RAILROADS Online!

RAILROADS Online!

Even in it’s Early access state RO has a lot of potential The Locomotives are very well detailed and are pretty fun to operate. The same goes for the rolling stock as there is a lot of little details most developers tend to overlook. Then there is the map itself. Even though it uses the basic textures from Unreal 4 the landscape still looks amazing at times. However it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Track laying can be a pain in the ass and the terrain and bridge tools are a bit clunky. The Link & Pin couplers have a tendency to break randomly when loading a saved game while other times they have a tendency to launch into space. And while the game is meant to be played ONLINE with Friends don’t expect them to stay on very long if you have a slow internet connection as it is a Peer to Peer Hosting system that RO runs off of. However this also means that you can in a sense play this as an offline Sandbox Game since when you Host a Server you only need to be online to launch the server itself. Once the Server is running you can play the game offline and not worry about getting dropped randomly. Naturally however I give these issues a pass since the game is still in Early Access and as such is bound to have some issues. The game itself is still very fun and like I said before has a lot of potential. Of coruse it’s not for everyone, but if you are interested in Turn of Century American Narrow Gauge Railroading, t’s woth checking out.

After 81 hrs of play time, I must say AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! Yes it’s got bugs. Did you report them so they can get fixed? No? then STFU! I have 1 to 3 others working in this game for me. (Yes they work for me. I get more money and XP faster so we can all have good engines) Always have others join your company, always make a password so a**holes don’t join your world and destroy all your hard work. Yes ghost links and tree regrowth is a small problem sometimes. Hey, it’s still under construction, just like your RR! Got a good idea? Go to the Dev’s Discord and tell him. Is it fun? Very much so. does it have bugs? Yeah but so does CyberPunk 2077 and it’s a finished game. Should you buy it? IDK, I did, it’s up to you how to spend your money. I give it a two thumbs up. But hey what do I know. Will you enjoy playing it? Did you like playing with trains when you were a kid? I still like playing with trains, That’s why I work at a railroad museum. If you to like playing with trains, then by all means get this game.

I absolutely love racing games. It’s not reflected on my Steam profile very well, but the racing genre is easily one of my favourites, and has been since I was very young. I experienced countless different titles on the Xbox and PS2 when I was still primarily a console gamer. From bigger names like Need for Speed and Gran Turismo, to plenty of other lesser known titles like Crash ‘n’ Burn, L.A. Rush, Midtown Madness 3 and so many more, I spent countless hours messing around in those early open worlds and improving my lap times. Most Wanted 2005 is easily my favourite racing title, with a great map and sense of progression, intense and rewarding cop chases, and an all-time great soundtrack; I didn’t think anything could ever top it…until I played Forza Horizon 4.

Bus Simulator 16

Bus Simulator 16

UPDATED (ALMOST 1year after release update)

Sadly, not much changed in a year. Optimization is still requested by many which implies they havent dealt seriously with the problem. Only 2 DLC have been released and I see them as pure money grabber. They are not offering anything new than buses but those buses look exactly the same as the ones already ingame. The only difference is that they are branded MAN or Mercedes-Benz which (due to having to pay the right to the brands) are ridiculously expensive for the amount of content (and the usefulness of the said content has still to be proven).

I seriously can not understand where the hate this game is getting comes from. It does exactly what it says on the “box”, and does it very well. While not a perfect game by any means, this is a great effort from a smaller company, that fills a niche I’ve personally desired for over 10 years.

When I was a young lass, back in my high school days, I used to take the public bus to commute to school and back, and also to travel from place to place on my weekends. I spent hundreds of IRL hours on various models of IRL busses, and I always wanted to try driving one. This game finally allowed me to live my fantasy. I honestly never thought a company would ever bother to make a bus driving game, but Bus Simulator 16 actually goes above and beyond that, and includes management and a bit of strategy as well.

Race for Tuning

Race for Tuning

The game is very good, has a lot of potential and very good physics.

It is difficult to get money at the beginning but then the difficulty curve is balanced.

I have some suggestions on how to improve the game.

  • Add new cars, dodge charger, nissan 350z, mazda rx, camaro, mustang, mitsubishi lancer, chevelle, etc.

  • Add new types of cars, sportscar: porsche, ferrari, bugatti, lamborgini, pagani and f1 would greatly improve the game

  • Personalization of vinyls for the car, with designs and infinite combinations like in need for speed underground 2, it would give better personalization

Real player with 60.4 hrs in game

Positives

  • nice physics, you can drift without needing to have to enter special race or have special car. If you learn it well enough you can drift thru a normal race :D its not like in other arcade games where its not possible to do tricks just because the name of the race doesnt have “drift” in its name.

  • can run on a very weak computer if you turn down all the settings, although I wouldnt call it optimized once you turn everything up, you need high end graphics card for a simple effect that doesnt even look any better than the minimal. Its just a slider to murder your graphics card without getting any improvement.

Project CARS - Pagani Edition

Project CARS - Pagani Edition

On keyboard :

EDIT 2: {

On hard difficulty without any assistance + full damage + Pagani Zonda Revolucion the handling is like hell. You’ll spin more than a dog chasing it’s own tail lol.

}

EDIT: {

After playing it a bit more I decided to buy the full game (when it will be on sale ofc). It’s very challenging on medium diff. (haven’t tried hard difficulty yet)

The secret to make the game playable is to lower steering, breaking and throttle sensitivities(Controls - Configuration) to 24-27 depends on you. The Nurburgring feels great now.

Real player with 3.4 hrs in game

Very fun game, definitely give it a try if you have the time and own a racing wheel.

I played this with a Logitech G27.

At the beginning the game lets you select a difficulty preset. If you’re like me and usually play arcade racing games (such as Need for Speed), I’d recommend starting on the novice difficulty. I found it to be quite challenging, even with some of the driving aids. Spinning out can happen if you’re not careful with the throttle, especially coming out of a turn while in lower gears.

To begin my review, I would like to give you some statistics.

It’s one of the few free games on the Steam Playground and thing is, as it should be, the basis of the game is multiplayer, and as is customary in almost all free games - the presence of donation. Because of this, many players immediately quit the game, seeing that many things are available only for ‘real’ currency, even without having experienced the game, as can be seen from the statistics on Steam achievements.

Real player with 952.1 hrs in game

As with all games, this has some major pros and cons, and I will list them as such and then do a small review,

PROS:

(1) Free to play, and I have seen no reason to spend money (so far) except to get stuff faster.

(2) Partial contorller support. Controllers only work in-game, not the menus, and you get to bind it how you see fit.

(3) Decent graphics. Some glitchy parts, but overall pretty nice.

(4) Voice chat. Though I haven’t found anyone that actually uses it, it’s nice to have built in.

CONS:

RaceRoom Racing Experience

RaceRoom Racing Experience

Many people look at this game and are put off by the cost. You can buy Vrp (Virtual Race Points) at a competitive price to purchase the Premium Pack. This is all the current content, so I do not think that is much more expensive than some other titles. Compare this to certain Racing Sims or even Flight Sims and it makes Raceroom look like a bargain!!

They even give you the option to test drive a car before buying it. Can’t be fairer than that.

Check out YouTube’s SimRacing604 as he did a video on the Vrp purchasing.

Real player with 408.8 hrs in game

Bottom line? Good racing game/sim with plenty of potential.

The constant micro-transactions start to get annoying. Even with sales on content packs and moderate discounts for purchasing vRP (virtual money) to buy content, the game ends up costing you quite a bit more than what you get at the stage of development it is in. People can deny or challenge all they want but this thing has been in a perpetual state of Beta for 4 years. It’s actually unfortunate Steam ‘GreenLights’ products in this state. They really should be ‘buyer beware’.

  1. Lately I’ve been really keen on games that let you customize and open - world decisions. Games that you aren’t restricted to a set path. I bought FS17 on a whim when it was on sale and fell in love with it - to my own surprise.

  2. I’ve always been a community organizer and so knew that this game is far better when played with other people. Sure I’m a nerd because I game so much, and play D&D, but it blew me away how much I enjoyed FS17. Not something I ever thought I’d like. I think what pulled me in is the fact that it isn’t scripted. There is no “What should i do next” hand holding. It’s an open-ended relaxing game where you get to drive big awesome machines. At my prime I was spending every evening playing FS17 when running the server for several hours. When the server was very popular I would easily spend 3-4 hours a night playing. Much longer on the weekends.

Real player with 1762.3 hrs in game

Not even sure where to start man. I got this game because I’m a sim player and the graphics looked nice, and it was on sale. I’m in LA, so the last thing going on around me is farming, unless you’re farming weed. This game, and it’s modders, BLEW MY MIND.

You do the first two tutorials to get the gist of the controls and the basics of farming. And it’s the basics, I’m 140+ hours in and all I’ve done is work the fields on the first map. No animals, I cut down a half dozen trees by chainsaw around my silos that were pissing me off because I kept ramming them, no chaff, hay, manure, blah blah blah, just joyously working the fields, learning where everything is, and buying shit (the lower three fields and better equipment so far). To say this game is addicting, even to a city dude with zero ties or previous interest in farming, is a gross understatement. Just playing the basics, you realize the layers of this game just go on and on, and how each crop (and animals when you get them) interweaves with different functions of your farm, and each other, is one of the coolest applications of resource management I’ve seen, and I’ve got probably 50 RM games.
