I played many RTS games, and this is another RTS game i recommend. I’ll keep in touch on every update.

The developer did very well on the bug fix and I love when they listen an idea from players.

I’ll be honest and say that I wasn’t sure if I liked it the first few hours but boy did I change my mind. I was expecting to actually have to survive in the shelter I created and see the aftermath of the wasteland left after the world goes to hell and I was puzzled as to why this sort of game play wasn’t added in but it’s still a fantastic base building , survival game and I hope they’ll add DLC in the future, where you’ll actually be able to survive in the bunker or even get to experience what happens after landing the rocket .

Mr. Prepper. A survival base building game that’s not about survival and not about base building but purely story-driven.

TL;DR: If you can get it cheap (10 USD/EUR), give it a shot. But if you want a survival challenge or expect another game like This War Of Mine, STAY AWAY. It has SO much unused potential. It could be so much more.

PROS:

  • Interesting story. Mr. Prepper is not your average guy.

  • The typical “just one more day” game design that sucks you in.

  • 3 (4) NPCs you interact with that are all kinda likable.

The first thing I need to say is READ THE MANUAL! If you’re like me and tend to play a casual game or two to get the hang of things it’s very easy to have no idea what you are doing and lose the game. A quick skiim of the manual will give you an idea of what is what and how the game runs.

I very nearly wrote a bad review after my first game after giving up in just five minutes, I hadn’t read the manual and had no clue what I was doing.

The graphics and sound options on the game are not great, basic graphics and no volume control are something of a turn-off, but you can do what I did and turn off the game’s music and ignore the graphiocs quality.

I got this with stardock legends pack, so it was so cheap. It works on my win 10, and I don’t update it unless it asks me so it works perfectly on win10. First with the cons, the training isn’t working as it shows when you press f2 ( it’s been showed in help, f1) so I played a game at beginner than “difficult in pain”. After few lose I managed to own the world. So there should be some ways to endure the others. Ok you will say me to use cards and lucki but cards require too much resources for a losing company. Maybe I’m telling this because MOBA games and their competitive game strategy is popular now, however, I still think there should be balance. Also I wish to have suggestions to continue after 55% global market sharings. Or there would be other choices such as technology winnig. And pros, if you like this kind of games you will like it. You really need to control market, demand and sellings should be balanced very well, otherwise you lose. I really liked it. I wish ppl upgraded it till now, but this gem also lost itself in the marketing :/

pros

  • love the weather cycle

  • great attention to small details

  • better than average graphics

  • great foundation to build on with improvements

  • bandits/native american interaction is a nice aspect

cons

-terrible economic system at all levels (easy medium hard)

at hard you pretty much can only build one way or you will fail

at medium you can waiver a little but not much

at easy not much different from medium

if you want to build only a logging town and never advance your populations status then you have no worries

Bottom Line Up Front: This game will be amazing when it’s finished.

Pros:

  1. It’s a very cool concept of starting a town in the wild west.

  2. The Devs. have come up with a great backbone for the buildings and resources you will need to be successful.

  3. Replay-ability once complete will be a GINORMOUS 10/10.

  4. It’s not an easy game to master in the beginning. You really need to think a few steps ahead before building anything. This makes it so much more fun when you are successful in your choices.

Robin Hood - Sherwood Builders

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1273100/Builders_of_Greece/

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1442450/Monsters_Domain/

Robin Hood - Sherwood Builders is an action adventure RPG with city-building elements, where we will take the role of a classic hero, who fights against the tyranny and injustice that haunts Sherwood. As Robin, we’ll fight, hunt, craft, steal, and of course - help the local community grow in spite of the Sheriff of Nottingham’s regime – all within an open world environment that can be freely explored.

Robin Hood is a famous hero of medieval English folk tales, believed to have traversed the forests of Sherwood with his companions a long time ago. In the game we’re going to meet those legendary characters as well – such as Lady Marian, Little John, Friar Tuck, Allen a Dale, and Will Scarlet.

The main task is to help a young, growing community of refugees and rebels improve and expand itself. Starting with what could be described as a small forest settlement, with a bit of care, luck and work, it can end up as a town full of people. Recruit local villagers, rebels on the run from the law, and even the citizens and guards of Nottingham themselves.

We will start our adventure with building a forest camp, which we will be able to develop with the arrival of new residents. We will be responsible for choosing the right place in Sherwood Forest to build the village.

Another important part of taking care of the settlement will be to manage the community members’ professions and tasks and training them to become craftsmen, hunters, or guards, and to manage the settlement’s resources, either gathering them yourself or stealing them from convoys and aristocratic estates.

The main goal is to build a community large and meaningful enough to trigger a revolution in the ranks of Nottingham, ending the tyranny once and for all.

Can Robin Hood and his company make it and put an end to injustice? Their fate is up to you!

City Maker

City Maker

I’m finding City Maker extremely addictive. Simplified compared to other city builders I’ve played in that there’s no complex micromanagement. I thought I would miss that, but actually it’s a pleasant change. With building up the city and economy, managing finances and meeting demands, there’s still plenty of strategy/forward planning and challenge to be well entertained.

The puzzle element is refreshingly different as you are limited to 1 of 3 available structures per turn. Initially, there’s just houses and farms and then a gradual unlocking of other structures. There’s quite a variety overall and I’m still discovering new ones! They provide services, have needs and give effects and some come in different shapes, a bit like Tetris. There’s no building rotation, which is good here, as it adds to the challenge of placing the structure you want where you’d like it to go and where it’s needs are covered. Without that cover, you’ll start to get demands with limited time to meet them. It’s game over after 10 failed demands or you’ve overspent.

Real player with 22.5 hrs in game

Challenges too random. There appears to be no way to anticipate city needs. Crisis occur and solutions to problem do not appear in timely fashion, causing frustration. This game is only okay at the lower difficulty levels. Higher levels seem to take away players ability to adapt.

The Meta:

This is a free prologue, as a feature-limited demo of the full game which expands upon the content that was made available in the demo from July. You have absolutely no reason not to try this.

I’ve played rather extensively through the beta testing, and can attest that the devs are incredibly responsive to the player community, both for bug fixing and implementing player-suggested improvements or modifications, and I fully expect that behavior to apply to the full game.

The game includes no microtransactions.

Originally, I thought the prologue would end in 30 days at most, but later I found out that I was still too young and naive. On the first day of the second month, I angrily ate all my food. I have many cans which used all the money I made to buy, and with lots of blueberry milkshakes and carrot soup. It’s ridiculous that I didn’t have diarrhea after eating it all! Ok, I have to quit the game in dismay!

Talk about the advantages and shortcomings of this game. This game is still very creative, painting style is good, it is said that the official version has more content. In terms of content, the game is undoubtedly a success. But the game also has some shortcomings:

The Amazing American Circus

The Amazing American Circus

Target Audience: Those Willing to Take the Lows With The Highs in Card RPGs

Summary:

This is a recommendation in essence, but for a specific subset of people.

I’m going to be straight up from the get go here: The Amazing American Circus is one of those games that I want to love up and down, but ended up being the biggest thorn in my side due to what happened during the review period. To say that I faced some of the worst bugs: specifically saved game bugs, in my review career would have been an understatement: I had 8 separate runs break wildly in that period where I could not continue to make progress. While those bugs seem to be fixed now, I have a form of PTSD at this point. Every time I play, I’m waiting for the game to break again. Hell, even the video I made had a major bug in it. There’s a reason I have around 40+ hours of gameplay without actually beating the game, and to say it hung over the experience would be an understatement to say the least.

This is not a Slay to Spire, this is not a Monster Train. The Amazing American Circus is not a roguelike-roguelite card game, it is more like a card game built around a campaign, with some management sim built around it, in which you need to cover the costs, upgrades etc from the incomes you get during the shows.

If you more curious about the game, and want to check a short, ~20mins long video in which I showing what content you could expect from the game with one circus show (card battle) included, then here is mine:

Real player with 20.3 hrs in game

Most of the negative reviews are from the early access, so I’m not sure how the game used to be before the latest update. I’m enjoying it so much, in fact the game is pretty addicting!

The story based on the history of Vinland (North American lands) when vikings arrived there to explore it. You’ll have your settlement among the native Americans and try to earn their trust as well as friendship and eventually forming an alliance. To achieve that they’ll ask you to do some tasks like upgrading your buildings and workshops, or give them a certain amount of resources. Some of the angry and unfriendly natives will attack you, so you need to improve your village’s fence (Palisade) which I forgot to upgrade at first and focused only on the watch tower - Of course I lost a couple of encounters against the natives because of that and they stole tons of my resources.
