Incremental Adventures

Incremental Adventures

Don’t be fooled by the negative reviews from people who played it for 10 minutes. This game has far more content and depth than they’ve unlocked in that short timeframe.

I’ve been playing it since it launched on Kongregate a year ago, and it’s been one of the best idle/incremental games I’ve played in a long time.

It’s also a game you won’t easily reach the end of content in, with an active dev that actually cares about his game.

As for the DLC things that people complain about: it’s a free-to-play game, and those are clearly just more of a donation option than anything else. You don’t need them to progress in the game, and you don’t lose out on any experiences by not buying them.

This is another one of the few decent idle/incremental games on Steam. I have two big criticisms though.

The gameplay does a one 180. It looks like a party RPG kind of idle where you allocate stat points and fight tooth and nail for progression through stages. It’s like that for like an hour or two. And then the character/class/gear system becomes sort of irrelevant for advancement. At this point advancement largely depends on what you have your prestige settings and general options at. Don’t get me wrong, it still an engaging game, but in a completely different way.

Drugs and Crime Idle

Drugs and Crime Idle

-Summary

I enjoy this game, there’s not a lot going on to it but it’s still a game which takes a few days in total to almost finish. You take the role of a drug dealer and you have the opportunity to grow marijuana and sell multiple different drugs. You got a variety to choose from. You unlock different areas on the map and upgrade your drug dealers in order to maximise profit and speed up the amount of time it takes to sell the product. You can start a money laundering business in order to produce clean money, as well as a gambling section to buy, sell and unlock different crates which give different rewards which are by chances.

I love the idle genre, and I want to like this game, but there are too many little things wrong with it to recommend it right now. I fundamentally dislike the lootbox mechanic, but even setting that aside, there are some serious flaws for an “idle” game:

1.) Your end game progress is capped by whether you have the DLC (almost every core game feature is level capped, but the cap is higher with DLC). I think the free version would be better advertised as a demo, and you have to pay for the full version (which I have no problem with). Most idle games allow you to pay for faster progress or an early boost, but this is the only game I know of where a free player can’t even approach a paying player in endgame, no matter how much time they invest.

The Perfect Tower II

I have been playing this game on early access for 2 months now (since apparently we’re flexing playtime in reviews I have 1475 hours). I’ve played a lot of idle games before but this is the first one that managed to keep me hooked more then a few days. There are a few reasons for that :

  • the content is very varied, much more then any other idle game I’ve seen before, with a lot of different buildings that feel like different games but somehow tie together really well (you can fight bosses, optimize a factory that feels a lot like modded Minecraft, or try to get the highest possible scores in the various experiments of the laboratory, and a lot more…)

I don’t typically do reviews. Usually someone else said it better and didn’t take 13 pages to say it. But for whatever reason I felt the urge to hear my own sweet Cherry keystrokes and here we are. Hi.

First off, this is probably one of the most, if not thee most advanced TD variant out there. It’s extremely involved and has system upon system that initially don’t seem too connected but everything assuredly is. Don’t go into this expecting Desktop Tower Defense 1.5 (My first TD game back on Kong). This will take hours to fully understand if you go in blind and don’t read a guide. The ingame help wasn’t much help when I started and the updates to it still don’t seem like they would be too helpful. But if you stick to it, the systems and loop aren’t in some foreign language and can be figured out with some time and effort.

Very delicious robot game where you navigate between rooms and use robots to solve problems. For some reason at level three it didn’t run for me. But as I try to point out in many of my reviews. I has potato.

~~TLDR: The game itself is pretty good but the state of the cash shop has led me to ultimately downvote this game.

This game is definitely better than a vast majority of other garbage clicker games on Steam. Good art, music, UI. The items can be a bit confusing. At least early on the game is pretty generous with handing out chests, so you’ll end up with quite a few weapons. To me at least, it’s very difficult to tell what is good and what is bad. I would like to see some additional way to tell how good a certain item is.~~

So, this review will be a bit long, but it will be a idle game lovers view, and marking all pro’s and con’s I see, with some thoughts on it.

What I would like to begin with is, I had a save issue, after I had drop some $ into the game, and I wrote a message to the email given when I was looking for support. The first response back was amazing. They gave many different ways to try to fix my save file from loading cloud, or finding computer save, etc. They said if I could, they would love to at least have me start from the beginning and they would refund “all” my shards. If I could find a save of me in the 2nd world, they would start me there while refunding all my shards.

Underworld Idle

Underworld Idle

The long-term progression in this game is fucked. Spending days on a run will give you absolutely pitiful rewards and I swear my only options are spending months slowly progressing and purchasing pitiful rewards that won’t help at all, or I would need to play for months without triggering a reset before I would even have a hope of entering the second faction’s prestige room to see what the upgrades there are like.

Let me elaborate a bit: In a few days, I can get between 150 and 200 ashes before things start getting really slow. To get one more ash, I need to multiply my money amount by ten. In order to get a single bonus at this point in the game, I need anywhere from 500-1000 prestige points (barely better than a 1:1 exchange rate with ashes, but saved between resets), and the bonuses I can purchase with those points tend to have effects on the level of “multiply your production or divide ash costs by a factor of 10-100” meaning I get ONE OR TWO additional ashes for EVERY run of the same length. For those to break even, I would need to do hundreds of runs, all of which take multiple days to complete. If I don’t want to rely on this ridiculous system, I could try to get a different faction’s currency up to a certain point, but every subsequent faction has like a third as many producers available, and the exponential nature of the game means it could take weeks to progress a single tier in their factions. I have literally no idea just how long I would have to wait before I could get to a level where I could even find out what rewards are available for purchase to see if the rewards are worth it in the first place.

TLDR: This is a clicker not an idle game, if this game was named “Underworld Clicker” I would give it a thumbs up, but since it is named “Underworld Idle” and it is not an idle game I can’t recommend this game. If you want a very active clicker game then this is for you, if you are looking for an idle game then look elsewhere.

Long version:

I have played this game for a long time now, I wanted to unlock every feature without any forms of cheats and I feel I did so now. At least every feature that is available at the time of this review.

Critter Clicker

Critter Clicker

Ok; I agree with reviews stating this is not a clicker game. Maybe ‘Idle Critters’ would be a better name. But I don’t agree that this makes it completely pointless and not worth the money don’t even have to spend on it.

I actually really liked it; trying to get all the upgrades and embiggen your farm is fun.

Plus, despite being a bit ‘bare bones’, once you get used to the interface it definitely has a quirky charm that I actually found far more pleasant than a lot of the more ‘polished’ idle/clicker games out there.

Real player with 335.8 hrs in game

There is nothing to this game. Great at first but once you unlock the very minimal amount of things there is to unlock that it for the game.

If the game gets a major overhaul update I will reverse this to recommend.

Edit the 80+ hours are from mostly leaving it on overnight for a few nights… really only spent maybe an hour at most configuring things.

Sure it is free but if the developer added way more stuff I would pay something for this game because in the beginning it is fun.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review, because at 217 hours of game-play at the time of writing, I have invested a lot of my time into this game. I’ve played since the first publicly available build, so feel I have enough experience to critique this and its development as time has gone on. And for anyone wondering I capped out at Lieutenant IV, hardly a rank to sniff at.

I enjoy this game, I really do, when the game goes right it hits that sweet spot so well and you come away with a shiny new rank knowing you were the best of the best in that game.

Real player with 278.6 hrs in game

I wish I could recommend this game. I really wish I could. But I feel like Valve took an idea they didn’t create, and without properly knowing what was good about that idea took it in their own direction, which ended up ruining what I enjoyed about the game. I played entirely too much of this when it was in beta, and I enjoyed every minute of it, even when things weren’t entirely balanced. The polish Valve put on the game with the interface and coding was just miles above the competition. Perhaps its better now, but TFT wasn’t even a game when Riot released it. I feel Valve had a great head-start on the competition, but I feel they’re ruined it, and while I don’t have access to player numbers, I get the feeling those would back up my claim.

Idle TD: Heroes vs Zombies

Idle TD: Heroes vs Zombies

ITDHVZ это IMTD от того же разРаба, с некоторыми изменениями. Поэтому напишу об отличиях.

Плюсы, в сравнении с предыдущей игрой:

Нет экзотиков, в некотором плане может даже проще формировать расстановку монстров на поле;

Отсутствуют щиты, а вместо элементалов монстры делятся на профы - 8 мобов в каждой группе редкости - по 2 дд, 2 бафера, 2 голд/эксп-фармера, 2 дебафера, 2 бафера;

Имеется 3 слота сохранений/загрузки для абилок на каждую карту, не только для монстров;

Отсутствуют скучные чалленджи, но есть принципиально новая музыка;

as far as idle games go this is kind of a sequel to a game called idle monster tower defense. when i say its a sequel mostly i mean that it is a similar game but built from the ground up to be easier to work on. at the time of this review it has little to offer as far as new content from that game but its a fertile start and the dev is already nearing new content released. I recommend this game as an idle game especially considering my optimistic attitude toward future updates.
