Hell Loop

Hell Loop

Enjoyable.

Pros:

  • It’s fun to find effective strategies.

  • The “no escape” mode is very challenging and fun.

Cons:

  • Your trap choices can make some playthroughs on higher difficulty impossible.

  • Difficulty levels are hidden in main menu.

The game is pretty great as a tower defense + strategy game. The drawings are perfect and looks pretty great for your eyes, you can’t wait that much from a platformer. However sinners can scream and that would make you feel like you’re a real Evil LMAO. However, traps are pretty enough to kill all the sinners. I had one problem with achievements. I tried many things to solve it but I didn’t had achievements while I was completing them. Contacted developer about that and he said yeah there can be a bug about achievements which will be solved %100.

Blight

Blight

Blight is an extremely challenging and realistic single-player top-down perspective survival game.

The Blight

A mysterious new disease called the Blight has descended upon the land. You have managed to escape its devastating effects as it has consumed your village and left it to ruins - You now find yourself alone in the wilderness, tired and hungry. You’ve bought yourself some time, but for how long? The Blight grows larger every day, consuming everything in sight…

Realism

The game strives on providing a punishingly realistic and immersive experience with a ton of depth. Actions like chopping trees and cooking food take a lot of precious time. You can only carry a few things at a time. You need to boil water to make sure it’s safe to drink. Water and other liquids need to be carried in bowls and other containers, and will spill out if not transported securely. You will need to scavenge numerous raw materials, many of which will need to be processed, combined, treated or hardened to make tools, items and structures.

Challenge

The Blight is just one of many threats to your existence in the unforgiving wilderness. After quickly setting up camp you will constantly need to keep yourself well fed and hydrated, replenish lost energy with sleep and short rests, defend yourself from the wild beasts that still inhabit the woods, heal your wounds, protect yourself from the harsh elements, and figure out a way to somehow end this terrible disease. Almost everything in the procedurally generated world can and will kill you if you aren’t careful.

There are whispers of Druids in a far off land that may know more about the Blight…

Upcoming Features

The demo is currently live! You can download it to try out most of what the game has to offer and the level of realism/depth it’s going for. The next big update for the game in the current alpha testing phase is called The Story Update. It’s coming in the next few months and it will contain all these new things:

  • Beginnings of the story around the Blight, where it came from, how to cure it, resources to collect, etc

  • Village and road generation, with a compass to aid with navigation in Realistic mode

  • More unique locations in the world where various resources are more abundant

  • Ranged weapons such as throwing spears

  • Armor and other protective items like shields

  • Many more unique resources to find

  • Panning for random resources in water

Unless I am missing something there is no way to start the game. Possibly a bad mobile port? You get to what appears to be the main launch page and there is no ‘new game’ no ‘start’ button just the image of a planet and the name of the game V1.0. I have submitted the only screenshot. Unless this is fixed I obviously can’t recommend this game.

Protolife

Protolife

As a fan of both strategy games and tower defense, I can safely say that I had fun playing Protolife and would recommend the game to anyone who is a fan of an unorthodox twist to tower defense and, more specifically, turtling or turret-creeping in strategy games.

Note: I have completed the main campaign and have dived a bit into the postgame content. Anything I discover in the New Game+ and/or the Experiments (randomly generated scenarios) will be added at later times.

Gameplay: 8/10

Probably the best way to know if you’ll like Protolife is if you liked Creeper World or Infested Planet… and you don’t mind a control scheme which has no mouse input.

To be clear, there is nothing “wrong” with the control scheme, and I have played it on a keyboard as well as with an Xbox controller, but it’s a uncommon to find a game these days with no mouse input so that seems to be a deal breaker for some people. If you’re using a controller, I strongly recommend the D-pad rather than the joystick, because the game works on a grid and the digital input of the D-pad matches that much better than an analog stick.

FrankenStorm TD: Prologue

FrankenStorm TD: Prologue

A solid tower defense, reminiscent of the Warcraft III tower defenses it was inspired by. Its strength is in its simplicity. A lot of tower defense games try to go wide, giving players many options of towers while restricting their ability to influence placement and mob flow. This game does the opposite by restricting you to one tower type. It lowers your immediate ability to change your damage types/styles, but allows for larges mazes and clever placement.

As you continue playing, you can collect power-ups that will allow you to shape your game-play even more. The towers are all still the same tower, but you can add attack speed, damage, give the ability to stun, or insta-kill low-health enemies, etc. to them. Every power-up comes with a penalty, that makes the strategy involved more complex, modifying all of your enemy’s abilities at the same time as it modifies all your towers.

I have to think the devs like Path of Exile because the way you “gear up” has so much in common. Everything you find has an upside and a downside. There are uniques that are build enabling, but total garbage if you don’t build for them. There is a specific range for the rolls that a unique can get. There is stuff that has great synergy together (For example, if you stack the increased chance that the enemy procs some special ability, then there is no big downside to grabbing more of that. But the downside that you are completely prevented from getting even 2% of something like enemy dodge chance because 2% dodge X 200% increased chance chance equals insta-death. They also both have the concept of “increased” and “more”. (i.e. you can get 5% increased damage or 5 more damage.) They also both have tooltips that show your basic damage oputput without revealing any useful information without you doing math. (i.e the tooltip will show your crit chance and it will show your percentage increase that random events proc. But it will not show your ACTUAL crit chance after it has been modified by your chance chance.)

Dynasty of the Sands

Dynasty of the Sands

Dynasty of the Sands

An Ancient Egyptian City Builder – focusing on Survival, Expansion and Creativity.

From humble beginnings, build a paradise along the banks of the Nile and let your people prosper. To achieve such a feat, a grand city, abundant resources and careful planning will be required.

You start from humble beginnings, a collection of mud and straw huts, from which you will develop a grand city.

Dynasty of the Sands takes place in an open world environment, with seasons, a day/night cycle, weather, wildlife, disease and more. These systems challenge the player as they develop a city to sustain a growing population.

The gods pose an ever present threat, and appeasing them is the only way to avoid their wrath. Building statues, shrines, temples and giving sacrifices are just some of the ways to pacify them.

Constructing your city is a balancing act. The needs of your villagers, the environmental pressures and the gods make this a challenging experience. However perseverance will be rewarded with a golden city of riches.

  • Villagers must be provided with Water Sources, Food, Shelter and Entertainment to ensure they remain happy and healthy.

  • Resources will be required in abundance. Primary resources like Mud and Flax can be grown and extracted. Secondary and Tertiary resources like Mud Brick and Pottery must be crafted within a series of production buildings.

  • Vast amounts of quarried rock are required to construct your Pyramid. Sandstone blocks and limestone casing become a valuable commodity as you expand your monument. Completion of Pyramid levels grants power from the gods, used to unlock technologies and avoid the gods wrath.

  • In-depth environment, day/night cycle, weather, wildlife, disease and many more systems are constantly changing and evolving to create a dynamic and engaging game experience.
