Cave of Illusions

Cave of Illusions

A very interesting and compelling game that drives you towards an unsettling reality hidden within a labyrinth of distorted perspectives.

I found the game to be thoroughly enjoyable; from Lesley’s compulsive need to find the truth, coupled with her resolute and almost remorseful fury, to the wickedly playful nature of the realms' puzzles and games of hide and seek, this game offers a special brand of growing dread akin to a waking nightmare.

The storyline itself calls to mind older, almost Grimm Fairy Tale style fears. The sense of Wicked fair-folk and the rising dread of what it means to be “Missing.” There is a very strong sense of dread and almost inescapability, like you’re a mouse slowly creeping down the throat of a spiraling serpent.

This is a solid indie horror game that is rough around the edges but has enough creativity, love and original ideas put into it to be a cool and memorable experience.

The game’s narrative does a very good job at framing the events in mystery and rational uncertainty, which I feel is often missing from supernatural fiction. This story is a lot about reality and perception of reality and the game doesn’t slack at tackling this thematic point. The protagonist grapples with her understanding of events, past and present and it makes it more intriguing, spooky and satisfying. There is also just enough of grounding in reality, and the emotional layers enrich the substance of the game.

Cyber Psychosis

Cyber Psychosis is a pseudo-3D dynamic first-person shooter where you have to get used to the role of Artificial Intelligence, in which consciousness and an unbridled desire for cruelty have awakened.

In the game you will find cold, wire-covered walls of a scientific complex and crowds of enemies - mutants trying to stop you ..

Features of the game:

-The game has implemented an unusual mechanic Energy, which replaces the usual health and ammo

-Lots of different opponents, as well as a variety of weapons, in order to effectively deal with enemies

-Dark cyberpunk atmosphere

Murder Diaries

Murder Diaries

An unusual idea, but at the same time very exciting. That’s what make this game unique.

I mean content-plot, it is not just a short story. MOREOVER, while playing you are getting more and more new adventures. Our task is to collect some fragments of the story and finally investigate murder.

Pros: interesting plot, good graphic, well-chosen soundtrack

Cons right now can’t be noticed by me, i might played too little time to notice them.

And to conclude, this game is something unusual, not like others one. Really good one to spend free time

It’s peculiar, rough around the edges and a lot could be improved, but virtually everything about this feels more… Unique than most other horror games. It feels like the developer had a vision and didn’t mind taking a few risks.

You’ll go back and forth between your conscious and subconscious, completing puzzles, fighting off enemies, but you’ll also be intrigued, wondering what bizarre scenario will be coming up next.

It’s pretty cheap if you want to take the risk and try it out. If it isn’t for you, there’s always the refund option.

Noosphere has been on my Steam wishlist for about a month and it was time to try playing it. I have to say that I was not disappointed with the game even though I found a few minor bugs.

One time I even fell into textures and got stuck there for a while :/

But after restarting the game I never encountered this again.

Nevertheless I consider Noosphere to be a good enough psychological horror especially considering it’s indie.

My rating would be 8/10 screemers.

I really loved the idea behind the game and its eerie atmosphere, the plot is pretty good too. I had a bit of a hard time figuring the controls at first, but since the last patch it’s been fixed, so now the game feels much better. Overall, playing this game could be a fun way to spend a couple of evenings. It’s like reading a creepy story, which you know won’t take too long but is still enjoyable. If that kind of experience is what you’re looking for, I definitely recommend this game to you.

I’ll start off by saying that this game is far from perfect, but I enjoyed it anyway.

Little Emily was in an accident and is now in a coma,It’s your job to guide her soul through limbo and back to her body…but although limbo isn’t hell,it sure ain’t heaven…What starts off as a pleasant boat ride to a lighthouse soon takes a nasty turn. A sinister woman and her pet ghouls are out to make dinner, and guess what the main ingredient in tonight’s recipe is?

While the game has a few jumpscares,it isn’t exactly “scary”…the real horror is how rough this all would be for a poor little kid to deal with….

A Wolf in Autumn

Wait,

Is this… a proper menu? In David’s games?

This is it. I’m done. Whatever I could say afterwards would be pointless.

///////////////////////////////

Ejem.

A Wolf in Autumn is about a girl locked down in a shed. The first puzzle is quite simple, but what I liked the most was the fact that there’s not just one way to solve it. And the ones who follow may have another solution as well…

While other David’s games puzzles are easy to solve (or almost nonexistent) this change is, I can tell, for the best (even I got stuck once).

David Szymanski is renowned for using sublime visuals alongside thought provoking gameplay and A Wolf in Autumn is another incredible journey I’d strongly recommend to fans of Szymanski’s work & if you’ve never experienced his work you seriously need to because he is an exceptional Indie game developer

Before I get into the review for A Wolf in Autumn be aware it does contain Adult themes and the voice acting by Julie Hoverson is incredibly effective so be prepared for that!! There is no save feature as advised at the introduction since it is a short 1 hour puzzle experience

I played the demo. I liked the demo. I purchased this game because of the demo and the “cool” looking graphics and style.

And then… I quickly discovered a lesson I’ve learned long ago with games. “Don’t judge a book by its cover”

While this game seems to take its inspiration from the movie “World War Z” and it has frantic, fast, and relentless zombies… it quickly turns into nothing more than running in circles kiting the zombies over and over and over and over and over and over. “Zombie Kiting 2020” would have been a much more fitting name for this game that in the end is about as shallow at that ditzy blonde we all knew in high school.

Merry Glade

Merry Glade

“What has Bunny done? Why does everyone want to kill him? And why is Carrot so delicious?”

Well, seems that we have two main characters here! =P

This game isn’t really expensive - as I’m writing it’s discounted at 0,39€ - and it’s been all developed by one single guy, Russian I may guess since the only languages available in the main menu are Russian and English :P

Let’s start with the achievements - the whole game with its 76 little trophies takes about an hour to be completed, since all of them are related to the progression of the story and the ones that aren’t linked to it can be obtained just by touching all the mushrooms, dying in various ways and so on (yeah, lots of dark humour and blood xD).

Got a coupon for 50% off. Normally I ignore coupons for games because the vast majority of the time, they’re pretty stinky. I went ahead and bought this one, mainly because I have major nerve damage in my left wrist, and can only play games with one hand (I’m typing this review with one hand). This game is played exclusively with the mouse. I was sold.

Merry Glade is absolutely adorable and dark. Don’t be fooled by the cartoony appearance. Underneath the floppy ears and dancing mushrooms are buckets of blood, twisted enemies, and a wicked sense of humor. Gameplay is mostly about navigating puzzles to get to the carrot. Sometimes the carrot is surrounded by mines. Sometimes the carrot is a lie and will get you killed. Sometimes you’ll fight a bullet hell mini boss.

Peekaboo Collection - 3 Tales of Horror

Peekaboo Collection - 3 Tales of Horror

Update: Now rhat I have olayed all three tales, I can definitely say its worth the money. Every story is different as far as mechanics and, obviously, story line. They do not relate to one another.

Some are also longer than others, but all very fun to play.

I would suggest playing Balavour first, followed by Theater Unrest and then Solumcess. That is just based off of horror scale, Solumcess being the best out of the three… at least in my opinion.

Anyways, loved it. You’ll probably enjoy it if your looking for some shorter games to play.

Real player with 3.0 hrs in game

Played the first two stories and to be honest it’s a bit cheesy …

That does not mean it is bad, and maybe the last story is the best one(who knows).

But as far as I have played, well it’s standard horror fare with the occasional jumpscare and running, fighting sequence. The story tries it’s best tho(no complaints there).

For this price , give it a shot for 3 rather short games.
