Edit.

After playing for several days i can tell there is no content. I mean the content this genre had 10 years ago is present, but not improved at all. You can lvl up base to 25 and that’s it. The only activitity for you is to try and beat others in different rankings, which is impossible due to existance of whales who can pay 10k+ $ monthly. Just in 2-3 days the ammount of time to upgrade or research something reached 20+ hours, so without constant speed ups there is nothing much to do about it. And by speeding up you pretty much cheating levels and reach end-game in hours, after which there is nothing else to do.

Send one squad to clear the roads send one to scavenge send one to build at camp send one in different zones to scout yea this is my jam love the game. Does have a learning curve that will frustrate a few players i my self took it as a challenge ( scratched my head for a bit trying to get my team to unload vehicle into warehouse side note they wont unload whats not clicked to unload open vehicle inventory and select items you want to transfer) . Vehicles is the key to survive do not use a slow van to clear the packs use a fast one and drift! takes practice but works use the back of the vehicle to take them out if a zed is behind you on the right side make a left and a right if its on the rear left do not drive away from them and then turn around and drive right into them that will kill the vehicle fast. Different survivors have different skills and buffs use those fast ones to break up a large pack of zed and let them chase you back to your vehicle to take out (thin the herd) speed 10 survivors cant be caught when running away. There is a lot to this game i barely made it to the industrial zone and sank 20 hours playing, remember to put on backpacks walkie talkies and head lamps when you find them and more cloths to increase your resistance and train when you learn how to make training buildings just know the dead will come for you at your camp when its big enough they will notice and you will have to defend from raids. Having a blast with this game i highly recommend.Just a side note where you start is not the only camp you can make, that one is not to good the warehouse is to far from the vehicles that need to be unloaded use the one in the farm lands.have fun i know i will.

Great game. Somewhere between Project zomboid and state of decay. Took me awhile to get the hang of the User interface and basically not getting eaten. But if you stick with it you will see a unique zombie survival experience. Great resource management system. The Dev is very busy adding improvements and updates based on community questions and peeves.

Train your people! I waited to long to get my training going and making everyone capable of protecting themselves. One thing I love is once you have a well armed-trained group and a couple of armored vehicles, scavenging becomes something different. I send out a caravan of several armored vehicles and the game starts to feel like an RTS.

State of Decay: YOSE

State of Decay: YOSE

I originally got State of Decay and then, later, when it was on sale, picked up the YOSE version. This is my updated review for the YOSE version.

The game is a single-player third-person zombie apocalypse sandbox of sorts: while the main game has a storyline to follow, you certainly don’t need to follow it and the story won’t advance until you do, giving you a lot of time to just poke around. I have enjoyed the game very much. It’s certainly interesting enough to play and while it starts out reasonably tame, it can get quite difficult.

While I support everyone’s cause to end developers with the $$ in their eyes, this is clearly not the right title to be doing it on and the people doing so are misguided.

TL;DR - Developers (who made the game) have no control over the business practice as this still is a Microsoft-published/controlled title. It’s a stretch that Microsoft even let this game go on Steam, so don’t expect any official support beyond what was already offered. Undead Labs are just the ‘ideas people’ who took advantage of a system that let them start small on the console market. This game was never expected to succeed how it did. This is the remaster of a previously 2-gig sized game, and you are getting out of it what you are willing to pay for it.

Blood Waves

Blood Waves

Blood Waves (BW in short) develope and published by Light Road Games. On steam, the PC version was released on 12/05/2018 however according to Metacritic (http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/blood-waves ) it shows the PC version was released on 27/11/2017. A mismatch of information. As of this writing, there are no feedback on Metacritic for BW.

I am writing this as of update 0.410 with just 2.6 hours into the game and have not completed/experience what the product has to offer, substantially this is definately too early to write BUT because the developer is still updating the product at this stage, I intend to push this writing out ASAP for the devs to consider some idea(s) to work on.

Didn’t go into this one with much to ask , just something to enjoy and play.

And that’s sort of what i got with Blood Waves , it’s a straightforward 3rd person survival shooter which feels like playing Resident Evil of sorts.

You have a skilltree where you get 1point per wave you finish , and money after each wave , to purchase weapons and upgrades.

Now let me start with saying that the Skilltree is busted , you can stack damage reduction , you get up to 6% of your max hp PER SECOND regenerated and then you have the classics like stamina increase , headshot dmg multiplier you know the good stuff.

I have finish playing the campaign and its a learning process. This game is like a soul like RTS game, one zombie gets in or penetrate your defenses and the whole thing could get out of control. I understand on why some gamers gave a negative review of these game, you could have invested 2 to 4 hours in your campaign or survival building your city and thenone zombie sneaks in or overwhelm your defenses and the whole thing is game over. It has no backward save, so there is no second opportunity on your mistake. I know because it did happen to me several times, but I think its unfair to immediately give a negative review, because of being defeated. The hero mission on the campaign is actually good, but it takes patience and planning, also paying attention, so you can find all the treasure. Overall, I find the game very challenging, but in a reasonable matter. Its just you have to get good in playing this game.

Real player with 214.8 hrs in game

Tedious and frustrating don’t even begin to describe this game.

I’ve tried playing this game several times. Each time I have, I find that my hours of investment are promptly wasted when I make one mistake that leads to an inevitable game over. This game is very very difficult, even on the more “accessible” levels; you have to balance manpower, energy, food, and material resources all while slowly expanding, and clearing out areas of zombies. The problem is that if even one zombie slips past your defenses they can infect your entire base in seconds.

I like the gameplay aspects of it like the ability to upgrade blocks and build as you see fit. The selection for weapons is good, the skill tree is also good but i feel like it is too easy too level up. i would like to see either slower xp gain or more skills in the skill tree. I like the boss battles but the level 40 boss is really difficult and i feel like we should get more time to prepare like adding more waves and having that boss come later in the game. i would like to see more bosses added too. Survival is cool but the zombie spawning doesnt work so you kind of just run around like an idiot and have nothing to kill. the game is really good but a lot of aspects need improvement.

Fun little game that cost you less than a can of Spam. Ideally better with friends but it can still entertain you if you’re at work pretending to be busy.

Pros:

Can be bought with money from selling steam badges

Nice sound effects and smooth animations

Has an endless mode

Telent tree that saves exp and upgrades to your profile

Cons:

I have no idea what this has to do with Bitcoin

Zombie AI seems to only be able to brute force its way to kill you, thus zombies are easily routed

Single player boss fights can be much more difficult than multiplayer

I can not say enough good about this game. I not long ago was FORCED into buying a new PC ( my rig died ) ended up with a HP generic, good lill rig for what she is. However I can not put in a graphics card, It’s a power source thing. BUT THIS GAME 0 M G it runs so sweet and looks so good ( i even play it at work and the PC’s there well let me tell you…..).

now for the game play. found the controls a little “wonkie” at first but once you allow yourself to become one with the force it aint all THAT bad. The sound well i find it a little off not bad mind you i just wish there was a “mixing board thingy” so things like footsteps could be increased. There might be something i don’t know about but um i wish there was a pause, i missed out and a boat because the real world pop’d it’s ugly head. But once you get over all that it’s one damn fine game, i get lost in this thing for hour’s on end. NO REGRETS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

haha- they got me! i was 100% sure this was a port of the Android game “Last Day on Earth: Survival” - i used to be addicted to THAT game when i was in school back in 2016 or so. same style, same game systems, combat systems, crafting systems, map system, world events- if you dont look close, the assets seem almost identical to Last Day alpha assets. is this game not in any way connected to that game? i suppose LifeZ is published by iDs Games, and Last Day is Kefir Games? Last Day is still in Beta after like 3 years, and this new LifeZ is pounding through Alpha ATM? wut. this is our world now i guess.

Night of the Dead

Night of the Dead

Night of the Dead is a great “Tower Defense” game. Yes it has “Open World Survival Craft” but you need to understand this is a “Tower Defense” game first.

So I played this game when it first came out and I really liked it. It had a good foundation to build upon. Yes it was a bit buggy in spots. I finished the story then set the game aside for a while.

I have now returned to the game after the big Electric Update (Dev #5).

I have to say I am blown away by what was added and changed in this game for the good.

First of all, let me start off by admitting that I am absolutely a soft touch when it comes to indie games. I’ll forgive them for things I’d never accept from a AAA design studio, and with good reason. It takes so much guts to be an indie designer, to go out there with nothing but passion and a dream and make something that other people are happy to spend hours of their life playing.

Night of the Dead is very much a work in progress, and it doesn’t pretend to be otherwise. But, every masterpiece has to start off with a rough draft to begin with before you can polish it up. And that’s what we’re lucky enough to have the opportunity to play here: A diamond in the rough.

State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition

State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition

I exclusively played the game only on Lethal, I’ve never dipped my toes into any other difficulty, ever. The balance in terms of gameplay is honestly pretty good, you pay for your own mistakes most of the time. You sometimes drive over a bloater on a low-health character, or you fail to GTFO when SHTF, choosing to stay behind and risk your life, sometimes at the cost of it. It’s easy to break line of sight and lose a horde of zombies, and while Ferals are vastly overpowered and unreasonable, you can cheese them by Dropkicking them or shooting their heads from atop cars. I suspect other skills effect Ferals the same way Dropkick does, too. Overall it’s easy to survive if you’re focused, and it’s easy to die whenever there’s a lapse.
