dragon to bombard enemies for you for a short while.

Theres 50 different levels, you have different troops and limited amount of money. Use your money smart and experiment with different troops on different levels. Game offers lots of replayability.

Arranging armies and watching them go to battle… why is that always fascinating? We get to participate in the fight as a knight, but mainly to choose the angle of view when we call the dragon!

Urban Mage

Urban Mage

Urban Mage is an action simulation game where you get to be the powerful mage, with the ability to cast fireball after fireball and cause chaos and destruction. The time is the 21st century, the place is a quiet small town. Your goal? Kill them all!

Play as a raging mage in a modern environment and catch all the citizens before the cops arrive and arrest you. Or kill the cops as well. Destroy the town. Don’t forget to look inside the houses. Find everyone. Jump on roofs, dash through the streets and use all your powers.

Be aware though that even you are not invincible and the cops have powerful weapons you are not familiar with - guns.

Features:

  • action combat system and fast-paced gameplay as well as the possibility to play as a subtle stealth ninja-mage!

  • blood, blood, and more blood - don’t play the game if you are weak on your stomach!

  • stylized and beautiful art style - it is a joy to look at it, at least until you spill blood everywhere

Coming up soon:

  • different play modes including the open-world experience, timed arenas, and unique challenges

  • various difficulty settings and modifiers to tailor the game for you

  • Steam achievements and leaderboard - because everyone wants to be the best

What will probably never come:

  • story mode - who needs a story when one can be a mage … and create your own violent story!

Drunken Fist 🍺👊 Totally Accurate Beat ‘em up

Drunken Fist 🍺👊 Totally Accurate Beat ‘em up

I mainly recommend this game because it’s very cheap and it’s a very unique fun concept with the physics based fighting. More games should use proper physics. There is a sufficient amount of different moves to make it rather interesting. (although I’d add a few more)

However I think it’s far from desirable. It feels unpolished / unfinished with many features, such as key rebinding and level select are missing on release.

I also don’t like the “drunken” part. Sure, it’s advertised in the title, but in practice it means that the game is hard to control and clunky. While some could consider the result funny, I can only think of it as frustrating, as things often don’t work as I expect.

Tl;dr: Drunken Fist is a silly game that needs a lot of work. It feels like an Early Access title, but it’s being sold as a finished product.

The Good

  • Silly and good for a laugh* Charming art style

The Bad

  • Priced a bit higher than it should be for the quality/amount of content ($2 - $3 seems more reasonable)* Controls aren’t always responsive* Lacks something as basic as the ability to exit the game from the main menu* Player character can get stuck inside the scenery

Twisty’s Asylum Escapades

Twisty’s Asylum Escapades

Twisty is…a DEEPLY reluctant recomendation.

This is the dev’s first game, and it shows. There’s a kind of manic, earnest energy that irrevocably muddles Twisty’s Asylum Escapade’s design. The core concept is solid: you are playing Pac-Man from a third person view, trying to escape a series of complex and interconnected mazes. There are enemies of varying lethality, but all of them can be instantly and messily killed if you sneak up on them from behind. So, it swaps out Power Pellets for some basic stealth mechanics. (I mean, if I was setting my murderous Pac-Man game in an Asylum, the one thing I’d definitely keep would be the pill dependency. But, I digress.)

Its decent but random, the only issue I had is save system is broken and loading results in a delayed eventual crash the frame rate dies slowly and game crashes very very very often even if you try to do a play through of this speed running is the only way to even come close to beating it as it will eventually crash the longer you play I noticed the more the game actaully breaks and eventually crashes. Outside of the bugs and issues with that this would be a very good game.

No More Heroes

No More Heroes

Welcome to the Garden of Madness, Sudabros…

tldr; the game is great, but the port is not

–——————

The non-technical part of this port is still good, even after 14 years, the game has it’s charm. The heart and soul of the game is still here (except “Heavenly Star” is absent, but you can mod it back in), but the technical side of this port - OH THE TECHNICAL SIDE..

As you could see, most of the reviews here talk about the lack of controller support (KB+M is not an option;

! and why would you even want to play it on KB+M? ) - the game only supports XBOX360 controller, BUT DS4Windows works just fine for me.

Real player with 25.6 hrs in game

Yes. But not yet.

the game works really well, but there’s some bugs that need fixing.

Here’s some stuff nobody else is saying:

  • A bunch of achievements are broken, specifically those that have progression tracking. The counting doesn’t work properly. Those who have the achievement “Dial M for Massacre” are using SAM… for shame guys.

  • There’s some particular segments in the game where you need to hit a target at the right time but the timing is extremely finicky if not completely broken. Luckily they are all optional, but some are tied to a certain achievement. It’s not impossible per se, but I sure avoided them like the plague.

Dead by Daylight

Dead by Daylight

There’s a lot to like and dislike in Dead by Daylight, especially dislike according to many, very vocal players. And yet, being the only truly successful exponent of the genre it “keeps getting away with it,” as some would put it.

This “review” is not going to cover the reasons why as one can find enough documentation online, making my little write-up essentially useless and totally-not-an-excuse to post a review for the Steam Awards event. Whoops!

But, briefly, DbD is as fun and rewarding as it can be miserable and frustrating. Be patient, don’t take it too seriously, and bring some friends (imaginary ones if you’re playing the role of killer).

Real player with 3553.9 hrs in game

The current state of the game makes it hard to recommend this game to others. There’s a huge influx of hackers/cheaters that can completely ruin a match by their existence. There’s a current issue where people can get your IP from DBD and use it to DDoS you or even worse SWAT you. Neither of these issues have even been addressed by the devs and there’s no telling when they will be fixed.

The devs also have very questionable balancing decisions since they focus too hard on creating a perfect average of 2 kills & 2 escapes. As a result, at a certain point your personal skill stops to be the deciding factor and it comes down to many of the rng spawns on the map.
