Magnat: Beer Maker
Magnat: Beer Maker is a business simulation and management game. Take the challenge, manage your own beer factory(s), manage your warehouses, employees, production lines and transportation of merchandise.
Logistics to manage
To produce, you usually need a production line, resources to refine, storage and transportation. In Magnat: Beer Maker, the goal being to produce beer, you will need to import and store the raw materials, refine, brew in tanks, store the beer, bottle it and finally send it to the client.
Recruit and manage your employees
When you want to develop your business, there is nothing better than hiring employees to help you with your tasks. The employees in your factory can help you with most tasks and it is up to you to tell them what to do, but be sure to monitor them.
A realistic economy
Every action has a cost and it’s up to you to manage your finances well. From recruitment to transportation to taxes, the whole finance system in Magnat: Beer Maker has been designed to be as close to reality as possible.
Customize and upgrade your factory
In order to produce beer you need all kinds of machines. Once you have invested in new machines, you can place them wherever you want in your factory, but be careful not to block the way of your vehicles and employees! It is also possible to upgrade the equipment you have and produce more efficiently. Expanding your factory if you lack space is also a possibility.

One Military Camp
Design and manage a military camp, as well as its essential facilities for the sustainability of life there. Set the layout of buildings where your soldiers will train their physical and tactical abilities. Eating and resting are very important too! So take it all into account to achieve a profitable and efficient academy.
Every recruit is born to serve the country, but only a few are the best for your camp. Following requests from the army, you will have to check the fear in the eyes of your soldiers before choosing them to join the camp.
Each training course will transform regular soldiers into highly specialized ones. Check the attributes of your ensigns and set them in the right path for their born specialty.
Affirmative! Training and maintaining soldiers is expensive, but you can make it a profitable business. Managing as a real tycoon will turn your camp into a money-making machine by completing government missions.
Upgrading buildings will allow you to improve the training of your soldiers. Having many strong soldiers will help you to face all the missions. Enjoy blowing stuff up? Don’t forget to build the Bomb Defusal Training building!
The war is constantly evolving, so stay ahead of the curve. Each mission will require specific soldiers. You’re not thinking of sending your best divers into a land battle, are you?

Annihilate The Spance
Annihilate The Spance is a real-time autonomous army, base builder. Construct your base, and provide your autonomous armada with the means to annihilate the enemy. Through calculated unit compositions, and rapid on-the-fly adjustments to your base.
ATS is set in a far future, with a unique phenomenon unseen in all history. The Spance.
Follow three factions across five campaigns into this glowing, writhing, and dark place.
A nebula ( or as close as we have a name for it ) that has roamed the galaxy, consuming hundreds of solar systems into its depths. It is undeniably rich in resources. Extreme and unexplained pseudo-physical phenomena. And creatures seemingly formed from burning energy.
A linear set of story missions across four interlinked campaigns will take you through the depths of the Spance. Fight with and against each of the major factions in conflict while gaining access to new units and technology. Learn the unique doctrines needed to command the military might of The Kontaalen Armada, the united fleets of The Vaalkorei Coalition mercantile guilds, and the experimental technologies of Emar’s Tychon Division.
Delve ever deeper into the impenetrable abyss of the Spance and unlock its secrets.
Alternatively, jump directly into the fray by versing AI in custom skirmishes and player-created custom levels. You can even create your own for others to play using the level editor.
Begin each mission from your command station and gather resources from the stuff of the rich nebula itself to construct your autonomous base. The interference of the Spance prevents you from directly controlling your units. Each ship is autonomous. Relying on its AI core, moving, targeting, and attacking on its own.
You, Strategist, are left to your base.
Plan your army composition carefully. Calculate build cycles. Make tactical positioning decisions. There is no singular vessel that can take you to victory. This war will not be decided by who holds the bigger stick, but instead who wields the more versatile one.

Per Aspera
It’s rare for a city builder / logistics game to have a good story, but this one sure does. Through monologue and dialogue options we follow the self-discovery and existential ruminations of the player character, an AI tasked with terraforming Mars. The planet visuals are beautiful. It’s incredible to zoom in and look at the contoured terrain and watch it change as it fills in with water and plant life.
Gameplay is less elaborate than most city builders and the logistics are not even close to the level of complexity of something like a Factorio style game. Managing the interconnected temperature and atmospheric composition is interesting. The end result is a casual, relaxing builder with a memorable story.

===SUMMARY===
This is my favorite game of 2021. I like simulation games as a group, and this is a beautiful installment of this growing genera. I love what simulations teach me, being spoon fed facts off a list. I love that (having played Per Aspera) I know the landscape of Mars better. I know some of the names, sure, but grokking the SCALE, the oddness, sparking my curiosity about Noctis Labyrinthus, just from working on the planet is priceless. I became familiar with Mars in a way that Surviving Mars never did (though I played that a lot too).

RECONNECT - The Heart of Darkness
First off, this game is a piece of minimalist art! You really feel that the devs wanted to create something new and truly unique.
..and they succeeded!
Secondly, I really like that this game does not stress me. So, if you are looking for high adrenaline RTS action this game is not for you. It’s for peeps like me that enjoy being taken on a ride and like to sit in their heavily secured base and forget the time while watching dumb AI drones becoming hellishly smart AI drones.
Thirdly, it’s a game for people that like to be challenged! Enjoying this game is easy, winning this game is HARD! XD

Star Sonata 2
I cautiously recommend this game only if you can look past its shortcomings. I have been playing since ~2008 when I was only 12yr old.
The Good:
There is something about this game that can get you addicted like no other. The player base is very close (admittedly also rather small) and everybody knows everyone else and that makes the community very strong. You can create your own team join a team (aka clan, faction, country) and take control of start systems and use the resources within them to build ships, weapons, space stations, and become an industrial powerhouse. But you better be prepared to defend what you own. Much like a country in real life, your team could become a true superpower with all the fame and infamy that comes with it. You can exercise your hard and soft power as you see fit. Politics are very real in this game and I love it. Likewise, if you upset too many players they may declare war against you. Every solar system you own and space station you build is at risk. In a worse case scenario you could lose all of your territory, all of your industry, and be forced to surrender which almost always results in the death of said team. This is something I really like about this game. You have a lot of freedom and the choices you make can make you insanely rich, respected, and powerful. But you could lose it all.

TLDR - A decade+ after the game’s initial launch there is still nothing else quite like Star Sonata on the market today.
The game is heavily influenced by the Star Control series and combines 90’s style arcade action with MMO character development and an almost limitless item progression that rivals many modern MMOs. It has in-depth base building that is basically a whole different game unto itself where you can make money doing colonies, making gear, selling industrial commodities and more. The PvE content is typically fun and offers a variety of solo and group style engagements.. The PvP and team vs team combat probably needs the most improvement but the game doesn’t really revolve around those.

Lairchitect
So close, yet so far. As it is, it should be a free demo game, don’t pay for this, BUT keep an eye out for it, if they can flesh it out better like Pyramida for example, it might be worth getting.
Read some other reviews, and I’ll add my own two cents:
The game isn’t a game, yet, its a broken sandbox of awesome tools.
Some Glaring errors: There is almost nothing you can do with the early game rats, slimes and cherry bombs,
cherry bombs appear to do nothing, except distract the heroes, to maybe give other monsters a little time to get to the fight, except they don’t have a good enough AI to do that.. would have been a perfect ‘alarm’ monster, to trigger the rest to come fight.

I love Sokpop. I want to like this game so much. It has all the right pieces, but they’re not assembled in the right way. With a some adjustments, it can absolutely get there.
First off, please make building tiles an automatic process, not ones that you have your minions do for you (or make it MUCH faster). It bogs down the “design your dungeon” aspect of the game quite a lot. Especially considering you have to put down wood tiles first, before you can put down brick, which prevents it from burning when lava randomly spits up.

BlackChain
Great game. Pathing and controls are super smooth. It is incredible that this is made by a single person. Only in terms of features, you notice that it’s just a single dev. It is only one race and multiplayer is only possible through LAN (virtual LAN for online play) and 2v2 still has some issues with desyncs. But everything that is in the game is unique and high quality. I really enjoy the micro in this game. It has a bit of a modern Starcraft: BroodWar feeling but it is still quite different. With the low price of only 4€, there is no reason not to get this game. The AI is pretty good even without cheating and tries to actively hunt down your workers with air units for example. The dev deserves the support so he is able to create more content for this. (I have received the key from a giveaway which has nothing to do with the dev)

Review by Gaming Masterpieces - The greatest games of all time on Steam.

Real-time strategy, once the second most important genre after FPS games, is dead, isn’t it? While the few releases of recent years were mostly below average, there are some exceptions. This is one.
Great indie real-time stragegy game, heavily inspired by the seminal Starcraft. Build structures, build units, mine ressources and crypto-currency, wipe your enemies off the map. Fully voiced units and 12 campaign missions (all unlocked from the beginning), even a network option. Great little game - what a nice surprise!
