Would highly recommend this game!!

Played the prologue & was so please that i bought it right away. I love the simplicity of a point & click game. I have tried games with my X-box controller on my P.C. (I don’t have an X-box or any other systems as i like things simple without the complexity of numerous “buttons” especially since i’m rather “nimblely inept” & also have no idea what the adjustments in settings even mean) ….as a footnote, why does “partial controller support” mean something different depending on Steam & the producers of the game as i now have quite a collection of “wanting to pull my hair out” games! Oh dear, it looks like i am regressing, lol, so back to my review of Ultreia. Simply put, it is one of my favourite games i have had the pleasure to play! I love the lil robot & his wonderful humour. Buy it, u won’t be disappointed. The graphics are awesome & the plot is so well written & produced. The lil guy turns a game into an emotional, quirky, loveable “piece of art”. Kudos to the writers & producers for giving me a few needed hours of distraction from lifes everyday demands.

This game is a success. I found all the characteristics of a good old classic point’n click.

The artistic direction and the music are a huge success, the story is fascinating and the puzzles work well. It is not very complicated to move forward especially if we activate the indicators to interact. The secret ending is very moving (don’t miss it). May The Force be with you, Nymo.

Capsa

So 320 hours of gameplay, met many super nice folks, visited all areas multiple times (Map is huge). Super stoked i gave this game a shot upon release!

Developers are really friendly and work really hard, updates have been frequent, sometimes daily depending on what theyre working on. Lots of exciting things to come in the future of Capsa, but need to give them time. Just 2 developers and the game hasn’t been out long at all. Lots has changed from the short amount of time it has been released.

So far I have spent like 32 hours in Capsa and not one minute was boring.

Even if the community is still small it is growing, but you can easily spend hours exploring by yourself.

I didn’t even visit all of the islands yet, but found a marvellous place for my home…just imagine a house directly on a beach with your own mooring to the right there is a romantic looking lighthouse and I can listen to my favorite music while dancing with a friend or simply gazing at the sunset!

When I feel like going somewhere else I can choose between a boat, a horse or a buggy to go wherever I please in this huge open world.

Brink of Extinction

Brink of Extinction

Brink of Extinction is a small but rich tower defense set in a post apocalyptic future. If you enjoy tower defenses then I would give this a try, especially if you enjoy strategy and planning ahead.

The game certainly leads on the difficult side. You start of with a large pool of credits, and get a couple of bucks for each enemy you kill, more money the stronger they are. This results in your initial placement and planning being crucial; not to say you can’t change things up mid game, but it can be quite hard to recover from a really bad plan at the beginning. Make no mistake, this game is hard, and you will need to play some levels multiple times to see which strategies do and don’t work. If you don’t enjoy repeating a level and getting better at it each time till you win, you might not like this, however I found that to be part of its appeal. It forces you to really think about what you’re doing.

Warcraft III was my first exposure to tower defense games, and I became a fan of the genre many years ago. The great thing about Steam, is there are just so many options. There are many enjoyable tower defense games on Steam, some can be quite deep with mechanics and level layouts. Brink of Extinction is not one of these though.

First of all the game runs fine, I completed it and even tried out one of the endless maps for the score achievement. This game is just not very enjoyable, combined with some bad level design and fun ends up being at the Brink of Extinction. Most levels consist of a few predesignated building areas in a claustrophobic environment with the same few car assets peppered throughout. You have a choice of towers and some power ups you can use. It seems best to just spend all your funds on one or two towers to upgrade the stats as you wont do enough damage if you build on all of the limited spacing you do have. The power ups in my opinion are just too overpriced in the campaign to be viable, but they are useful in endless mode once funding is not an issue. So you place your towers and giant insects and Arachnids begin to spawn. Now you play the can my towers tank and kill these before they wreck what I’m suppose to protect game. Eventually you figure out that there are really only two viable towers which adds even less choices for your limited area.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS

This was a beautiful game. It’s a game you could theoretically finish without much effort and time, but the world, the side characters, and the cultures played so deep a part in the story that I found myself sinking 200+ hours into it and not thinking twice. There is so much here in lore picked up in scraps and holograms hidden on your travels.

The thing that stuck out to me the most here was the relationships. Helping the people of the world was as important to the story as anything else, and it comes full circle

! at the end when those people that you choose to be compassionate to (or not) show up in the final epic battle (or they don’t, depending on how you interacted with them) . There are as many opportunities to show compassion and to be human as there are to kill things. It is such a human story that sets itself apart from your run-of-the-mill first-person shooter. It’s exploration and mystery as much as it is combat. It’s learning about people and cultures as much as it is learning about the machines, the world, and the secret of what Zero Dawn really is. This is not to distract from the story which was absolutely unique and incredible in how it unfolds, especially as you get closer to the heart of the truth.

Horizon Zero Dawn is an awesome and fun game, definitely up there at the top of my list of favorite games.

It feels a bit like a fusion of the Tomb Raider reboot series and The Witcher 3 to me. Many of the game mechanics seem very familiar from either of the two but are somewhere in between. The climbing especially feels like somebody wanted a TW3 like game with climbing, was inspired by Tomb Raider (or Uncharted for that matter) and implemented a light version of that. Saying this however is not to diminish what the game achieves in any way. The net result of it is a very entertaining, fun to play set of game mechanics, from combat to stealth, a bit of crafting, riding, etc. (As with the other games many of the combat subtleties you only really learn on the harder difficulties.)

Review by Gaming Masterpieces - The greatest games of all time on Steam.

Is this game a masterpiece? Nope, but it is still a fine point’n’click adventure in the spirit of Machinarium. Move your character from room to room, solving puzzles to open the way to the next room. No speech (ok, some gibberish), no text (unless you can read alien language), all (not too hard) puzzles have to be solved by visual clues. The story sounds grim, but despite depicting a post apocalyptic world it’s not grim, just alien. You don’t die, there are no hidden monsters, just damaged equipment you have to repair or maybe slightly unfriendly creatures. There is some pixel hunting, but no dead ends. Hidden parcels unlock design documents. The game is short, there are 22 chapters until you reach the end. No achievements, no ultrawidescreen support.

Nice little adventure game, hand drawn art

The hand drawn scenes were the showstoppers., very pretty. Slightly surreal planet, point and click as you go, puzzles so simple I’m not sure you’d call them puzzles, relaxing soundtrack that matched the scenes. The story made sense, and it was nice that there was no dialogue and instead amusing little grunts and pictograms. It’s a cozy feel-good that’s about 3.5 hours, with easter eggs you can go back for in chapter mode if you didn’t find them all on the first run-through. Also played just fine on 1.6 GHz Mac, lower than the 2 GHz requirement.

Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture

Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture

=^_^=

Prologue: I adore this game. I truly do. This is not simply a ‘Walking Simulator’, it is a Hiking Simulator! As noted in the description: “Featuring a beautiful, detailed open-world and a haunting soundtrack, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture is non-linear storytelling at its best.” Indeed, it is a haunting soundtrack, however, it is closer to a melancholy hymn than anything else. So, what about all the other aspects of this game? Well, read on, and I shall indulge you!

Gameplay-Slow, smooth, and serene, dying is just not possible here. So, don’t even bother trying. Instead, simply relax, take in all the scenery, and immerse yourself in the story-line. Who are you? It matters not, but for me, I was a nameless hiker, along the road and also the trail. Will you encounter any other people? In a manner of speaking, yesh. However, don’t expect to see them clearly, for they are nothing more than particles of light. What about creatures and critters? There are a few critters (Like birds) here and there, both dead and alive, so seeing them alive us a plus, at least. Plus, you can open doors, use light switches, radios, computers, and whatnot. Gameplay Score-8 out of 10.

From the beginning everything about this game was promising. You have an interesting story, gorgeous graphics (Cryengine to boot at), touching orchestral music, and what else? Oh yeah, Santa Monica studios, who are better known these days for making God of War BOY! (I had to do that, sorry) working in collaboration with The Chinese room so what could have gone wrong?

I’ve played many narrative/exploration games before, and I liked many of them. I always mention The Vanishing of Ethan Carter first, a supernatural murder/mystery game I loved so much and even though the story was not perfect it went great with to the game world. You believed this could actually exist, not because of the graphics only but also because of the design, the way every object was placed in the world, you believed it could’ve been a real place. It was a pleasure to explore and see the story unfold. It didn’t go on for too long, just the right amount of time.

What a brilliant and fun game, you have the ability to build in all 6 directions without gravity holding you back. All of the buildings are beautifully designed and futuristic, with more things being added as the game continues to develop. To add a layer of depth to the game its more than just building zones for residents, commerce and industry you also get to manage the resources necessary to allow the buildings to grow via demand of certain products that you can choose manufacture in your city or buy on the in game market.

This game has A LOT of promise and a lot of improvements. Such as better sound effects like city sounds like the noise of cars or even have citizens walking around. simple things would be nice. Also like to see different modes of play besides free modes or retro modes would like to see perhaps a sandbox mode. would also like to see maybe different enviorments maybe different sky colors and perhaps having maybe different planets scenes like what would it be like to build a sky city on Jupiter or something with different enviorments effects and collecting different elements. Just some ideas
