American Truck Simulator

American Truck Simulator

American Truck Simulator is another production from the great SCS Software studio. Considering how they care for their players in Euro Truck Simulator 2, it couldn’t be otherwise! The creators once again prove that the games they create are complete products and the support does not end when the game / add-on is paid for, but all the time! Soon there should be an update of the state of California, the original state that appeared with the game’s premiere over 5 years ago and is still being improved and adapted to current standards both visually and technically.

American Truck Simulator (ATS) is the new title of the simulation created by SCS Software, which makes us live an adventure with our truck all around breath-taking landscapes and well-known places in USA. While you are travelling you will see the most famous architecture, for example The Golden Gate in San Francisco or the famous casino or hotel in Las Vegas. ATS is expanding more and more and this shows how SCS Software cares about making its product dynamic. We will play the part of a truck driver and we will travel on roads and highways with different sceneries in the background, such as desert, little populated areas or very busy metropolis. The unpublished system of event available for everybody and everywhere, thanks to the various upgrade, makes our adventure more interesting. It randomly creates accidents, parked cars and construction by the roadside or in the highway, reducing available lanes and blocking in cars, including out truck. Be careful when you are travelling because the police are always around the corner! Moreover, the fine collection system has become stricter than it was in the past, both because of the increase of the amount of money you have to pay if you exceed speed limitations, if you go right through red lights or if you cause accidents, and above all because patrol cars, which could normally drive through traffic or be hidden behind buildings or billboards, can give you a ticket at any stage; this makes the player pay attention to speed limitations, which vary according to each state. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8QocRQKJMk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NfkIrItLtI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCJkbGj7des ATS natively supports mods and communities, considering that the game engine is the same as Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS 2) and this has made many changes be able to replace the lack of official trucks and has made the game more realistic and longer-living. In ATS you will also find a managerial section in which you can purchase your truck (getting into debts with a bank, if it is necessary), customizing it according to your tastes and you can also choose among a list of several interesting jobs dedicated to those who have decided to freelance. You can also hire drivers, purchase other trucks and create a big machine which can make you earn a lot of money. At this stage you could also purchase warehouses and expand your business in other cities. Moreover, your driver can increase his level and get experience scores which you could use in different sectors, such as fragile or luxury goods, trafficking length, special transports (e.g. explosive) and rush deliveries. This happens above all when you meet longer trailers than they were before, so that also a veteran of this saga needs some time to get used to the driving of these new means and to park them. Actually, it is possible to choose the difficulty of this latter: normal or expert. In the normal version the maneuvers which are necessary are on the same level of ETS 2, in the expert version it becomes more and more difficult because you are required to park your trailer in little areas and overcome obstacles. ATS is a title in which developers have focused more on quality than on quantity of contents. For those who have experienced ETS 2 this could be a negative point, however the realism takes advantage of it and shows places and situations which are always different. I suggest that both those who experienced its predecessor and those who are neophytes buy this game. I highly recommend this game! Neat little game to waste some time, I enjoyed causing some mayhem and trying to survive until the goal (it’s not always that easy). Far from perfect but enjoyable for sure for an indie title. Good job!

The Legend of Bear-Truck Trucker

I spent the weekend absolutely obsessed with this game. A very simple premise, and incredibly charming in its own quiet way. There’s some real min-maxing depth available here, and lots of laughs (with the occasional heartbreak) in the physics. Highly recommended for those stretches of time where no other games seem to stick and you just don’t know what to play. You want to play this :)

The Crew™

The Crew™

I love racing games. It’s been so long since I’ve been excited for an open-world racing gaming like this one. One that specifically caters to an aspect often discarded and ignored which is the love of free-drive and exploration. The Crew has its focus there as well as on racing. I was so looking forward to driving around different corners of the states, meeting other players, driving around with my friends and discovering new areas or car brands and acquiring crazy modifications along the way. It has many similarities with other common games such as Test Drive Unlimited 1 mixed with Burnout Paradise for speed, exploration and challenges.

The game is quite fun, and I have spent many hours in it, and will probably spend more too. However… there are some pretty big caveats to this. The price for one; I have the Australia tax, and the base game costs $75USD, not including the exchange rate and everything. Then there is the DLC - each one is a pack of 4 extra cars, hardly worth the price considering they don’t really offer too much more. And then there are the Mi-crew-transactions. Seriously? Extra in-game micro transactions on an already pretty pricey Triple A release? There are two different forms of currency in-game, one which is solely earnt through missions, skills, and stunts. And then there are CREW CREDITS. You are given 100,000 reasonably early on in the game, but that’s not enough for anything good. And so… you are invited to use real life money to purchase these in order to quickly obtain cars or specs that you would otherwise spend countless hours grinding for. The grind for this game is pretty ridiculous - not only do you have to grind for in-game cash (unless you pay real money) for the cars, but then, upgrade those cars, you must complete skill challenges to acquire parts to improve your car… for each individual car. The best parts are also RNG based, so you could easily spend hours farming the same challenge to try and get that specific part you wanted.

Roadside Assistance Simulator

Roadside Assistance Simulator

Not every hero wears a cape and a tight-fitting outfit. Some only need a tow truck, a set of specialised tools and, above all, their experience and competences, which enable them to get out of any – even the most difficult – roadside predicament.

Roadside Assistance Simulator is a gate leading to a reality filled with road offenders, scatter-brained drivers who glance at the fuel gauge only after their car sputters and dies, motorists always surprised by the arrival of winter, as well as other unlucky traffic participants waiting for your help.

You will take on a whole range of tasks – from recharging dead car batteries, through extinguishing burning engines, to towing vehicles. The city is full of cars that break down, get involved in collisions or suffer because their drivers are having a bad day.

Help your customers get out of trouble. Earn money to take your business to the highest level. Upgrade your repair shop and get better-paid jobs.

The developers of Roadside Assistance Simulator invite you to a diverse, believable world, with realistically reproduced vehicle models. You will get a chance to drive both through the crowded streets of the city centre and the outskirts, which you will also find quite busy. Hit the road to gain respect and the reputation of the best road assistance specialist in the area. Do not let the competition surpass you, as it doesn’t sleep and won’t go down without a fight.

Diverse quests, dynamic gameplay, eye-catching visuals, satisfying milestones – thanks to these and many other elements, Roadside Assistance Simulator will bring you tens of hours of engaging entertainment. Step on the gas and hit the road to help the drivers in need!

Monster Truck Championship

Monster Truck Championship

I have just completed the game and have a viewpoint.

For the asking price of US. $40, I might have expected a little more so I hope the Devs add something to the pot here in the way of some bug fixes, physics tweaks and maybe add another arena or two (A sandbox editor would be awesome!) but all in all, the game is fun. Took about 20hrs. Monster truck madness comes to mind. I play with keyboard controls. It takes a short time to get used to steering with both front and rear wheels and once you get the knack, it makes performing stunts easier and cuts loads off your racing times.

It’s the best Monster Trucks game on steam and probably on the Internet, has:

  • A handful of customizations that includes the: Body, Rims, Exhaust and Top/Front/Rear Attachment.

–——–+ Not forgetting Liveries and stickers.

  • Has a Career mode that’s basically you racing in leagues and competing against other AI drivers.

  • Has a Quick Play mode where u can basically play any event with custom options and custom tracks against AI.

  • Other game modes include: Destruction, Freestyle and Time trail. (Total of 5 game modes)

The Crew™ 2

The Crew™ 2

After 50 hours, The Crew 2 has left me with a lot of wonderful memories. They aren’t filled with the kind of emergent stories you get from exploring an open world and its systems, nor are they moments that involve goofing around with strangers–The Crew 2 is lacking in both those aspects. Instead, my memories are filled with the game’s variety of vehicular activities and the wonderfully curated tracks: the unrealistic, the impossible, and the delightful.

It’s surprising to see just how much The Crew 2 differs from the original game. There’s been a noticeable shift in Ubisoft’s last few open-world titles, one that’s moving toward a focus on player-driven progression–large selections of optional activities, non-linear structures, rewards for doing just about anything–and The Crew 2 benefits significantly from this direction. The gritty crime angle from the original game is gone, and instead, The Crew 2 takes reams of pages from the book of Forza Horizon. The game centers on a nationwide festival of motorsports where you, a rookie, are poised to become the next big star. While the setup is conventional, and the focus on social media fame is obnoxious, what it brings to the game is a colorful and upbeat vibe, an impressive variety of different disciplines, and positively ridiculous arcade driving on land, water, and through the air.

Hey all,

I was looking forward to The Crew 2 since I absolutely loved The Crew 1 (check my review on that game), and usually I buy the most expensive deluxe pack of whatever sequel if the first game was good. For some reason I hesitated here and it turns out my intuïtion was correct.

Total score : 4/10 … If you want to know why, read on.

The Crew 2 is an arcade racer, in an online setting. This merely means you may see a few other players passing by while you are in the open world. Your results are measured against other players, but this really is a single player game, in instances vs the ghosts of your friendlist or against the AI. The feeling is completely arcade, with no damage or tuning. Basically you don’t even need to brake much.
