F1 2018
F1 2018 a sim-racers game or marketing hype?
So F1 2018 has been one of the bigger racing titles to come out this year, Codemasters have promised a lot from the simulation side of the game. In this review I will give my opinions on the game as of now, comparing it to the previous f1 titles and if this is starting to be a real sim-racers title or if it is just marketing hype.
What’s new and what’s good?
F1 2018 is the latest edition of the F1 series, Codemasters have promised a lot and I think they really stuck to their word, that being said I think the game has taken some huge steps forward. The drivers models has improved a lot in comparison to F1 2017 which I thought was lacking, on the contrary this is a pretty serious game. With Codemasters new tire ans suspension models the way the cars perform and handle has improve significantly over last years game. The force-feedback feels much more real, I can really feel the cerbs and changes in road texture when driving in the rain. I do not think F1 2018 can be compared to Assetto Corsa, rFactor 2 or any sim which main priority isn’t going to replicate a formula 1 car, they just handle way different, these are high downforce cars, they can’t be categorized in the same box as 1992 DTM cars, it’s not fair to do that. In comparison to last game you really get a sence of the tires moving across the tarmac, this is a big step in the right direction. Optimisation has also been improved which already was pretty good in the previous title, this is even better for the ones with older rigs. To me this is the first F1 title ever that makes me feel like I have been seated in a formula 1 racecar, rather then just being superficially placed there.

EDIT
a few patches have been released since the writing of my review, with that being said i stand by what i said in the review below, with every “fix” they bring they break 3-4 other things and sometimes the fix doesn’t even fix. its a shambloic, wasted, lackluster, half assed, lazy attempt by codemasters to try and rectify mistakes made in delopment and all they do with every patch is make things worse, please just stop codemasters, you’re not helping anyone and truth be told you haven’t helped anyone with anything in this franchise for a number of years now. below is a video of how much the “fix for multiplayer” fixes it…

A lot of people say: “The FIRST NFS Most Wanted was better” or that this is simply not a good game.
However, i strongly disagree (and i think many negative reviews on this game are much too critical), i first played this game on the PS3 in 2013 and i played it so much for the next few years. Then a long time later i see it is on sale on the steam store and i decide to re-buy it. It did not disappoint, it was just as good as i remembered it. For a game made in 2012, it’s great and it’s graphics are still good by today’s standards.

Musclecar Online
This game takes me back to Indy 500 for the Atari 2600. It was so simple, yet whenever there’s competition, there’s interest. The trick is to run the race as efficiently as you can. It requires some experience, some experimentation, and some mental toughness to do it well.
I haven’t played this long, but I love that I can spend 10-15 minutes on this when I’m bored. Depending on how tough the competition is, I might spend more, or less. It’s perfect for people who don’t have a lot of time throughout the day to play a game.

Fun keyboard racer
Lots of car variations and unlimited player made tracks.
You start out with a bit of coin and two cars. You can use your coins to purchase other cars and/or variations of each one. There are also several tire choices for the variable track conditions to spend your coin on.
You earn more coins buy simpy turning laps, but you earn more when setting fast laps. So if you are within a certain percentage of the top time for the day, you are rewarded with coin. This is all sorted and tracked via the easy to use, in-game leader board. That said, earning coin is a bit of a grind at the beginning…not overbearing, but it pays to make smart purchases…you don’t want to be short on cash when in need of some rain tires. :)

This was my childhood game! I don’t play this game for more than 8 years. Still, i remember when it was completely free to play, i remember the fun i had with this game. I started to be extremely good at some point and my best friend, because of that, bought me TrackMania United as a gift. At the time, the game was selling for 40€ and we had just started our work/professional life. He bought me the game with one of his first salaries. It was everything to me. I managed to make alot of friends, find an amazing team and beat a quite amount of world records. I guess i will never feel what i felt with this game, ever again. I don’t know what’s the current state of the game but i guess that it didn’t change that much. If you’re reading this, download the game and have some fun bro!

WRC 10 FIA World Rally Championship
My rating: 79 / 100.
(+) All season 2021 crews, rallies + bonus / history cars;
(+) Once more game has the greatest stages in all-time history;
(+) An extensive WRC carrier mode (improved a little since WRC9);
(+) New multiple modes to play (single & multiplayer);
(–) Driving model is somehow improved, but cars feel too light;
(–) Graphics haven’t been too much upgraded, poor lightning;
(–) Car crashing isn’t very realistic, like empty boxes.

FFB - Dramatically poor
-
Physics perhaps better than previous versions of the WRC
-
Sound - engine sound is not good
-
Graphics - if there were no moving trees in the wind, it might even be good

WRC 9 FIA World Rally Championship
In some feat of preposterous litigious contractual obligation with Epic, WRC10 has shown up on Steam before WRC9. So at the time of writing this, this game has already been superseded. But let’s take a closer look anyways because I come to this series — largely — for the career mode.
Career
Career mode is by far the most interesting aspect of WRC. You’ll do manufacturer/sponsor tryouts, hire and manage crew fatigue/morale by performing well and adding rest days into the calendar. Perform training, earn money to pay for repairs in-between events. You actually perform this by responding to an email after the event is over. You’re able to hire PR agents so that better potential crew members start applying as you gain reputation. Other features beyond the obvious mechanics like engineers to improve repairs allow you to hire meteorologists for a more accurate forecast to help decide what type of tires you should use for an upcoming set of events.

As seen by a casual gamer with a life long passion for rally and racing games that enjoys playing on keyboard and external camera view.
WRC 9 brings everything we liked about WRC 8, with upgraded content, fixes, better graphics, and a disappointingly late release on Steam
Strong :
✔ It’s been a while that WRC has been recycling things. Menus, team building mechanisms, skill points, cars and more. For some reason I did not feel bad about it. Maybe because I think that these things are well designed and they just work. So what’s the strength of that? Well lots and lots of bug fixes. They basically preferred to take what already works pretty well, and tried to deliver a cleaner, efficient, better performant version of it.

Diesel Guns
(VERY LONG EARLY ACCESS POST)
Nowadays is really hard to find some good drive combat videogame, and while Diesel Guns is still in developement, it is still promising and has a good foundation.
Sayd this, maybe is because of it’s Early Access nature but there are things that definitely need improvement in order to make it a good game that can bring back the Drive Combat genre.
First off, let me list what’s good about it so far:
- Good weapons variety. I especially like that you can choose which weapons to equip for each kind, and apparently it seems there will be more in the future.

If you’re a fan of games like Hardware: Rivals and Vigilante 8, you’ll love this game. the balance of weapons seems just about perfect, and so does the gameplay. Everything just works great. The speed and pacing is perfect. You’re never struggling to try to make a certain mechanic like, ramming or ground pounding work right, it’s not TOO easy either, but it just feels… GOOD when you use it. as of right now, the game is severly lacking in overall content due to it being an early access alpha title, but what’s there will make the gameplay feel near complete when you’re in a deathmatch and blowing up enemies! But for $5, it’s absolutely worth the current state that it’s in.

Vertical Strike Endless Challenge
TLDR: Worth a couple bucks to fly around and shoot guns and missiles. Not very realistic, limited content.
This is a fun arcade-type flight sim game. Emphasis on arcade- there’s a lot of clunkiness and issues and overall doesn’t feel as realistic as say the old HAWX or Ace Combat games were (Even though those weren’t as realistic as REAL flight sim games). If you’ve never played a flight sim game before, this may be a good first choice since the controls are very simple and easy to use.
It’s fun to just boot up the game and roll out raining hell on planes or ships; it’s quick to get into the action and they don’t lug you down with so much customization that it becomes burdensome.

My controller scheme is so messed up its not even funny, and coming from a casual Battlefield background makes this a lot more challenging since the only experience I have with flying aircraft “realistically” was in ArmA2/3, but that was done with KB/M which gave me a lot more options for control customization and whatnot, whereas in BF4 where I played on a PS3 using a controller, everything was incredibly casual, and even then I haven’t played BF4 IN AGES, NOR AM I GOOD IN AIRCRAFT TO BEGIN WITH.

Lawnmower Game: Racing
A good indie race, it helps to relax in the evening with a cup of tea, and without straining to go through the levels, I liked the driving mechanics, the levels that are now, lvl-design, as well as the atmosphere of the game, visually I really liked the game, in the graphic plan there is room for improvement, as a singleplayer game, it turned out very well, although there is a lack of drive in it, as well as a small number of game mechanics and a variety of movement, physics is far from the best feature in the game, but it is unlikely that it can cause any inconvenience, I really look forward to the development of a multiplayer component from this game, as well as the possibility of co-op passing so that you can compete with friends, thanks for the opportunities provided in the game, I really look forward to updates in the near future.

Incredible! Truly a game to remember! I’ve already 100% it on stream and I still can’t stop playing it! Beware, when you start playing, you will start to have thoughts of becoming a lawnmower. You will begin to inhale oil as a lawnmower does and you will try your best to convince your friends to become lawnmowers as well in order to race with them. You will also spend your money on pure gold to create gold barrels so you can collect them for achievements. Pure agony.
