Redneck Ed: Astro Monsters Show

Redneck Ed: Astro Master Show takes place in a fantasy universe where aliens abduct people, creatures, and beings to make them fight for their amusement.

A fascinating story concept, which would be a waste if the gameplay wasn’t up to it; luckily it is. The gameplay is simple with a fun level progression system and a ton of goofy funky-looking opponents to beat up.

--- Disclaimer: A copy of this game was provided by the developer. Redneck Ed: Astro Monsters Show is an arcade fighting platformer arena game. The game nails the cartoonish graphics and animations. This is the one thing I can't complain about. The music is good, but sound effects are missing for certain actions leaving you unsatisfied. Sometimes both music and sounds bug out and restart after a few seconds. There's 15 arena levels to choose from, each having 3 difficulties with 2 challenges per difficulty. The good thing is that each arena feels different enough to offer interesting challenges whether it's waves of enemies, environment or boss battles. The balance is where it goes wrong, some of them feel good, some boring and some feel extremely hard to complete. To progress to new arenas you will need to have played higher difficulties and perform the certain challenges. Besides needing enough stars to unlock new arenas, you will also need to learn the new moves that allow you to complete them at all. Another balance issue is the power creep where the new abilities end up being used and the old ones mostly forgotten. *– [Real player with 8.3 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198022564688)* --- ![Dusty Revenge:Co-Op Edition](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/252430/header.jpg "") ## Dusty Revenge:Co-Op Edition Dusty REvenge: co-op i'll start off with the bad. P.S. This is my first review. Cons. This game has alot of problems from the Shaky cam; to the framerate dorp when your playing with another person, and finally the voice acting. Last but not least the fact that you need to download openAL just to get the sound working. But strangely i have to recommend this game if you can get passed that like i did. Pros The Combat is really good but not too easy where it's just buttion mashing. The cutscenes and art in the levels look really well done. *– [Real player with 40.9 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198046287910)* ---

--- I’ll start by stating that this game is truly addictive and captivating. Why? I believe many of those who have tried this game had realized that the combo system is pretty well thought out. 1) The number of variations it has is amazing - For each level your character gains, there would be roughly 3 moves to play around with. 2) It easy to pick up - a leveling system was cleverly put in place so that players get to master their current moves and think of ways to use them before leveling up. The SUPPORT in this game isn’t anything like a cheap bomb clearing the entire screen of enemies. It allows an alternative way to play this game with clever obstacles that require you to use them. Trust me, if you play hard you would definitely use them pretty often. *– [Real player with 13.9 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198003523409)* --- ![Advent NEON®](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1528260/header.jpg "") ## Advent NEON® ![](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1528260/extras/fast_fluid_freedom.png?t=1631544758) Take to Neopolis as Neon, punching your way through all manner of robot to get your creator's body back. The difficulty it's good, a fast paced platformer! •**Art/ Visuals**: Great style! creepy and cute at the same time, the characters are funny, the colors, i love it! •**Music/ Sounds**: The music gives a cool ambient for the game, goes hand in hand with the art, the sounds are perfect, so consistent and creepy too! I gave this game my best attempt, but stage 4 they are so suicidal it's annoying and no longer worth the effort. Dialogue at the start is WAY too fast as well. This is just personal preference, but I really wish you had to platform to the enemies instead of being able to dash through platforms with your slash. I like the concept of the game and when it works it's pretty dang cool I like it enough I'm not going to refund it even though it's broken, but as it is right now absolutely cannot recommend game is broken. *– [Real player with 0.8 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198043918784)* --- ![3dSen PC](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1147940/header.jpg "") ## 3dSen PC 3DSen is one of the greatest emulators I have ever used. Keep in mind that this emulator does not come with roms, you will need to provide those yourself. This emulator works great I haven't encountered any graphical glitches or slow down. The 3D looks really good too. It really looks and feels 3D, and it only uses the rom of the game your playing. There are a least 70 games that support 3D, just link a rom to the correct profile and you're ready to go. The 2D mode works well too. If a game doesn't have 3D support yet you can load the game in 2D mode. 2D mode allows you to play the game in it's original 2D pixels. I tried games that don't support 3D and they work great. They run at full speed and graphics look great. I even tried mods like SMB Peach Edition. I recommend running these in 2D mode so it doesn't cause issues with the SMB 3D profile. I haven't tested SMB mods with the 3d profile. In the end I can't recommend this emulator enough. *– [Real player with 21.6 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198034967579)* For someone who grew up with NES and games like Zelda, Mario, Mega Man and Faxanadu and who still plays those classics occasionally, this little piece of emulator software seemed very intriquing from the day I heard about, which was way before the launch day. I participated to beta testing, so my time with it is much more than that almost 8 hours that Steam shows. I have to mention that I'm also a big fan of stereoscopic gaming and Nvidia's 3D Vision, so when I got 3DSen to work in stereoscopic 3d it was like a dream come true: Finally I got to play those childhood classics the way I play games these days! *– [Real player with 11.2 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198237129338)* --- ![Cat's Cradle](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1472040/header.jpg "") ## Cat's Cradle "Cat's Cradle" is splendid. Gold Edition](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/214770/header.jpg "") ## Guacamelee! Gold Edition This game is a love song to Super Metroid played by a nerdy mariachi band. Instead of an arm cannon, you use your fists. Instead of a morph ball, you turn into a chicken. Instead of color-coded doors to be opened with the appropriate weapon, there are colored blocks to be smashed with your varied slam attacks. You even gain your powers by destroying precious Chozo statues (more on that later.) The best part of this game, hands down, is the combat. The multitude of useful attacks at your disposal, combined with the responsive dodging mechanic and the fun and powerful grapples means that the combo system is both useful and rewarding. Battles in this game just resonate with me as being really fun, as you can bash some skeletons around, throw them into other skeletons, and just keep it going as the numbers on your screen go up and up and you get a bigger money reward when the fight is finished. It's just really fun, and the enemies are well designed to let you take advantage of combos and such if you're good. *– [Real player with 25.4 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198028114127)* **-Quick Review-** Guacamelee! Gold Edition is an action, adventure, 2D, indie platformer that has strong Spanish/Mexican themes. Not only that, but there are hilarious cross-game-references. The game play is fun, fast paced, and dynamic. I greatly enjoyed this game, and recommend it to anyone who enjoys indie adventure-type games. **-Detailed breakdown review-** **Story:** You are Juan, you are trying to save el presidente’s daughter (whom everyone tells you that you’ve had a crush on since you were little. Everyone knows but me?) The villain Calaca has taken her and Juan must master his powers as a Lunchador to save not only el presidente’s daughter, but to also save both the world of the living and the dead. *– [Real player with 23.6 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198014163253)* --- ![HAUNTED: Halloween '86 (The Curse Of Possum Hollow)](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/607490/header.jpg "") ## HAUNTED: Halloween '86 (The Curse Of Possum Hollow) Just to disclose, I met the devs at PAX East and got a review copy of Haunted Halloween: 86'. I play alot of retro games on my stream, and when i picked up my controller to play HH86 thats just what i got. It is an NES era game through and through. The level design, the character design, even the music harken back to the days where you would spend minutes blowing into a cartridge before getting the game to work. Overall I really enjoyed the story and the skills that you unlock every level to make your journey even more exciting! *– [Real player with 92.2 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198086101213)* Such a great brawler / beat 'em up! Have it on NES, but had to pick it up for steam as well. Love the setting, changing environments, boss battles, and the music. The game has a good mix of platforming with the brawler style to keep it interesting the entire time. Even though the settling is Halloween themed, you will pick this up to play anytime of the year and enjoy it just as much. Controls are easy to get used to and you unlock new abilities along the way as you progress in levels. Your new abilities can be used for both of your characters, brother and sister (you can switch on the fly). The bosses offer quite a bit of a challenge. Pay attention to their patterns and what is available on screen and you will make it through them eventually. All and all, highly recommend this game. *– [Real player with 6.8 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561199095573774)* --- ![Paw Paw Paw](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1037910/header.jpg "") ## Paw Paw Paw Disclaimer: A copy of this game was provided by the publisher. Paw Paw Paw is a beat em up about the Antipants revolution inspired by Castle Crashers. Most of the combat revolves around staggering, both the player and the enemies can repetitively attack to keep their enemy from taking action. Early in the game, the enemies take a lot of hits until the damage is upgraded. Surprisingly destroying chests/trees and other destructibles that drop items take too many hits. Some later enemies and bosses can't be staggered which makes them challenging. *– [Real player with 26.0 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198022564688)* Personally enjoyed this game A TON! If you enjoyed Castle Crashers back in the day, this game will give you a decent reminder of all the excitement that came within that game! Not only are there multiple characters to play as, but also classes to choose from that each have their own benefits. Each class has a few characters that "match" that class in which these said characters will have the same abilities. This game is great for those who like to play Local Multiplayer! Got some friends to play over Remote Play? This game is compatible with that too! The game doesn't get any easier with more people, but it does become more enjoyable as a group! Personal favorite class is Barbarian (Slow hitter, but HEAVY DAMAGE!!!). Classes reach a certain point and get an "Upgrade" to make the abilities is even BETTER! I say it many times, and I'll say it again, this game reminds me a TON of Castle Crashers, but I feel like the concept was even BETTER than before! *– [Real player with 20.8 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198255314285)* ---
