StarFringe: Adversus

StarFringe: Adversus

I have been playing StarFringe: Adversus for a number of days, now, and find it fairly enjoyable even though it has a tendancy to crash at the most inopportune times - such as right after you move to a new sector. I have found that it’s much better to hit the save just before you do something important. While the program DOES have an autosave feature, it’s not adjustable and tends to overwrite earlier autosaves also at the most inopportune times. Better to stay on top of the saves yourself. That said, the game has great promise. It seems to be fairly heavily slanted in the computer players favor, though. The computer player seems to be able to build up it’s forces MUCH faster than the human player, and the computer player is able to take over the map a whole LOT faster than the human player. I realize this game is still, technically, in development but this can be disheartening to some players. Also, I haven’t been able to find where to contact the company directly to present my thoughts on the game. I don’t know if the company is still working on the game or not. I HOPE so, because I’d like to see the game reach it’s full potential.

Abandonware, Unfinished

There is no Campaign (or “Champaign” as it’s still called, which should give an indication of its status), only Quick Battle

Despite the Dev cancelling development since June 2017, the game still lists as Early Access and is still being sold.

Zibbs - Alien Survival

Update:

Good run on the survival spin as an alien. Had fun, yet I dont see myself building another UFO to escape earth. Still, refreshing survival without getting to complicated.

=====================

This little gem sucks you in. I’m having fun with the trial and error of being a little green man on earth.

The help section can be a little overwhelming, but they have links to youtube videos that demonstrates what you’re reading.

Wish it had coop or multiplayer.

Zibbs - Alien Survival is a open world survival game, where you playing as an alien and you have to survive on Earth until you can make an UFO and get off from the planet.

First things first, the graphocs looks okay. For 2020 it’s not really anything special, but works as intended. What I don’t like it, is if you see something in the distance is so blurry in my opinion or you can see it partially. Also the some UI element should get a better artwork (bar at the top left) and the forest should get a better graphics in general, more grass and give it bit more life. Adding more effects for the game would be awesome too!

I was expecting some revival of MOO2.

I started my first game at “Commander level”, expecting to take a quick and severe defeat, but learn enough for an enjoyable second round.

For the first 8 hours, it was fun: build your ships, evolve your captains, oh! there is a tech tree, great! And those aliens, are they friendly or not? Pirates, space travellers, threats, offers.. Excellent!

After 8 hours, I started to realize that:

1/ I did not made any strategic decision, I just clicked randomly on the various “evolution trees”, I did not experience a single defeat.

Black Skylands

Black Skylands

This is a hearty thumbs up from me- it’s a great adventure game, with a story that fits the purpose well. Includes airship combat, which you can think of pirate-navy stuff- replete with upgrades, various ships, etc. Big open world, and everything you go out to do feels like a grand adventure. I think this one is going to be a home-run when it’s fully finished.

Here’s the caveat- it is modestly buggy right now. Not severe, but you’ll probably hit a few snags. Big open world games are like that, and it’s good that they’re taking an EA period, because at the moment, it’s a very, very cool game- with bugs.

The game concept is good and has a lot of potential. I just list down what I don’t like about this game after 2-hour gameplay and hopefully it will be fixed or improved in the future. Maybe what I mentioned below will be unlocked as I proceed the game.

  • The developer said this game is the mixed of stardew valley and bioshock theme. However, I’m into the game for nearly 2 hours but the farming is no where near Stardew Valley. No season, no watering, just simple click for growing and harvesting crop (?). Maybe it will unlock more features as I proceed.

Shop Titans

Shop Titans

I come from a similar game called “Shop Heroes” run by a different developer.

This is a shop simulation game, and if you’re into this genre of games, I found this to be the best option currently in this genre.

Here’s some points I came across while playing the game that made me choose this game and quit Shop Heroes:

F2P vs P2W balance: The game can be played entirely F2P, end game content like the Haunted Castle dungeons can be cleared with heroes equipped with cheap, easily obtainable gear. There’s no strict paywall behind any of the content, and paying real money just makes you get to the end game faster and complete things faster. You also don’t need crazy gear or gold to clear any of the end game content.

As a player who has been playing and paying for over a year since Mar 2020. (F2p first 3 months and a monthly subscriber over 14th months now)

Summary (6/10): The game system itself should be an enjoyable long-term craft-like game. You will need a year to reach high level receipts if you are not a hardcore player. but not suggested to casual f2p players.

Pros :

1. Unique craft game and enjoyable system, easy to start.

2. Build your own Hero team to do quest is fun.

3. Graphic: All 3D and Cute design

Wanted Raccoon

Wanted Raccoon

I really love how fun WANTED RACCOON is & I’ve been really looking forward to playing this awesome game everyday as new content missions are added almost daily. I play a lot of RPG type games & they can quickly get boring with mindless button mashing & uninspired content. That isn’t the case with this game because so far the missions are very interesting to complete & sometimes the things you have to do are really funny. I can easily see myself replaying this game just for the sheer fun it offers plus the animal characters are super cute! The concept of using animals as the main characters is so cool that I wish more games would follow their example. I hope they offer a way to customize your raccoon in the future like maybe different shirts &/or hats & different styles of the backpack would be pretty neat. Another idea would be ways to vary the fur color pattern like maybe different under the eye fur patch shapes or different stripe patterns.

I will say that the game has a fair share of bugs–however, within the hour of the first game-breaking bug being found, the devs rolled out a patch to fix it. So, I’m not horrendously appalled by bugs, because they’re already showing how quickly they will fix them. It’s also very simple and quick to file bugs either on Discord or in-game.

The only other jarring potential is some localization issues to English. Which, I’m sure will be updated in time, as the devs are not English-based from what I can tell on their Discord. With the community as helpful as they seem, I’m sure a lot of the localization will be ironed out over time.

UPDATE 6-8-2020: The game, like most, also has an official Discord community. While the members are generally kind and helpful, the server is overseen by a handful of moderators. These few moderators subjectively decide whether or not you’re a “Good Builder” and rank you up according to their personal opinions. I find this very discouraging, as I’ve noticed certain unfair biases among a few of these moderators. We spend many hours on these creations using our imaginations, only to have a mod invalidate or overlook our entire creation. Whose to say we aren’t all Legendary Builders?

I began my journey with this game back when it first started as a little mobile project. As someone who always plays Minecraft in creative mode, I was immediately interested. It had a fun concept, beautiful visuals, decent interface, and constant updates. I think the updates were the best part early on. There were usually lots of new items making each update feel like an early Christmas. What really impressed me was the care the developers took to read people’s reviews, respond, and actually implement a large portion of the (unsolicited) suggestions. I’ve seen very few developers who care that much about player feedback.

How do you like it, Elon Musk?

How do you like it, Elon Musk?

I see a lot of potential in this game the realistic solar system is very intriguing to me I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this video game and it’s right up there with kerbal space program, but with kerbal space program 2 coming out soon we shall see how this game will be comparable. The only downside I have to this game is the building mechanics really need to be worked on the putting together of parts of your ship it can become very glitchy and quite frustrating. When you do get the ship that you were building to work correctly it’s a phenomenal game I just hope this game doesn’t get abandoned because it has some great potential.

This game is awesome it’s just awesome, I wonder if Elon Musk has licensed the devs to use his name xD

I wouldn’t be surprised if it were so, because Elon Musk is known for being a Billionaire but modest I don’t act like another billionaire who acts like a complete dick and even named his company after his little dick ;-)

At first, I thought it was some cheap Kerbal Space Program rip-off, but no it’s a really great game!

As for me, as for me, I attended an ISTQB course for manual testers, took the ISTQB istqb foundation level exam and I missed a few fucking points to pass, a few goddamn points.

Terraforming Mars

Terraforming Mars

This game had a few bugs to play around but it wasn’t awful. As of the Nov update you can now barely finish a game there are some many new bugs. If you are thinking of purchasing this i would recommend you not. Save your money till its fixed, if it ever is. It is 3 years after the release and still has very poor stability or chance to complete a game without bugs.

Too many bugs. Too many cards that dont work as intended. And too dumb an AI. And the recent patch just broke it. It was bearable before - mainly just an inept AI. But at least it worked. Now it doesnt even do that.

A very unique and atmospheric building game!

The look and feel of the artwork is what sets this game apart. If you were around in the late 80s to early 90s, this will take you back. The screenshots make great backgrounds and screen-savers! Changing the lighting level and color has a dramatic effect on the look of the environment. I would recommend a “Cinematic” mode that removes all text and HUD info from the screen for better screenshots.

It is very early in the development schedule, so there’s not much going on game-wise. There are 10 or so decoration pieces. You can place all the items on the ground level or in the air. So far, there is only one flat panel that you can place, and then place other items on it. More deco will be added.
