Battle Riders
German poet Hanns Johst once said: “When I hear the word culture, I reach for my gun”. That’s exactly how I feel when I see that UNITY engine startup picture. The one that offers you to choose resolution and picture quality. I see it – I’m starting to expect the worst. Surprisingly, this time it isn’t the worst. Not even close. Even though this game was made by a single guy – Valentin Ciampuru, with soundtrack by Kevin MacLeod, it turned out to be a very solid product. I mean, come on. We’ve all seen a lot of cheap indie racing games on UNITY. Most of those are complete crap, very close to scam. You buy those – you feel robbed. But this game? It’s a real deal.

What is Battle Riders
Battle Riders is a re-mastered version of the Battle Riders mobile game and is a car racing game developed and published by indie developer ‘OneManTeam’. Who and what ‘OneManTeam’ is, I couldn’t tell you, but if I were to channel my inner Sherlock Holmes I would guess ‘OneManTeam’ is a single person.
Battle Riders features seven race modes, seven different cars with multiple upgrades, five different guns in three tiers each, and six unique tracks all of which also has a reverse version. Currently there is no multiplayer mode in any form, so all races are you against zero to seven AI drivers. If this game was indeed developed and published by a single person, I must say I am very impressed with the product being delivered.

Interesting combination of racing (you have to reach the end of the level before time runs out) and shoot ‘em up, although neither part is really prominent. You will rarely lose a level because of a timer if you just don’t stop moving forward, and the fighting part of the game only becomes interesting on bosses (which are quite different from the main game and could be really challenging sometimes).
Could be fun for speedrunning, most of the time I’ve played it I was trying to optimize my time on certain levels that I liked the most. But don’t think about it as a racing simulator. When you try to go fast your car feels more like a rocket ship, so maybe this game will fit wonky physics simulator lovers more than racing lovers.

Review of Alpha.
Been on my wishlist ever since I saw it, since it did look a lot like gta2, which was my prime streaming game for a long time, so gave it a shot as soon as I could (didnt play demo though).
Will start with positives:
-
Really does feel inspired by old gta’s a lot: radio (humor and songs), gang-respect system, tank-controls in car, saves at home, burping, gouranga and other small things - pretty cool!
-
Upgrade system which carries itself into re-playthroughs
-
Multiple endings, non-linearity in area progression

Update: There was a large patch on September 30th, Quality of Life update that should have fixed most of the serious technical issues. I haven’t replayed the game yet.
The game punked me immediately upon starting it by skyrocketing my fps to 482 in the main menu, effectively stun locking my GPU at 100% and 75°C in seconds. And my PC isn’t exactly a potato that needs frying, running an RTX2070, i7-7700K and 32GB of RAM, with an SSD to boot. Without capping the fps, it climbs to about 90 in-game on High settings, making the game stuttery and giving me a hot GPU turbine background noise. After capping the fps to 60 in the Nvidia panel, the game behaves like it should, mostly. There’s still some stuttering and weird lagging, but it becomes playable, for a bit at least. Unless you need to reduce your post-processing to medium, which completely changes the in-game lighting making everything pitch black. Checking the Known Issues topic in the discussions unveils more than a few bugs and glitches, from the mentioned post-processing problem to declining performance and heavily sparkling textures. I’ve had one complete freeze, where even alt+F4 wasn’t reacting and declining performance kept calling me to have a beer with her.

GRIP: Combat Racing
Let’s get one thing out of the way first: Are you a Rollcage fan? Are you a fan of any kind of futuristic racer, or even just the idea of super fast wheeled tanks flinging explosives at each other? I am. After dumping some 25 hours into playing this over some months, I feel qualified to tell you if this game’s worth your time, and what other reviewers are saying. Let’s break it down, with how well this handles each aspect of what makes a classic in the genre.
1. CONTROLS.
Earlier reviews can be disregarded as the physics have been revamped and improved tremendously. So have the tracks. Your vehicle is responsive to your input, whether keyboard of gamepad. However, it is not a clone of Rollcage, it’s its own thing; these very much handle like heavyweights. Cars naturally curve into a subtle powerslide over time: the trick is to tap, not hold, your handbrake button to help tighten your arc around a given corner smoothly. There is a lot to learn here regarding terrain and track routes.

Grip is a spiritual successor to Rollcage, a combat racer featuring horizontally symmetrical cars that can keep going even after being flipped over. Despite being a fan of Extreme-G and not hearing about Rollcage until I discovered Grip, this game seemed like the current-gen fix of futuristic high-speed combat racing action I was craving. My initial impressions were mixed, but I developed a feel for the game after some practice. I followed the game’s development since its release on Steam, and I clocked in 200+ hours of play time. I finally think I’m ready to give people my take on the game.

Zombie Derby: Pixel Survival
I’t a well made game, but is to much mobile like for a pc, the most anoying is the inconsistent regeneration mechanic that usually makes the player wait for up a a hour before next try ( for 5 minutes of game play) making me frustrated.
– Real player with 19.4 hrs in game
By far the grindiest of the three Zombie Derby games. I thought #2 was bad for this but Pixel Survival is a whole new level! More levels and more vehicles would’ve been welcome rather than SSDD and a graphics spruce-up.
Play the first one and forget this and the second game, it’s more of the same but feels like a massive waste of time because you’re not unlocking anything worthwhile or different.

Barely Racing
Barely Racing is a fast-paced combat racing game where you can buy and upgrade your car and play through the campaign. Drive multiple cars on multiple tracks. Play offline with your friends in good old hot seat fun.
.
Several multiplayer modes are available
-
Race - Typical racing with weapons.
-
Mine Tag - A good old tag game, but more dangerous. One player carries the mine which has a timer. Once timer runs out, mine explodes. Touching other player will transfer the mine. Then it’s time to run
-
Flag chase - The flag is in the middle of a map, whoever takes it will have their points increased as long as flag is being carried. But watch out, as soon as someone touches you, the flag will be transferred to the player that touched you.
-
Deathmatch - Pure carnage. Use your weapons to destroy as many opponents as possible. Once destroyed, the car will respawn for another round.
-
Football - Good old football game with cars. 2v2 isometric football

Motor Assailant: Prologue
The game looks great, but the timer is a bit too tight, and the first boss is way too hard. Loved the intro movies!

OverShoot Battle Race
As a big fan of the original RRR I had to try this one out, and I have to say, it won’t let you down.
Overall the game is very well produced and for an early access game, I could only find very few minor issues that won’t reduce how much fun you will have.
The soundtrack is really good and the visuals are absolutely stunning, merging this kind of low poly style with flashy colors and visual effects definitely worked very well.
I only played alone but I assume it will be a blast playing online with my friends.

Amazing casual game. Looking at the screenshots one cant imagine how difficult it’s to steer the cars while avoiding get shot. Really addicting. Couldn’t find any bugs, showing how it’s very well done for an “early access”. I believe that is gonna be a great hit.

SHIPS AT WAR
I see great potential in this game, the development is very active and content and bug-fixes are added frequently.
I love the building system, you can build whatever ship you like, from small torpedo boats to battleships or even fictional monstrosities from your own imagination.
