Dire Wolf Game Room
I tried this app playing the solo version of Dune Imperium. The app itself is great and is identical to the Android version. However, the app window was limited to a postage card-sized window that could not be resized on my HP Spectre x360 Convertible Windows laptop. It was hard to see the card text unless the computer was brought very close. Once this issue is fixed I will heartily recommend the app.

Caïssa Board
The first graphical user interfaces for chess have appeared in the 1990s. Since then, they have considerably evolved but are still very complicated. Caïssa Board is a modern Chess GUI that is capable of interfacing with many chess engines while being tuned toward simplicity of use. It also provides tactical and strategic hints such as the possibility of forks or the controlled squares. The public domain Chess Engine Gull 3 is included with Caïssa Board so you can start playing and analyze games without delay.

A=B
Good programming game. The concept is very simple, but the problems are complex and challenging, and with all keywords “a=b” language is actually Turing-complete, so this is fun.

I haven’t played much of the game, but I’ve beaten chapters 1 and (almost) 2, and it seems quite fun. However, you should be aware that the game doesn’t strictly stick to having A=B be the only instruction - but so far the extra mechanics seem scaled back enough that it’s still true to the spirit of the idea.
Despite that, I’m enjoying my time with the game a lot. It encourages you to think outside the box and the restricted instruction sets make it very interesting to solve problems. I do wish the main menu was a bit more inviting (give some sort of indicator of where to click first perhaps?) as it does drop you in with little fanfare, but overall I’d say it’s a good purchase at the modest price tag it has right now. Very cool and fun concept :)

Water Pipeline
Short version: 33%
As rare as pipe puzzle games are, Water Pipeline is just too barebones and haphazardly coded to satisfy even the most basic needs for this sub-genre.
Long version:
One of the biggest issues with this game is that it is difficult to determine what goal it tries to achieve. Technically, it is a pipe puzzle game, but there is zero difficulty. We get nothing but straights and elbow pieces, we can only rotate the tiles, and most importantly, the first two of the four difficulties give nothing but a straight line, where the solution is all but there already.

Quite a nice concept of connecting pipes in the correct way. However, the game is really easy and gets boring after about 10 minutes since there are only two types of pipes. The music is alright though. All 60 puzzles can be completed in less than an hour.

Dota Underlords
It is with a heavy heart that I write this review, because at 217 hours of game-play at the time of writing, I have invested a lot of my time into this game. I’ve played since the first publicly available build, so feel I have enough experience to critique this and its development as time has gone on. And for anyone wondering I capped out at Lieutenant IV, hardly a rank to sniff at.
I enjoy this game, I really do, when the game goes right it hits that sweet spot so well and you come away with a shiny new rank knowing you were the best of the best in that game.

I wish I could recommend this game. I really wish I could. But I feel like Valve took an idea they didn’t create, and without properly knowing what was good about that idea took it in their own direction, which ended up ruining what I enjoyed about the game. I played entirely too much of this when it was in beta, and I enjoyed every minute of it, even when things weren’t entirely balanced. The polish Valve put on the game with the interface and coding was just miles above the competition. Perhaps its better now, but TFT wasn’t even a game when Riot released it. I feel Valve had a great head-start on the competition, but I feel they’re ruined it, and while I don’t have access to player numbers, I get the feeling those would back up my claim.
