Aurora Hex - Pattern Puzzles

Aurora Hex - Pattern Puzzles

aurora hex is similar to the developer’s previous game, aurorabound deluxe . you’re trying to recreate colorful patterns in both, but in this game you’re bothering hexagons instead of squares. it is also somewhat similar to loop .

Visually pleasing minimalist puzzler.

Almost same genre as jigsaw puzzles, but feels different.

UI & Visuals seem a bit more refined than the first title, while retaining a similar feel to play. :)

(Currently up to late World 1, out of 20 worlds, at time of review.

Also has Daily puzzles to unlock & Infinity mode to unlock)

Ballista Legend

Ballista Legend

Ballista Legend is an action puzzler in the style of the classic Zuma game. It is beautiful and initial play is smooth and seamless. However it seems to have a few bugs that result in the game becoming unplayable after level 3 of chapter 1 for me. I am unsure if this is due to the version of the game I received or to some fault on the part of my computer. It would also be nice if the patterns on the balls distinguished them from each other in addition to the colors as the game is not entirely colorblind accessible. I will admit that despite the flaws I am eagerly awaiting the next time I am able to play.

Koral

Koral

Side scrolling environmentally conscious educational puzzle game about coral reefs and oceans, and the human impact on both. A family friendly learning experience for any age. There is enough educational content it could be used in schools as part of a lesson. Now before anyone thinks an educational game is not fun, think again. The education is hidden among the 32 collectibles (shiny white sparkly glow balls) which explain coral reefs and oceans, and the devastation humans are causing. These collectibles can be found over 9 different oceanic environments of the 10 chapters. Each chapter has puzzle elements to them: sea currents, pollution walls, various plant and coral life, volcanic vents and cavern systems.

There are things every medium does well; each with their own potential and set of virtues. For creators, it’s about finding the best way of utilising a medium to amplify their message, whatever that may be.

The proof of gaming’s potential—be it narrative, thematic, or even educational—is now all around us. It has enormous value as an artistic medium and its growth continues to show us what games are capable of. Every year we see games taking on bolder, more innovative, and challenging forms.

Koral, a modest puzzle game with a potent environmental message, is one such form.

BLASK

BLASK

simple yet fun game.

Real player with 19.3 hrs in game

It’s the year 2002. Your friend Jason has invited you to his birthday party. “Well, I don’t really care for social–” “It’s at a laser tag arena.” “Now wait a minute.”

While you’re lurching around the arena, ordained with clunky plastic, someone quietly calls out to you. “Psst! Hey! Come ‘ere!” “Huh?!” “Come look at what Gus figured out.”

You stealth your way over to an obscure part of the arena where your friends are waiting. One of them hands you a postage stamp. “Eat this first.” You put the stump in your mouth and wait. “Now what?” “Hit it, Gus.” What does Gus do? He does something really weird with a mirror, a lightbulb, and his laser rifle. The result: BLASK.

Chickduck & Catduck

Chickduck & Catduck

This is a sweet, gentle graphic novel with side-by-side drawings of cute ducklings, nature and outdoor scenes. The object of the game is to spot the differences between the two pictures and click on them. A branch in the left scene may have 3 leaves on it and it’s matching branch in the right scene may have only 2. Most items are easy to spot…a few are very faint–nicely hidden. Game took me about 20 minutes to complete.

Certainly, parents and children would enjoy playing this together as there is no violence or hardships, just two ducklings ultimately finding each other. And there is an easy-to-use hint feature. If your little duckling is having trouble finding an object click and hold the right mouse button on the object giving him trouble and an exclamation point will pop up where the match can be found in the other picture. No penalties…just a satisfaction of completion.

It’s short and good to play on a free time. Graphics have a child style and music is so cute. It does not have a save option so you must finish the game in one road.

Santa’s Holiday

Santa’s Holiday

Very nice game. The only negative is that the blue background color on most tiles is too bright, making it harder to see matches. Regarding another user’s review, it didn’t get stuck after the 3rd level for me. No bugs so far at all.

Green Sauce Games does it again!

They are on my auto-purchase list, and Santa’s Holiday doesn’t disappoint! It has the Match 3 benefits that you’ve come to know and love - powerups, obstacles, story, and building. The game rewards you with decorating a room using the coins accumulated EXCEPT that you can position the decorations anywhere in the room that you prefer (with some exceptions). That’s new.

Beautiful tiles and graphics, festive music, interesting puzzles … this is definitely a fun holiday Match 3 game.

Areia: Pathway to Dawn

Areia: Pathway to Dawn

This is a beautiful light platformer with a touch of a walking simulator. A relaxing and immersive game with a heavy spiritual overtone to it with Hinduistic and Buddhist influences. It reminded me of Ancient Knowledge and other reviewers have mentioned Journey which is on my wishlist.

This is not a walk in the park as you have to work your way through different environments and challenges on your way to enlightenment. That sounds really heavy, but the game is quite light and enjoyable.

Music is lovely with Indian overtones to it, but it did wear thin after a while. I only got half of the achievements despite going back in to hunt for them. Dunno where they were?!

Real player with 9.0 hrs in game

So this is a tough one, while technically I give the game a thumbs up - you might find it not worth your time.

Quick score: music 9/10, graphics 8/10, atmosphere 9/10, gameplay 5/10, story n/a

This is supposed to be a “deep” game to make you think, reflect etc. in this for me it failed - it offers a few “contemplation points” where you sit and get 2 lines of text, this text while apparently supposed to be philosophical is rather non-sensical and does not make me find any deeper meaning in it - despite me being rather open to such ideas. What make this even worse is a rather unsatisfying ending(I am not even sure what its supposed to mean if anything).. it does have a “to be continued” so maybe in an expansion or update we will get more.

Blind Souls

I like this game and the atmosphere in it.

This is what you need after a hard day’s work!

She soothes and the whole game process is like a meditation.

  • Graphics. Traced details of delights me, it is so magical and beautiful, as if you are really on nature. Grass, water, trees, stunning views that one after another can be put on the desktop.* Music. It relaxing, but at the same time keeps you awake. The sounds of nature are really real and not sharp.* Gameplay. Very pleased that the game will not hurry you and you can enjoy as much as you want the surrounding nature. There is a fairly simple gameplay and maybe not everyone will appreciate it. However, drawing pictures while listening to the story and exploring the surroundings is very interesting and relaxing.
