Sakuya Izayoi Gives You Advice And Dabs
Now one may be wondering how I could be reviewing this after 1175 hours of playtime. I realize this is simply not enough to fully appreciate this masterpiece, but at the very least it is now my most played game on steam. This is the least one can do to truly have delved deep enough into this game, to experience all it has to offer, to savor every last drop of this ambrosia. To say it was soul-changing is an insult, and is woefully inadequate in describing the magnificence of what can no longer be described as a mere game. My act of even attempting to use such inaccurate and insufficient terms to convey this unparalleled brilliance is wholly unacceptable and utterly blasphemous. This is easily humanity’s magnum opus.

This game has undoubtedly changed my life for the better.
A few months ago I was struck by the loss of my grandma whom I loved very much. She used take me down to the park near where I lived and watch me play. We always used to get ice cream right after too, our favorite flavor was sweet strawberry. As someone who has dealt with loss in the past I would assume this would be something I could get over easily. I was proved wrong
My mental and physical health was slowly deteriorating as I was mourning the loss of my grandma, my family tried to help me but their efforts where deemed futile. I was lost, no where to run to, nowhere to speak out, so out of desperation, I looked to the one person I could trust. The one that would always be there for me. The one who believes in me…

Note:
After the SGF summer contest I realized that I’m a dinosaur, over 900 demos. .. the window of time for me to make a sustainable living from indie game development has closed.
I’m going to return to driving a semi-truck.
If lightning strikes and people give a hoot, I will finish the game.
Mark Twain’s Tom Sawyer: Survival Game
We are one of the first studios who decided to make a videogame based on Mark Twain’s books.
So, we took a chapter from Tom Sawyer’s Adventures book, about him escaping to an island with his friends. And decided that this will perfectly fit into a concept of a survival game. But it is not a plotless survival sandbox. As anything with our studio, our games are highly focused on unique experiences, intrinsic motivation, and player emotions. If we make a survival game - it is going to be unique and most of our time is going to be dedicated to immersing the player and creating a feeling of an authentic teenage adventure inside the player’s head.
Mountain
I don’t think a lot of people don’t see the value in Mountain, and when people do they tend to simply overcomplicate the game for what it is. It’s not meant to be a ‘game’ exactly. The developers of the game purposefully say this originally: “Leave it open - it’s designed to run in the periphery of your life. Only interact with it when you feel like it. You can play Mountain while playing other games. If you are not playing it, it will play itself. “. Again Mountain is just mean to be left open and you can return to it when you feel like it. You might not see the aspect of it originally but you can find it later… hopefully. But then again, what are the standards of a ‘game’? Are we to simply segregate Mountain simply because it is possibly outside of the norm? On the contrary! Different experiences lead to different viewpoints which make you more open-minded. So can people truly state that Mountain is not a game but a screensaver? There are many ways to view Mountain and seeing it as a screensaver is one of the more popular demoralizing viewpoints to which many have so acquired. So one can only view Mountain as simply a standalone and not compare it to more contemporary issues. Or one can compare it but by doing so one loses the face value of the game itself. I think I’ve settled for now the dispute that this ‘game’ might be a screensaver or simply not a ‘game’ at all.

I don’t really play video games. An old shoulder injury prevents me from manipulating a mouse at a computer for longer than what is required for work. A few weeks ago, I herniated a disc in my spine and was bedridden for several days. I discovered Mountain. A video game with no controls. Initially, I had the same reaction as everyone else. Neat, a pet rock to check in on occasionally with calm music and ambient sounds! Perfect!
But unlike everyone else, I kept Mountain up at the forefront of my computer screen while I knitted and listened to podcasts. I interacted with Mountain a lot. I spoke to it, cared after it like it was a plant. After 30+ hours of game play, I realized that this game actually has a few delightful little secrets.
! You actually do have some control in this game. The objects that land can be rearranged and moved by clicking and holding on them. But if you move an object too many times in a row, it can be lost, and too many lost items makes Mountain depressed. You can also literally shake off clouds. Mountain is intuitive to your interactions with it. The more you click on it, the more positive and happy the thoughts are. I once was rearranging objects and moving and clicking around for a solid 15 minutes and Mountain’s response was, “I’m a total babe.” Another time, I was rearranging objects and lost a cool item, so I closed out and reopened to the last save, and it responded with, “Wasn’t I just here?”

Half-Life: Alyx
I recall with a certain level of fondness the excitement and appreciation I had when Valve released the new physic’s engine with half-Life 2. I remember playing that and being thrilled with how the engine made everything that much more immersive.
Alyx VR is on a whole other level.
Right from the start, I felt that old familiar sense of awe and appreciation that comes from the attention to detail, the art direction and physics modeling that has gone into this game. It is truly a next level experience and my hat is once again off to the magicians at Valve.

I have just completed HLA on my HP Reverb G2 + PC based on ASUS ROG STRIX RTX3080 OC, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, RAM 32GB DDR4 3600MHz. In the past I had played HLA for about one hour (in different sessions) on Valve Index + PC based on last gen hardware. Well, the experience with G2 is so far better. Sorry Valve, you developed a great VR game but your headset is not the best way to enjoy it because of the not so much satisfying quality of the visuals (depending on the headset and not on the PC hardware). Obviously, this is my personal opinion. The Index offers a smoother experience because of better tracking, the headset fits better your head and your facial features thanks to a lot of customizable adjustments, the FoV is a bit bigger. However in this kind of game the G2 tracking has nearly no issues; I had a small problem just in one short sequence, when you have to shoot the cannon: your hands are far apart and you can lose track of the one below when you aim at the enemy. And I had to slightly change my style when launching grenades; not a real problem. The G2 is quite comfortable on your head, difference with the Index is not a game changer. Even audio is quite the same, maybe Index has some more low frequencies. On the contrary the visual quality of the G2 at full resolution, without compromises, is simply mind blowing and highly immersive despite the standard FoV. And that’s a game changer and tastes as next gen! You’re always contemplating the environment and saying wow wow and wow, gee gee and gee*, your eyes watering for the joy! You feel as you are riding the frontiers of modern gaming (from a technical point of view)! Sometimes monsters are just annoying! Don’t bother me stupid zombies, I want to contemplate the scenario!! :-)

Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs
In my opinion, this is one of the best VR games I have ever played. It takes the classic formula of throwing birds at pigs, scales it up into a 3D environment and nails everything it has to.
I have played practically all of the Angry Birds games from when they initially came out, nearly an entire decade ago, and so when I saw this, I immediately had to give it a go. I was sceptical, since the original games were 2D and adding an additional dimension would, naturally, cause problems. However, this is actually one of the best parts of the game. The level design accommodates the additional 3D element by allowing most levels to have the option of taking your shots at different, predetermined locations/angles. I find this feature really well done because it continues the element of puzzles in the mobile games where it is about finding the right wood plank to destroy and analysing the structures from different viewpoints, looking for the weak-points is both engaging and satisfying when you get it right.

Sakura Spirit
This should be the only game available on steam, I don’t understand how this hasn’t been a top seller.
It has everything anyone could want in one videogame:
-Anime
-Boobs
-Wet Boobs
-Cat Girls
-Roleplaying boobs
-Stimulation boobs
-Suspense boobs
-Drama boobs
-Kawaii boobs
and the list goes on and on…
If you don’t own this game I think you’d be wise to just purchase this product, this company has really set the standard for PC gaming since this release and you can see it influence the develpoment of popular titles such as Crysis 3, Battlefield 4, Max Payne 3, Diablo 3, Bioshock: Infinite and much, much more.

“There is a charm about the forbidden that makes it unspeakably desirable.”
Mark Twain
Wait, a fox-girl?
Sakura Spirit is a wonderful story about one guy and some “special” girls. The situations are very funny and sometimes so absurd that you can’t not laugh. But and that is the point you have to know, its like you read a book or a manga or something else. A visual novel isn’t a “real” game where you can interact with your environment. You get some beautiful wallpapers from those girls that show you the current situation. But that’s all. You have only one decision in the whole game and the story ends always equal! So i only recommend it if you like to read, are interested in an unusual funny story and see some great wallpapers with some ecchi. Otherwise i can’t recommend this visual novel for you.
