Phos

You play as a robot colonizer that has been sent out to an alien planet with one goal. Harvest its resources and send them back home. To accomplish this you must build a base on the planet. As your base develops you will be able to build more advanced structures to harvest at an increased scale. And eventually you will be able to accomplish your goal to start sending resources back to your mother planet. But the native inhabitants of the planet won’t sit idly by as you strip their world of its resources.

I HAVE mixed opinions with the game, on the one hand it seems to me an excellent game with very good mechanics in most cases (not all, some are grossly absurd) I like the customization of the character that is not extensive but for a 2d game it is good, a large map that invites you to discover it, but now come the negative points that unfortunately are many:

1 / some mechanics do not make much sense, things like artificial firewood logs have a relatively high cost in the early game phase for the small amount and the time they last to burn, in terms of the medium, wild creatures with absurd damage, A javali takes 1/4 of your life with a tier 4 armor, armor and durability system too short, I understand that it is a game that encourages crafting but they pass in terms of the durability of weapons, armor and several other things.

Short version

A pretty polished game for an Early Access title. PvP are pretty much a full-fledged game at this point, PvE however still needs some late game contents. Download the demo and try it for 8 hrs and judge it for yourself.

Long version

GRAPHICS : I gotta be honest, my first impression of Cryofall is not that great. The character and animation felt kind of “cheap”, like the type of designs you often sees in Freemium mobile games. There’s a variety of avatar faces to choose from, but they all have the same default “idle” expression. They’re by no means “ugly”, just a tad bit uninspired. The environmental, structure and creature designs however, looks great. You can tell the artist puts a lot of time and effort into it, plus the character design started to grow on me after a couple of hours of gameplay. So, eh. It’s alright.

I only played two runs, it doesnt have mods, and it doesnt have online, yet. its amazing but has some issues, its a perfect blend of defense vs resource gathering. i mean, its so easy to make it where focusing even slightly too much into defense means you run out of money and vice versa, this game really is lenient in both aspects. Youre defense do far more than you think they would while not being a one and done, and once you figure out the mechanics of the gold farm (ie: the tutorial does not tell you that your gold storage can fill up even if you have not hit max bank) then you realize how quickly you can bring in the gold for even the pricey items! but theres the problem, i’ve tried twice now, and even on lowest shaders and no spinning blocks, the game lags to hell and back when you have a base that starts getting towards the edge of the map (so a really big base) it will lag you to hell and back. and wants it lags bad enough, bugs occur, i was managing my heat just fine, and my heat went for -200 ( –thats normal) to 40k in a single frame and sent so many enemies my game froze and by the time i could get it to register anything i had died.As a defense game lover, 9/10 absolutely love it for the gameplay, will certainly be a 10/10 after a few more updates. but dear god i doubt they’ll be able to optimize it enough to get rid of the lag considering the low amount of buildings i had.

Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation

Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation

This is the first review I have ever felt compelled to write. Then again, this is the first game in a long time that has made me this aggravated. The premise of the game is sound and the visual effects are appealing but in the end, the software is simply buggy and incomplete and its apologists paint a false picture of its nature. In my opinion, Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation should still be in beta testing.

First, allow me to state that I am a avid fan of Supreme Commander. Like many others, I was enticed by the constant flow of comparisons between Ashes and Supreme Commander and decided to purchase Ashes and judge for myself. Please listen very carefully to me when I say that there is no comparison. In Supreme Commander, one may effortlessly conduct their bloody maelstrom of war in true strategic fashion on vast 81x81km maps. One may wield thousands of units in battle over sprawling plains, clear skies, and open oceans. All players are at the mercy of nuclear missiles, long-range heavy artillery, and titanic, robotic colossi designed to reach across the sheer expanse of the most popular maps and touch some poor, naive soul. All of this grandeur could be witnessed at once from a comprehensive, strategic overview replete with toggles for intelligence radii, weapon radii by type, unit movement queues and patrol routes, and locations at which units are taking damage.

A fun experience with problems.

The Good:

Large scale conflict that runs on my potato with few issues.

Fairly decent campaign with fairly interesting characters and missions.

Hover armies have grown on me.

Decent selection of maps.

Good selection of units between the factions, even if their roles are unclear in the text box.

Army system where units are organised into armies and will micro themselves accordingly (I never use the queue for brining in certain troops to an army however, I prefer to be using my factories at all times making a collection of units and counters.)

Pirate Simulator

Pirate Simulator

  • Build your ship

Start as a rookie sailor on a boat as tiny as a canoe and use your smart pirate moves to buy, craft or “arrange” add-ons for your dream vessel. Replace necessary parts, attach equipment needed for rides, focus on speed or durability, choose your own style of ruling the seas!

  • Gather the crew

Galleons are great, but you need a crew to run it. Visit towns and harbors along your way, have a pint or five and recruit a crew that will make you a real pirate!

  • Extend your base

Whether it’s trading, looting or finding treasures, you need to collect and stack your goods somewhere. When you spot this perfect place on a beach or inside a cave, claim it and take care of infrastructure and buildings to make your company thrive.

  • Find treasures

…and a way to look for them. You can turn every rock upside down and check every inch of the sea bottom, but if time is a factor, try searching for other pirates, merchants and shady people who may know a few stories about hidden chests.

  • Go on a ride

As it happens sometimes - a pirate won’t make a living from the trade alone and needs to incorporate a bit more dynamic forms of getting the necessary resources. On the seas, you might meet other fellow ships that just carry too much goods not to loot them. Way more efficient than honestly earned money.

Become a pirate! Arr!

So i see most reviews are from people with 2 hours so i will be the first actual player to write a real review, let me start by saying the game is free, you can choose to play for absolutely nothing, now that being said, just like any other game released on steam, you can pay for more, are there expensive single cards in the shop? yes. do you need to buy them? no. should you buy them? no.

This is a strategy game, if you aren’t good at strategy you will lose a lot, the strategy lacks a lot of depth but it is there, and you can really notice the difference once you figure out a play style and learn to counter different things. it is the general nature of a card game to know that one specific card will not beat another, if you cannot learn this you will not find success in this game.

Hmm were to start ?

First at all it not really PTW it has elements like the most games in steam , you can reach even all cards ( right now common , uncomman , rare , epic , legandary ) in only playing the story line , with all i mean even the legendary and you have to pay nothing for … its right that there are cards with 15 $ or 30 $ , but do you have to buy them - no … so before act like a cry baby ( as a read the most negativ reviews with not really a background ) , try to get some knowledge over the game , before speak up again , to pay for a game and think you would be NO.1 will never work without knowledge , … so in all - its a nice game not perfect , its new , the art style is awsome you can collect card pieces (copie from your card) to make your card stronger and the animation changes too , there permanent new events - the are allways free , give it a try ; )

Make moral decisions as you befriend or kill other players who may be able to help you or bring death to you.

Ever since I was born, around 12 years of age, I have dreamed of a game where I could build my base, raid the enemy, and fight for scrap. Fortify my team’s base with traps, walls, barbed wire, and turrets, scavenge scrap from mechs and craft explosives. Who is that on the phone? Ring ring? Oh why hell, it’s konami, they want Hideo Kojima back.
