Cyborg Mechanic

Cyborg Mechanic

Cyborg Mechanic is a simulation game where you face challenges as surgeon / mechanic working on cyborgs, bionic people and augmented humans. You will diagnose, repair and improve your customers’ bodies, as well as develop you workshop and acquire new equipment. You will operate in the underground, gaining fame and money – but also avoiding cyber-raids by the authorities.

Augment your clients

Your job is to make your customers happy by solving their problems. It’s your way to fame and money. And of course it’s all you live for. Your task, as a cyber mechanic, is not only to diagnose problems, but also to introduce modifications and improvements to bodies, minds and shells. But be careful as any procedure can end in your client suffering pain, disability, death or something even worse…

Assignments

Your clients works in the underground world – they are traffickers, bodyguards, soldiers, madmen addicted to implanting new cyberware, street samurais, mnemonics and more. Many of them have interesting stories to tell, but all of them want repairs or improvements. Job orders vary in their level of complexity and the equipment requires to complete the task. You don’t have to accept every client, but implanting augmentations is your way of life…

Augmentations

How’bout a russian mechanical arm from a decade ago. Maybe some wolverine-like claws of your own design. The most modern laser eyes are on offer. You also have high-end coprocessors. The list of implants requiring simple or very complex procedures increases with your skills, fame and resources. Over time, your clients' bodies, minds and shells won’t have any secrets for you…

Workshop management

Money is just a way to achieve your goal which is to create the best workshop in the city. What equipment will help you find more customers? Do you need to purchase a cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) right now or is it better to invest in a state of the art amputation saw first? Laser soldering iron or surgical scalpel – tough choice? Posters, colourful LEDs or slot machines? Cause looks are also important!

Cyberpolice

You work as an outlaw - without any license, out of control and not worrying too much about a sterile environment in your workshop. The more famous you are, the more illegal implants branded by you appear on the streets, the more vigilant the cyber police will be. Be sure they will be looking for you. Maybe they’ll lock you up right away? Maybe you can bribe them? Or maybe they will ask you for a small favour, who knows!

––The Gameplay—-

See that trailer? That’s the sort of action you’re going to be pulling off when you get used to the flow of the game.

ULTRAKILL is made by a developer who knows his audience, and his gameplay design choices show it. In this early access build, you have an arsenal of five different guns with two or more alternate versions which you can carry all at once, and two different fists. They all have their unique uses. My favorite guns are the Marksman Revolver (which allows you to pull off a skillshot by hitting an airborne coin) and the Pump Charge Shotgun (which allows you to charge up the power of your shotgun and makes you explode if you overcharge, wiping out enemies around you). The variety of this game lends to the player being encouraged to swap weapons frequently to avoid the animations and fire guns faster.

Absolutely one of the best FPS available right now. My personal favorite.

Taking influences from legendary games like DMC and Quake is a big deal and I thought that there is absolutely no way that someone can deliver that as a solo dev.

The game somehow manages to do that very competently. Quake influences are very obvious with a really amazing and skill expressive movement system that lets you build up insane amounts of speed and gives you even more freedom than Quake to zoom around the map, and a really smart take on the ID arsenal that I think gets overlooked when talking about this game. For example the classic way a railgun type weapon is handled in ID games is giving it a smallish cooldown while making it pretty strong. ULTRAKILL amps it to 11 and gives it about 10 (?) seconds of downtime and makes it BLAST. Every weapon is some sort of a variation of an ID arsenal counterpart, but amped to a crazy degree to allow for more skill and creativity expression and prompt actual gameplay choices on how to tackle every situation.

Should This Life Sometime Deceive You, Be Strong!

Yuppie Psycho. It’s a horror adventure game made by Baroque Decay that developed The Count Lucanor. Yuppie Psycho has a different background to this developer’s previous work, The Count Lucanor, but its unique vibe is quite similar each other. So if you’ve already enjoyed their games previously, you will be satisfied with this game as well. Of course, new users can start with Yuppie Psycho first. The player becomes a new employee of Sintracorp, one of the world’s largest companies, and is tasked with hunting the witches who threaten his company. But as the story unfolds, the hidden secrets of this huge company are revealed one by one. In this game, unique pixel artworks & animations with its horror vibe are impressive. And it’s also worth noting that Garoad, who was responsible for the OST of Va-11 Hall-A in relation to the soundtrack, joined Yuppie Psycho.

I knew this job offer was too good to be true.

We are all afraid of something, whether it be what you can run into everyday or something that is only possible in media. Clowns, zombies, bugs, ghosts, being stalked or spied on, darkness, the unknown, and so on. Although, dread can set in with the seemingly simplest of things like speaking to new people, public speaking (even if it’s like a fraction of a class size), or going into your first job. Despite how much someone hypes themselves up to prepare, it always creeps back.

Holy cow, this game is my aesthetic. I turned off the pixelation; as fun as it is, it’s difficult to deal with the entire time. This game isn’t scary as much as it is a weird B-movie with occasional jump scares. I love the ambiguous storyline; this being a relatively small community it’s got a lot of mystery in the world and gameplay.

It has a lot of personality and the devs continue to do a good job in updating it. It’s a survival rogue-like at heart; you have to make decisions as to how you’ll survive, and there isn’t a lot of room for equipment. Dying can be discouraging, but (at least in easy mode) you can go through the entrance of the biome you died in and pop back into the level you were just at. There’s really not a whole lot to it once you understand what’s going on. It’s just a fun, addictive game.

Cool game kind.

pros:

  • great visual style. Very atmospheric and stylish levels.

  • action battles as you need to use hero abilities in time.

  • different weapons with which you can kill demons.

  • different bosses, not very difficult though, it’s okay.

  • intricate strange plot.

  • good jokes)

  • good price.

  • I liked the crazy dancing letters)))

cons:

  • some bosses and fights pissed me off.

  • some basics 2d scroller shooterics are not presented, but mechan yeah it’s experimental.

Real player with 6.8 hrs in game

Quite a cool game, of course not without drawbacks.

cool stuff:

1. Lots of action, especially in the end. Almost Serious Sam sometimes, but you always have proper gun to destroy demons.

2. Some bosses remind old good game console games.

3. Surprisingly lots of stuff for indie game - several main characters, lots of guns, lots of demons

4. Complex and interesting plot, but sometimes there is a feeling like watching Dune without reading book - very interesting, but understood nothing.

5. One of plot twist in the middle reminded me half life, that was quite cool.

RAGE 2

RAGE 2

“When things go wrong, don’t go with them.”

~Elvis Presley

First of all, this game is not nearly as bad as you may have probably heard or expected by looking at “mixed reviews” status in Steam. Personally? I’ve enjoyed my time here quite a lot. It’s just… OK, it won’t be so easy to explain. See, the biggest problem with RAGE 2 is that it is… RAGE 2. I mean, Avalanche Studios? The guys did a pretty nice job here. The core mechanics is very solid, leveling system is kinda great (seriously, I totally enjoyed it), gameplay is very fast-paced, like in all those modern incarnations of the old titles like DOOM, Shadow Warrior and the others, while Apex Engine provides surprisingly solid FPS on highest settings in 4K. Even on pretty old hardware. When I’ve started playing through the tutorial mission? I was like “Wait just a minute, why everybody hates this game so much?!” Then I played a bit more and was like “Ah, OK, I see it now…”. See, even though core mechanics is very nice, the idea of wasting it on resurrecting RAGE? It was terrible.

Real player with 133.6 hrs in game

I would not recommend Rage 2 to a fan of the series. I would not recommend Rage 2 to a newcomer to the series. It is a painfully mediocre game crippled by the fact it is open world.

If you want a game for world exploration and discovery, go play Fallout New Vegas. If you want a game with epic guns and action, go play Doom. This blends the two genres and makes them both worse.

Design:

I believe if Rage 2 was designed to be linear, or at most a wide corridor, we could have had an exceptional game on our hands with more fleshed out mechanics. The thing is…. That would have made it similar to Id Software’s other title: Doom. Now it’s conspiracy theory time here but perhaps there was pressure on the Rage 2 team to force the open world genre (which was on-trend at the time) as to not create competition between the 2 titles.

I found out about this game while looking at random people’s broadcasts. And i’m glad i got to know about it! It’s released for PS4 about 2 years back and I’m guessing they just port it to PC like a year later?..

Now that said, i’ve only decided to write a review ONLY after about 800+ hrs of gameplay.. yes; 800+ hrs i played this game and only then i’ve decided to say whether it is worth your time/ money on this. This is my in-depth review.

Disclaimer: I actually love this game, but I also love many other games and lying is possibly the dumbest thing anyone can ever do, so I’m offering you my completely honest and objective opinion about the things at hand, which comes from an experienced player and someone who plans on continuing to play this game.

Also, if you like this game, check out the “Elminage” series, “Elminage Original” and “Elminage Gothic” are on steam and you’re going to love them.
