This Strange Realm Of Mine

This Strange Realm of Mine:

Ever wonder what would happen after your last intake of oxygen? Well, it is obvious - you’ll die! Your body will either rot six feet under or will be badly overcooked. But what about your spirit? Will it float in the atmosphere, in space, or be sucked somewhere hot and fiery? Wherever you end up, it’ll be a place where you can reflect on your life. This is the Strange Realm of Mine.

This Strange Realm of Mine is a combination of First Person Shooter, Puzzles and Horror, with a touch of poetry.

--- This Strange Realm Of Mine is a strange game indeed. Fundamentally, it is a game about philosophy and the nature of existence, and a sizable portion of the game is spent explaining its philosophical perspective to the player. The game touches upon some other themes, however, such as mental health, freedom of choice, and friendship. The game presents some interesting perspectives and questions that are worth considering, although its matter-of-fact philosophical statements about life and the universe can sometimes come across as preachy and a little pretentious, especially when the dialogue options give you no choice but to agree with them. Not all the text suffers from this problem, however. There are some likable characters and interesting poetry throughout the game, and the aspects of the game that are not (over) explained give the experience a nice dreamlike feel. *– [Real player with 4.3 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198002045292)* --- ![Beyond a Total Loss](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1058470/header.jpg "") ## Beyond a Total Loss Just finished the the game and really enjoyed it, there are many details and a lot of effort was put into it. It was a great old school adventure with some interesting twists and funny dialogues. --- Beyond a Total Loss is good. It's about what you'd expect it to be based on the visuals, and is more or less what I love about indie games. It is a pretty short game, and it can be beaten in only a couple of long sessions. You can't just load guns in 3 seconds and then switch from solid balls to grapeshot without going through another reload. Turn rate and speed are crucial to monitor. And the story line is fun, too. *– [Real player with 94.4 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197974701626)* Fascinating game. It was great years ago, and I finished it again with great pleasure nowadays. And that's not a call of nostalgia. There are many old games which didn't age well, but I can't say such a thing about this one. Yes, it's graphics will not impress you these days and some gameplay mechanics are rather old. But the game brings an enthralling non linear story, great music and atmosphere as well as interesting albeit little clunky gameplay. The game is 20 years old, but it has unique walkthrough for 4 different nations and unique dialogs for all characters, not just secondary ones, but even unimportant ones. For example, there is no copy-cat tavern keepers or store owners with standard phrases. Each one has his own character, story or even quest. And a word about quests. There is no copy-paste quests as well. Each one is unique and there is a lot of them. Believe or not, but it is the only game where I still remember the names of most of the characters after so many years. *– [Real player with 41.5 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198020225761)* --- ![Vampire: The Masquerade® - Bloodlines™ 2](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/532790/header.jpg "") ## Vampire: The Masquerade® - Bloodlines™ 2 **What Monster Will You Be?** Enter the World of Darkness and rise through vampire society. I’m not fond of long-enough-for-a-cup-of-coffee-type of horror games because their fear factor is often reliant on cheap boogeyman tactics. I bought this one on Halloween sale since I wanted to have a snack before moving onto bigger meals that are more to my taste. I didn’t expect much from Mists of Aiden but I was positively surprised. It manages to tap into every aspect needed to make a decent horror title from its great monster and level design to the impeccable execution. However, the description of the game is misleading as it’s quite linear and has little to no room for free exploration. With a rather weak ending, I’d say the story isn’t the forte here but the game is otherwise very enjoyable. More often than not, I felt anxious about the unnerving atmosphere and the monsters. *– [Real player with 3.9 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561199076541467)* ``` Curator page here-- [url] DaRevieweD #115 [/url] -- [i]New review every Weekend[/i] ``` ### "…written. THE CHOICE IS YOURS. I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!! *– [Real player with 125.3 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198800050525)* This game is not "good." It has an extremely high learning curve, no tutorial, a clunky interface, poorly laid out and unintuitive quest objectives, sub-par writing, semi-frequent crashes, and is heavily dependent on the community "Combined Mod" to smooth out its rough edges. That said, it is the best pure Pirate RPG available. But that probably says more about the gaping hole that exists in the market and less about this game itself. Aside from the brief but very welcome tangent that the Assassin's Creed franchise took with Black Flag we have not seen a good single player pirate RPG in a long time; probably since Sid Meier's Pirates. So if you need your pirate fix and are willing to take the time to learn this game, then you will be satisfied. But I can't help but wonder why we haven't seen a better Pirate game made. *– [Real player with 75.9 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198024248964)* --- ![TRANSCEND](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/760860/header.jpg "") ## TRANSCEND ### TL;DR: Simple sweet short early release rpg with captivating plot , easy to pick up combat system and absolutely gorgeous art. For a game made by just one sole person, it's definitely exceeded my expectations. ### FIRST IMPRESSIONS -At first, I thought the screen for the game was way too small, however you can adjust it, (this is clearly mentioned in the game in an interesting way.) -Really great, detailed backgrounds -Lovely music track ### Throughout gameplay -Interesting Combat system *– [Real player with 2.1 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198105267206)* Intro: I found this game through BYOND a game developing platform. If you are familiar with this platform you will know that few games from there look this awesome, also since the game is practically solo developed which must have cost years of work i can't help but back this project. Gameplay: The current game is still very short with 4 chapters of stream lined story containing next to no replayability. Giving you a great experience for about 30 to max 60 minutes if you follow the story line and explore everything there is to see. Having said this the game trailer, story progression, graphics, music, inventory options and many other things give me hope that this will become an awesome and polished game. *– [Real player with 1.8 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198132384196)* ---
