This is sadly a hard no. I reviewed it right upon release and mostly complained about small basic quality of life things like zooming in and out and laying down conveyors by dragging instead of clicking each tile. There was an update that added a lot of that stuff so I gave it another go! I played for another 6 hours! no bueno

The workers completely ruin the look and flow of the game. They also blatantly glitch out. In my 6 hours I had to restart I think 4 or 5 times due to the workers just completely stopping. It always happened when I would add a few more workers or upgrade a few of them. I’d restart the game, change nothing and magically they would go back to work. Even when the workers do their jobs it’s just annoying to have to manage that. If there were an interface for worker upgrades or something maybe but there is no such thing. so you have to click on each one to upgrade them.

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly.

Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground.

The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don’t care what humans think is impossible.

Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black.

Ooh, black and yellow!

Let’s shake it up a little.

Barry! Breakfast is ready!

Coming!

Hang on a second.

Hello?

Barry?

Adam?

Can you believe this is happening?

I can’t.

I’ll pick you up.

Looking sharp.

I genuinely have no idea what to do in this game due to a lack of in-game tutorial outside of the standard directions and so on. Even the first level I couldn’t figure out what to do with the power box above the door because it just expects you to figure out everything yourself. If there would be an instruction guide patched into the game, it would have potential, but as of its current state, I cannot see myself playing this again.

Survive and Explore.

Character

  • Customize your character’s looks and wager what advantages and weaknesses your character will have.

  • Prevent oxygen depletion at all costs.

Build Ships

  • Build the hull, maintenance, flooring, and wall layers of a ship to make it functional and free of oxygen leaks. Place wires, pipes, and cables on the maintenance levels to implement connectivity amongst machinery across the ship.

  • Create and incorporate machinery to make your ship functional.

Resources

  • Mine asteroids for different resources to run your ship. Maintain an abundant supply of oxygen so your character doesn’t suffocate. Manufacture fuel to propel your ship.

  • Manage power through a connection of wires directed to your machines.

  • Craft resources into machinery and expand your ship.

Machinery

  • Build machines to help run systems in your ship. Oxygen harvesters make a sufficient supply of oxygen for the crew. Storage tanks contain fuel to be used in thrusters. Computers allow the player to navigate their ship through space. Conveyor belts connect to machines to make automated systems. Energy storage units hold energy to power the ship and its components.

Exploration

  • Navigate your way through deep space.

  • Find all the resources you need to survive by mining asteroids.

so! this game is one dollar. this is a truly unfair price - i think it could go fine at eight, to be honest. but what exactly is it?

with the grid and tick system and variety of parts, you might initially think it’s a zachlike, but it isn’t quite. there are 13 levels, and they don’t build off of each other or progress smoothly - they showcase entirely different conundrums. I’ve only beaten the easiest few, but i’ve had to carefully map out a maze of hands, do speed changes on two perpendicular lines of eyes to avoid collision, and stall out eyes in a box until the level ends automatically. every level is a completely separate puzzle, and they’re all very fun! it’s like a game made of only special challenge levels

One of the best zach-like games to exist thus far; A perfect rendition of simple rules leading to complex interactions. The retro pixel art and story featuring historically accurate rock star scientists lends itself well to a fun and engaging game about building the worlds first analog computer. The developer is active and responsive, adding more content fairly frequently, and the community is already both friendly and competitive.

10/10, would request lewd etchings again

First and foremost: This is a positive review.

I’m unable to beat this game however (PEBKAC) though, so I’m going to caution prospective players:

This game is HARD, and the tests in each level are NOT comprehensive, nor will they give the same results when run individually versus the ‘run all tests’ results. It’s VERY possible to make solutions which pass in test-all but fail on every single test when run individually. Chasing the test scores can easily box you into a dead-end solution path.

The test score results are NOT an actual metric for how usable parts you design are, and almost every part is meant to be used later after it’s made, without any clear description of errors compounding or what to watch out for.

Division of Labour

Division of Labour

In Division of Labour, the player takes on the role of The Manager in a developing nation called Auriverde during a world ecological collapse.

The player manages the workforce and machinery of a factory, fulfilling contracts and earning profits for the Overseer Corp. Buying resources, manufacturing goods, managing the workers and facing moral and ethical decisions are the core of the game.

Compassion

The player has the option to make their workers more comfortable to improve efficiency, or pay them more to increase worker happiness. Events may occur where the player can do a favour for a worker, give time off for a holiday or generally try to help them.

Exploitation

However, Overseer Corp always demands larger and larger profits, and so balancing these becomes the core of the game. To make greater and greater profits, more sacrifices will need to be made and corners will need to be cut.

Storytelling

Along the way, the player will be presented with moral and ethical decisions regarding their works and the world at large. Whether it’s simply a worker who needs time of for medical reasons or an earthquake on the other side of the world sending migrants flocking to Auriverde for work and security, there’s always decisions to make.

Development Progress

A playable demo will be available very soon. To stay up to date with development you can follow our site. For now, consider adding us to your wishlist!

This game is so much fun!!! I’m a terrible driver, but I had my fill of fun trying to stop the other cars. It’s my best strategy since I always hit the wall lake a log. The forklift is really funny, but I really need to practice more. If it was a real gig, I would have been fired and probably loose my license!!!

The music is really uplifting. It reminds me of Rock’n roll racing! I would love to be able to shot the other cars!!!

I’ll be playing much more and try to beat all the records!! Looking forward to new levels!!! It would double the fun!!!

hi there

congratulations on the game, im loving it. for people who like build an empire and have to think strategically to defeat the monster i really recomend this game.

I’ve been playing the game for about 14 hours now and while it was fun at start, some things started to annoy me:

  • First off, a dev who claimed (in discord) this game is worthy of a full release, which obviously is not the case).

  • Too many plots are taken by bandit camps and mining plots

  • Boats are buggy and can break sometimes (not allowing you to load resources on it)

  • It needs more optimization, i have a great pc but even for me the game started stuttering (ingame and sound)

  • Bandit camps need balancing. I have them with only kings, which requires a max level training field. By the time i can defeat them i have no more need for such resources you can get from them.

Caïssa Board

Caïssa Board

The first graphical user interfaces for chess have appeared in the 1990s. Since then, they have considerably evolved but are still very complicated. Caïssa Board is a modern Chess GUI that is capable of interfacing with many chess engines while being tuned toward simplicity of use. It also provides tactical and strategic hints such as the possibility of forks or the controlled squares. The public domain Chess Engine Gull 3 is included with Caïssa Board so you can start playing and analyze games without delay.
