It is with a heavy heart that I write this review, because at 217 hours of game-play at the time of writing, I have invested a lot of my time into this game. I’ve played since the first publicly available build, so feel I have enough experience to critique this and its development as time has gone on. And for anyone wondering I capped out at Lieutenant IV, hardly a rank to sniff at.

I enjoy this game, I really do, when the game goes right it hits that sweet spot so well and you come away with a shiny new rank knowing you were the best of the best in that game.

I wish I could recommend this game. I really wish I could. But I feel like Valve took an idea they didn’t create, and without properly knowing what was good about that idea took it in their own direction, which ended up ruining what I enjoyed about the game. I played entirely too much of this when it was in beta, and I enjoyed every minute of it, even when things weren’t entirely balanced. The polish Valve put on the game with the interface and coding was just miles above the competition. Perhaps its better now, but TFT wasn’t even a game when Riot released it. I feel Valve had a great head-start on the competition, but I feel they’re ruined it, and while I don’t have access to player numbers, I get the feeling those would back up my claim.

Fate Arena (Alpha)

Initially this is a fun little game - you win everything, it feels like you are making progress.

Then it becomes rather dull.

This is an arena game - Auto battler/Auto chess - w/e you want to call it/ I won’t explain that go and google.

You collect cards of various types - these are your units.

These units have 2 main identifiers - Race & Class. There are 14 races & 9 classes.

Once in game you can place up to a maximum of 9 pieces (as the rounds progress) and find synergies between the race’s and classes’s you want to focus on - for example I might choose 6 Assassin’s (which is a class) and 3 more goblins (race)…

NUMBER ONE CHANGE: REROLLS NEED TO BE ALMOST INSTANTANEOUS.

The re-roll animation may be intriguing but it takes way too long, leaving you to roll throughout your battles instead of being able to watch the entertaining visuals of your teams fighting.

Dwarves - The stun chance feels pretty weak. Same with Golems, these two synergies are mostly strong because of the high cost units with high base health and damage.

Undead - Useless Synergy, would love to see it become 100% minion rate.

Wraith - Again, would love to see 100% clone rate, maybe of even more than one wraith.

Raivo

Raivo

Think of Pokemon + Championship Manager + Dota Auto Chess!

Collect a team of robots. We call them Raivos. These are highly advanced creatures that are quick at learning. They start with no knowledge, so everything they learn, through advanced machine learning, they learn from you.

Welcome to an alpha test version of Raivo. This version is not a complete game. The final version will be released around summer 2021. The final version will have in-app purchases, but the current version is intended for testing only. We will distribute the alpha version free of charge, and develop the game based on feedback received and metrics collected.

We’ve built an all-new AI toolset specifically for games in mind. When you train your Raivos, they don’t just level up – they actually learn from you and apply the new skills in practice during the game. Over time, they develop their own personality. Your Raivos will become your pets. Some of the features are not yet available in this version, but we will keep on adding more features over time.

Compose your team, equip and train them, and enter them into an online arena for a match against Raivos trained by other players! The current version does not have multiplayer mode, but the final version will feature online multiplayer against other players.

One more juice, one more squeeze, and before you know it you have 30 hours in this game and almost enough points to buy the poop hat. Did anyone else mention you get to put hats on your little animal friends? This game pogs me out of my gourd.

Now for the serious part.

Serious Review

This an an auto-battler, which means you draft a team of units with varied stats and abilities, and you get to arrange them in order. That is the full extent of your involvement. Once you have spent all your gold in a turn, you are matched against another player and the animals duke it out without further involvement on your part.

it’s fun, it’s free, but while i would recommend it, i fear there is a heavily addicting element bc it’s super easy to get into, so having picked this up less than 24 hours ago, all my waking hours have essentially been while playing this game. This is not a good thing. (but the game is good, just be wary if you could get addicted to this) There is no monetary danger of addiction, which is a positive! There is DLC, but there is a filter such that F2Ps cannot play with P2Ws unless they change their settings.

Greed Knights

Greed Knights

As of this review, I have 100% achievements on Greed Knights.

Let me get something out of the way, I DO NOT hate this game, nor do I think it’s terrible for an idle game. However, I CANNOT recommend this game to anyone who’s going for 100% like I did (the only reason I was able to 100% this game quicker than I thought was because of the recent update to reach Level 60 instead of 80).

Whenever I opened this game (after already grinding to about Level 30), I would fly by levels and just spawn into the Evil Throne over and over again to grind, and even leave my computer on overnight to grind. I wish it didn’t have to be this way, because now I have over 400 HOURS on record (probably would’ve been over 1000 if I had to reach Level 80, no exaggeration). An “offline progress” system is MUCH needed here, similar to Adventure Capitalist, or any other idle game I can think of.

This is the 2nd game he’s released on Steam, and I think the 4th or 5th of his I’ve played.

This is a short, simple, low content idle game. Good for grinding achievements maybe, but rather devoid of content. It’s got simple 8 bit art, which I don’t mind, and he reuses a lot of game mechanics and button/UI graphics. His UIs are confusing and chaotic. A lot of the time you have to hunt for the actual buttons or things you can interact with as often there’s no way to tell what is a display field and what is a button.

Incremental Epic Hero

Incremental Epic Hero

Im playing this since it came out a year ago. The progress is slowly, but in this game you can build up your character in different ways. Lots of loopholes allow boosts of progress. Many of these Loopholes are only working during a certain stage of progress. Searching and using these makes the most fun.

I play a different style, than the developer intended. I play without any reincarnation and i was still able to get the DS killed even before this game came to steam. Since then i made even much more progress.

First time playing this game - Unlike some who have had the chance to play it on some websites.

Easy learning curve and they introduce new features such that we are never bored. The biggest wall we encounter is probably the one for the reincarnation feature (different from rebirth). Be patient - We are not meant to access that content early on. Make sure you read some guides on how to beat the challenge though as it requires a specific strategy.

As for premium currency, we get a ton from regular quests and daily quests. Save to purchase any upgrades that improve you daily quests first such that, later on, you are guaranteed at least 1 to 2k Epic coins per day from the daily quests alone.

Incremental Cubes

Incremental Cubes

At this time I feel like you should probably not get this game.

Quick notes:

  • The game is free, but you should be warned that the game is still buggy and the balance is out of whack.

  • Also not very obvious in the video or description is that while the game is free, there is an in-game store where you can purchase stuff like temporary speed boosts, extra slots, and permanent upgrades to the game speed. You aren’t explicitly forced to buy anything and there is a daily bonus that can give you a bit of the in-game currency, but it’s random and even with the best luck (always getting the 3% chance reward) it would take 10 days to get anything really worthwhile.

Most recent update destroyed the game. In discord the Developer said;

“[v 1.0.7 “Hot Fix”]

Offline bonuses and helper updates

Adjusted to reset the original maximum value on prestige.”

These “helper updates” have caused people to no longer progress in the game at a reasonable rate. Game is now in a dire need of rebalancing. game is currently UNPLAYABLE as of November 22nd 2021. I will not be playing anymore. I will consider my $10 that I paid for the “starter pack” a “cost” of trying out this game. I do NOT recommend to anyone who likes Idle or Incremental games.

great auto battle game, good graphics

This is the best chess game I’ve ever played. The amount of depth to the game, while still in early access, is impressive. I think that the game will only get better with time and will have more players to compete against as the game grows in popularity.

Gladiator Guild Manager: Prologue

Gladiator Guild Manager: Prologue

I hope developers read russian comments, some of our community made some good ideas to realize.

So i have some too.

To start with some classes need better balance,

best classes is ORC (axe-man), ARCHER, HEALER and maybe DWARF (gun man)

and worst classes is FROST MAGE, NECROMANCER, BUFF MAGE and SWORDS MAN

ORC is really OP he got a lot of dmg and stun

SWORDS MAN got weak dmg and low resistance (block), ORC tanking better than tank class lol

HEALER got heal and shield, with ORC its gg ez

ARCHER just good dmg dealer, but she has some problem stayin close combat, she is way faster than all other chars but when they come close to her she cant hit n run any more and she startin close combat thats strange

I downloaded this on a whim because it was free, and was thoroughly impressed.

GGP:M is essentially a demo for their full game. It’s delightfully polished, and has a wonderful balance between fun and challenge. You can easily walk through the game on easy, normal will slow you down a bit. Trying for the “hard mode + permadeath” achievement definitely takes familiarity with various units' strengths and weaknesses.

Like other auto-combat games, you balance resource spend (gold for units and items, other misc. resources for buildings) and select a team for each particular fight. An underleveled team, properly constructed, can defeat considerably stronger opponents. A blindspot to your units' weaknesses will definitely leave you with holes in your roster. There is some strategy regarding unit placement, but it’s mostly common sense, i.e. tanks up front and ranged softies in the back. I do like that for each stage in an arena, there are 3 different options to choose from, each with a different mix of enemy units and number cap for units you can place. I will say that sometimes these are a bit out of whack, and a green fight (easy) can be more difficult than the purple (hard) depending on enemy team composition.
