Phos

Phos

You play as a robot colonizer that has been sent out to an alien planet with one goal. Harvest its resources and send them back home. To accomplish this you must build a base on the planet. As your base develops you will be able to build more advanced structures to harvest at an increased scale. And eventually you will be able to accomplish your goal to start sending resources back to your mother planet. But the native inhabitants of the planet won’t sit idly by as you strip their world of its resources.

最后的夜晚 Babel

最后的夜晚 Babel

I would really love to give this game a good review, but I simply can’t. It is broken, unfinished, and not even completely translated into English.

It is a nice, stylish looking tower defense game, but there is much that either is unexplained, doesn’t seem to work, or both.

For example every gun has options beneath it, that might mean damage, range, health, rate of fire and crit chance, but clicking on them doesn’t seem to do anything. All of those are stats given for each gun, but nothing changes when you click them, even after they seem to have leveled up fifty times.

The game has been translated over from Chinese, there are typos in some places (e.g. after base destruction). You can also see direct Mandarin in some text areas e.g a boss has appeared.

I also have a bug where if i zoom out too much the screen starts to shake i believe only on smaller maps. (May be due to ultrawide monitor 3860x1600)

Otherwise, the game is fun! Reminds me of Yorg.IO.

Great price at less than 10AUD, looking forward to updates.

FATAL ERROR - RTS

FATAL ERROR - RTS

We see few rts games being created recently, just new versions of the old ones. Fatal Error came as an excellent surprise for the genre with a unique model and amazing themed. Something I missed was the opposing player’s score to be able to position himself and know what the situation is.

Anyway congratulations on the excellent work!

Real player with 14.9 hrs in game

The game is fun and reminds me of old times rts game, specially the OG C&C game. The game has many levels to play and many units to make after each lv. Its even has the lv where you start without any base but only few defensive n offensive units. The only think thats need improvement i can see is the unit movements. Its a bit sketchy but not that bad.

Nira

Nira

Nira is a pixel based RPG which heavily reminds me of the old Holy Grail on the Atari 800 from back in the 80s.

The price is very generous for the content, hard time, and updates to come.

I purchased this game moment it was released as I could not bare to be without Nira once the beta ended.

I had the opportunity to play this game and help with debugging and suggestions along with many others who helped out as well.

The game is quite simple to learn, and very enjoyable. It’s one of those games you start playing then realize the day flew by.

I’ve been really enjoying playing Nira, so far, I know it’s early days right now but I find the gameplay engaging and the items satisfying to obtain and use.

It’s very easy to get into; the way that the tools progress leads you nicely through the crafting tree, the combat is simple and rewarding (especially once you have gathered enough resources for projectile weapons), and I enjoy the foraging/farming aspect, it’s nice to see crops that you have gathered, or traded for, grow.

I cannot speak to the multiplayer myself, as I have yet to try it, but I enjoy the single player mode immensely.

Science!

This is a game for people who enjoy patiently solving puzzles. Completing all the game objectives is not the end game, it’s where the game starts. Once you know how everything works, you spend time trying to develop genetic recipes for plants, herbivores, and carnivores. You can conduct experiments inside the contained forcefields. You tweak the balance until it stays stable. You observe how random mutations either help or hurt the design.

I spent an entire day developing my “stepping stone” plant recipe. Over the next few hours the plants mutated into taller “fat candles” that were better able to stand up to the stresses of wild fires and getting munched on by herbivores. This weekend I’ve assigned it as a science project for my homeschooled kid. I haven’t figured out how to get the herbivores and carnivores into a stable balance yet. I have lots of experiements left to run!

this game is interesting enough in its mechanics, to me, to give it a thumbs up, although seeing the general opinion and commentary on this game i see there are just as many reasons to give it a thumbs down, a neutral vote would be amazing here.

all in all this is a fairly simple looking game, but not very optimized for what it needs to do, especially when populations start going into the thousands the game grinds down to a snailspace or worse, this is because of the many calculations going on while the game is not multithreaded, leaving it incapable of processing its own data at a fast enough rate, besides that, and if you keep populations low enough (amount depends on your pc’s cpu power) you will have a fun time for a while.

Crypto: Against All Odds - Tower Defense

Crypto: Against All Odds - Tower Defense

Those who are familiar with the plants versus zombies series will be right at home when playing this game, Crypto manages to capture a frantic, fast paced tower defense that’s even a bit educational. Fingers crossed for any potential dlc or content updates in the future.

Fun little tower defense game. Does a few things new, does a lot of things well, and scratches the tower defense itch nicely. Story bangs on incomprehensibly but, honestly, you can skip the story and miss nothing. There’s one or two other minor quibbles but, really, for the price you’re getting fantastic value. If you like tower defense games this is a solid entry.

Grand Casino Tycoon

Grand Casino Tycoon

My intension to get the game was to try a new management simulation game and the idea of planning/constructing a casino with all the entertaining requirements for the guests was the selling point for me. My first interactions with the game weren´t as good as I hoped, because I had some issues starting it on my end and it took me some time to get used to the user interface. After those initials obstacles I was surprised by the gameplay, and it made a lot of fun to build the casino and keep all the guests happy. As the game progresses it gets way harder and with more guest types it also becomes a challenge to keep most of them entertained.

What bothers me the most about this game is if you take your time to get it right. You will never be able to accomplish your goals. You will always be in debt. There are also items that do not seem to attract any players. You lose money, because the object in question is useless, but you absolutely need it to advance in your goals. I believe this game has potential, but it doesn’t feel complete.

Custom Machinery

Custom Machinery

I like building games a lot so I wanted to have a go at this;

Pros:

  • At first it seemed like you can’t really do anything but as you try stuff and learn how it works, you can build cool things

  • Most blocks have 3 sizes

  • Saving/copying your builds can be done quickly

  • Not expensive

  • Nice graphics

Cons:

  • Hard to learn (I recommend you to watch tutorial videos. Link to tutorials )

  • New players may not find the controls easily (They can be found by pressing F1)

Real player with 3.5 hrs in game

No way to flip over if you get stuck.

No on-screen controls. F1 shows a transparent list of keys to remember. You are instructed to go to the YouTube channel for tutorials rather than having them in the game. If the developer simply put keys on-screen, it would be much easier to get into.

4 small wheels will provide an excessive amount of thrust by default, and do not require any sort of engine, or even hinges to rotate. There also aren’t any arrows telling you which way they spin or turn.

The only issue with balancing I had was trying to assemble a vehicle without it falling over. The ‘magnetic clamp’ or whatever, wasn’t.
