NBA 2K22

NBA 2K22

I have failed and once again contributed to the annual money bucket scrap pile that is the NBA 2K series. The last 2K I purchased was 2K19, and for years I purchased the brand new 2K. I purchased every new 2K from 2K14 through 2K19 and did have plentiful fun with friends. However, with my friends having moved away from this game like so many others, I find it more infuriating than normal. It is the same game it was in 2K15 as not much has changed…

Here I will lay out a few things which are IDENTICAL to previous 2K titles, or essentially the things that matter…

1. Not next gen, even though pc graphics way better then console

2. Same game as last year, literally, same game

3. Poorest flow of movement in sports game today

4.Fouls are worse this year then any previous year, funny that NBA changed the ruling on fouls but 2k22 must not have gotten the memo

5.They said they improved defense, false, they made offense actually worse

6.Still have done nothing about the cheaters in the game, seriously someone made it to level 40 in a hour that a new season has been released?

  • Tear Dropper is hands down the most useless badge in the game

  • Light contested layups are going in at a better rate than open layups

  • Your chances of hitting shots increase as you move further away from the rim

  • Players are being heavily penalized for not being able to time millisecond timing windows on inside shots with multiple animations that trigger randomly

  • Midrange jumpers having a lower timing window than 3pt jumpers

  • The most valuable shot in the game is the most reliable shot, the quickest field goal attempt, and the shot that requires the least amount of space to get off (3ball)

Update: after a bazillion hours in on this game (where I only care about MyCareer mode - looking for some escapist fun) I get my player to level 90. I have maxed out the mid-range dead eye badge and for mysterious reasons, the game now tanks my player performance across the board. It played more fun as a 70 ovr player. I had games scoring 20-30 points with a handsome amount of assists and rebounds but now I can’t sink any shots, no matter how good my look or how full my shot meter. In-game, it never gives me green but I still manage to fill the shot meter damn near perfectly. And even with a character whose supposed to be about as deadly a mid-range shooter as ever existed … I get abso-frickin-lutely nothing. I have never been so angry at a video game as when it turned on me like this. Don’t buy this thing if you thought you’d have fun with MyCareer. It is just awful.

PBA Basketball Slam: Arcade Edition

PBA Basketball Slam: Arcade Edition

I’ve been playing PBA Basketball for a few hours now and I’m still hoping to unlock the campaign element to this game. I also don’t know much about PBA, but I love that it’s like NBA Jam. I wish there were more scenes to go to, more players and other options other than just Quick Match. It got old really fast. Hopefully there will be an update to this and I can give it a better review. However, I do recommend it. But I would recommend it more if I could do more things.

Same shit as the mobile version. But they did literally nothing to the game. Balance doesn’t make sense either.

This game is the best basketball game in VR BY MILES. Yes, it is early access so it will be not super polished at times but its still a very enjoyable experience, the devs are very open to the community, this game is worth the $10 for sure and im very happy to see where it goes in the future.

Background of me:

I spent around $200 on this game for its gamble like draws to aquire items.

I have 1 lvl 50 character(max) , 2 level 40 characters.

I have some great friends to play this game with.

–—————————————————————————-

Recently after i obtained indepth knowledge of this game, I have to tell you this game is filled with Pay to Win cash players and hackers. After exiting the rookie channel, Every game you play, you will face either P2W players or hackers. Maybe at peak hour you can find some normal players. I don’t know p2w, but the hacks are getting out of hands and it really destoryes the gaming experience and the game company is not doing anything to punish the hackers. This game is going down hill, with very few player base. Even at peak hour you owuld see about 30 games.

Dead game like Freestyle 2: Street Basketball

After a certain level like F2:SB you play with all the higher level players that have all the unlock of most of them. Better abilities skills etc. It is at level 10.

After level 15, you get matched up with max level players, with no near any missed shots

Pay-to-win game, can’t win if you miss events, etc. you will be too far behind.

Too low population will match with higher levels that can always win against you.

Dead game about 100 ish players on steam population.

What a real pity. I had read the reviews before trying the game and I hesitated to try it for quite a while fearing it truly was Pay to Win. But in the end due to a serious lack of street basketball games I surrendered and played the game for about 2 weeks, every day.

Now I know all those reviews were right. The game is ok for the first 10 levels or so. It looks fine despite there’s no full support to controllers. At first, despite the messy UI and bugs the game itself is fun enough for you to start considering investing some money.

NBA 2K21

NBA 2K21

The hands down worst game series is back with another carbon copy of its predecessor. I could just copy-paste my NBA 2k20 review, but that would be hypocritical.

I remember listing the recurring bugs and the most glaring defects in my early reviews. Perhaps the most annoying, recurring, bug is the automatic playcalling bug: There’s a switch in the options to toggle the playcalling from automatic to manual. The switch doesn’t work, still. An ongoing bug for some five years now. I’ve personally reported this bug for countless of times directly to the 2k “support”, with the same answer: It will be repaired in the next “version” of the “game”. If these are just yearly versions of the game, why do we pay 60 € for it? The number one disgusting “feature” of the game is the so-called personal power field: The basketball players on the court cannot really collide with their bodies, ever. There’s an invisible power field surrounding every player, which prevents collisions. And it prevents the realism of physics happening, unfortunately as well. Some old basketball computer games around 15 years ago displayed this horrendous feature. It was quickly removed. Until 2k games wanted to ruin the only NBA game franchise for PC for several years with that retarded feature. These are just examples, to give you an idea how low the standards are in every step of the production chain. Just to add a few…the pick’n’roll ball defender still tries to go under the screen, all these years after Steph Curry changed the league; You, or any of your teammates, are unable to tip the ball to the hoop off a rebound, only CPU’s team can; The animation gaps between you actually being able to control your player are so long. The list goes on and on. I don’t think one, single, area of this game is well, or even fairly produced. Every facet of the game is a fail.

Real player with 1108.9 hrs in game

It would honestly be fair to call 2K an evil company at this point. There are only two options; either the company is staffed solely by incompetent developers who are incapable of creating a functioning game OR, much more likely, they knowingly, annually, decide to tighten the screws of their monopoly around the heads of literally millions of kids who shell out billions of dollars in revenue to this company every year.

We can talk about rampant cheating, abysmal AI, or the horrific optimization that is sure to make even a beginer-level programmer cry himself to sleep. I, however, think it is much more interesting to talk about the scam itself: to purposefully make the game unbearable throughout every facet of its gameplay. The sheer malignance of such behavor is difficult to understand for normal people, but here it is important to understand how financial incentives choke the life out of every argument for game improvements that is not bounded in optimizing the “revenue stream.”

If you are a fan of games such as Rocket League and enjoy FPS games (you don’t specifically have to enjoy FPS games) I can recommend you giving this a try.

Before jumping into public games I recommend joining the discord of the game https://discord.com/invite/protoball you can find this link at the bottom of the main menu of the game. There is a Tutorials section that contains guides from experienced players in the game that will teach you things that the tutorial doesn’t get to yet.

Doing the tutorial is also a recommendation but you could encounter a “bug” that isn’t actually a bug.

Protoball,

Oh boy where do I begin here, I’ve been in the arena since the early days of development so I’ve gotta admit I’m a bit biased towards the concept of the game. Given that, it has a high replay-ability and it keeps me coming back to be the best player I can be in the earliest stages of what I see to be a great future competitive eSport. As a person who frequents FPS games like Valorant, CS:GO, Apex and Rocket League, I find this to be of the same repeat-ability and enjoyment to just hop in a game for both fun and competitive play styles. Sure there may be some bugs here and there, but that’s what being a part of the Early Access is for. We’ve gotta smooth out the experience for others to enjoy the underlying game we all love and know can be successful. At this point, I as well as many others are committed to bringing you the best enjoyment out of this game as humanly possible. So join a server and come along for the ride. As for the Dev team, you know I love you guys and I’ll never stop coming back to Protoball, we’re in it for the long haul!

All-In-One Sports VR

All-In-One Sports VR

This VR sports game has a nice assortment of 10 sports games for the price of 1. When I first started the game, it had a nice fun game assortment of options to chose from. I’ve played each sports game with various different opinions on each one.

1.Archery: This sport is nice and relaxing just requires you to aim towards the target. Like that’s they’re other factors that could cause you to be less accurate on shots. Requires more skill to actually aim towards the target.

2.Billard: This is a fun and relaxing game. I like that there’s an indication to telling if you going to hit one of the balls or the direction of where the ball could land. All in all good, but make it so when you’re viewing your opponent’s turn you can move easier around the table.

Ok so. i have almost all of the standalone appnori games. They were always pretty good but this is probably the one you want to get now that it has a ridiculous amount more content.

Only downsides is the artstyle here is more Chibi so some events everything is super sized.

I think there’s a lot of content if you’re into only scoreboard or just beating the AI. Haven’t tried multiplayer.

In general all of the sports “work” there’s no control issues. Controls are really polished it’s just on the arcade side. So some sports like golf there are way better more realistic golf games out there.
