-Combat is a bit janky

-Sometimes the animations and interactions bug out

Overall: This feels like another one of my favorite games Paradise Killer in that its a interesting mystery that engages you with story and compelling characters. I am excited to see more from this dev in the future.

Honestly a really good way of using a loop mechanic, it’s a bit of a gimmick at this point and usually not the most fun to have all progress made depending on resetting all progres. But with Galerius it’s not as tedious.

So the game story wise is pretty fun with some very interesting story lines. It first and foremost being a skyrim mod comes through here as it has a greater focus on many small stories to build the world around you. This ties together nicely to give the main story and the “canon ending” great build up and makes it feel organic.

BioShock Infinite

BioShock Infinite

BioShock Infinite is a masterpiece. This game has one of the best storylines ever. The story was really interesting and I had so much fun playing through it. For a game made in 2013, I’ve gotta say, the graphics in this game are BEAUTIFUL. I loved the setting of this game and the atmosphere of this game is AMAZING. The gameplay in BioShock Infinite was really cool and the combat was unique. There is quite a lot of content in this game and some DLC’s to play after you have finished the main story. There were barely any bugs in this game and it is optimized well for whatever specs you have, the game will still run fine and still look really good. I have also played through the other 2 BioShock games and I really enjoyed those ones, but this one is by far the best of the series. This game is definitely worth the price and I also recommend buying the other BioShock games with this one too if you haven’t already played them. If you like story-rich FPS games I highly recommend BioShock Infinite. 11/10

Pfuuuu … It was a wild ride. Although I swore heavily sometimes, I enjoyed this game very much. Some parts still have a few rough edges but nothing serious. The level design is pretty clever and challenging and the boss fights are memorable and a lot of fun. I’m not a huge fan of pixel art, yet the game looks really nice and the soundtrack and sound design is amazing. I definitely recommend it to play (and finish).

YesterMorrow is a cute platformer, very simple yet you have to pay attention to the environment if you’re going for the 100 %.

Sounstrack is amazing, sceneries are amazing and it has a calming atmosphere overall, except for when there is a boss and the music changes to a hype type of music.

The development team is amazing, they streamed the game a few times and it was really nice to see the developing team do a speedrun of a game they created.

Oh, and Yester has the CUTEST collectibles ever,: you have to find and pet cats and dogs all over the map

If you’re like me, here’s what you do:

1. Buy and install Braid

2. Traverse through the worlds without solving them

3. Wonder why the game is so hard (because I’m skipping some puzzles)

4. Stop playing the game for four years

6. Buy The Witness sometime in those four years

7. Play The Witness only recently because I saw Faker stream it online

8. Realize that through The Witness, I like well designed puzzle/logic games and I’m mesmerized by Jonathan Blow (designer and developer for Braid and The Witness)

Real player with 11.8 hrs in game

Braid is a curious game for a lot of reasons, despite it’s impressive art style and legacy it actually isn’t as enjoyable as it appears.

As the trailer suggests you are capable of turning back time, thus you never officially die. Despite this the leaning curve is quite steep and not always fair.

If anyone has heard of the Infamous Goat puzzle in Broken Sword this may make a bit more sense. But basically in the point and click adventure game Broken Sword there is a puzzle that requires quick timing. But you the player have never used it before, so what makes it so difficult is your lack of understanding and knowledge of a gaming mechanic. You are unaware that you are even capable of doing what the game expects you to do.

I don’t know how I keep finding my way into “walking simulators”. I suppose it’s because I have a desire to see extremely compelling stories, and walking simulators have to contain a better than average stories as that’s what keeps drawing people in. In this Last Day of June succeeds at an unprecedented level.

There was some trouble in my life when I played this game and when I looked at my list of games, I saw this was coming up next I had a feeling I was going to have an issue. I didn’t want a depressing game, I didn’t want to feel sad. Yet this was next on my playlist, so I hunkered down and prepared for a short session after which I would put it aside for later. Instead, I spent over an hour and a half watching this brilliant story unfolding, trying to do a let’s play for it and constantly being distracted by the way it delivers its story. You can see it in the youtube video linked below.

Although visually and audibly an enjoyable game to play, Last Day of June has a few issues that caused me to not be able to recommend it overall. The first has to do with the story itself. The story portrays a tragic car accident very early on in the game (which can be seen in the trailer that was released,) and involves the protagonist survivor Carl going back in time to try to prevent June from dying. During the game, glimpses of their past is shown that reveal how their relationship was in the years prior to the accident. Memories of several of the other characters can also be collected as an optional part of gameplay that give additional background on them as well as for Carl and June. The problem is the lack of most of this background before the accident occurs, apart from a short flashback that briefly introduces the characters and explains why Carl and June decided to go to the dock. The player knows almost nothing about these characters when June dies, and it’s difficult (in my opinion, though some may disagree) to have an emotional response about her death. Later on in the game, after discovering how their relationship had been before she passed, it’s much easier to sympathize with Carl’s loss. However, in my opinion, this occurs too late. Had the player been able to either see sequences of them interacting in the past in the prologue of the game, or better yet to actually play through scenes that highlight the love that they had for each other, the car accident would have been far more impactful, and the urgency of trying to save her would make the story much more enjoyable to experience. As it stands, however, the story felt a bit mediocre.

Hello,

I really liked playing this game! It is fair and challenging.

A short breakdown of the pros and cons!

Pros

– Three difficulties to play and complete to gain the final skin for your ball character.

– There are many skins to unlock that will change your ball character.

– The mechanics are simple but very well implemented.

– I really like the color-changing that you need to go through the obstacles.

– Get ready to roll into a difficult platformer that will test your skills.

Cons

– The game might be too difficult for some people even on easy.

The Messenger

Just a heads up:

So after 100% completion of the game, i decided to write a review. This will contain spoilers for both gameplay and story. I recommend you should go in blind, because the game has a nice twist around 2-3 hours in the game. The story is not the best, but it is interesting anyway. This my opinion, so you can disagree with me, and that’s fine. So let’s begin!

Gameplay:

The Messenger is a pretty good platformer. In the second half of the game, it transforms into a metroidvania. But you probably knew that.

Real player with 20.6 hrs in game

The Messenger is a great platformer / metroidvania with retro aesthetics but a very modern level of polish, fluidity and user-friendliness. It features a rather unique take on a typical double jump called “cloudstepping” that recovers your jump when you hit an enemy, a projectile or an object before landing, allowing to jump again and again and again if you manage to, thus staying in the air for a long time and feeling like a cool ninja.

Another unusual trick of this game is that it consists of two distinct halves (though it’s not a 50/50 split in terms of runtime, more like 40/60 or even 30/70, but it’s still sort of like Act 1 and Act 2). The first one plays like a strictly linear, “keep moving to the right” platformer, while the second one lets you freely roam the old locations and discover their new secrets (as well as paths to some new locations). Metroidvania elements are still pretty light here, and you’re unlikely to get lost or to discover something wholly unexpected, but it does add a fair sense of exploration. I would agree with a common complaint about mild repetitiveness, though, as fast travel points are scarce and the map is not very interconnected, which leaves you to go through some parts over and over again.
