Virtual Cottage

Virtual Cottage

This program is not a game, but a timer, that you can use to track concentration sessions. It’s good to use with the Pomodoro technique.

Some things that I suggest as an improvement are:

  • allowing one more sound to be played besides (wind) and (fire), so that you could hear wind + fire + rain OR wind + fire + snow; and

  • make a “mini view” possible, displaying “clock”, “minutes to go”, “sound effects” controls and “music control”, in a smaller window size.

If the creators really want to “gamefy” this app, I suggest offering in a “shop” different objects to decorate the cottage: vases, plants, calendars, pictures, books, cookpots, rugs, lights, mattress and pillows colors, etc. We’ll not buy those items, but rather receive points on sessions completed according to sessions' durations of time. Then, we can you those received points to “buy” those itens in the “shop” and build our own inventory.

Let’s start with the fact that it’s not really a game, it’s fancy timer and as timer it totally could do better.

You set a name, a time and if you want a signal when it’s out and when it is you may set new one. If you ask me I think it would be nice to make kind of “pomodoro mode” and allow to set 2 timers, for work and for break, so when one timer is out you press “next” without spending time on writing. Though one is nice too.

I love there’s set of white noise generators - can pick few at a time and pretend it’s gross weather outside while you sit here warm by fire. Having a plaid irl totally helps with mood. There’s also music option but nothing I personally like or usually listen so 🤷‍♀️

Everything I expected, and I expected to like it!

Game themed ambiance while I work! I think this is one step closer to making real life as video-game-esque as possible, so I fully support this effort.

A great little puzzler to stimulate your mind. If you’re a fan of Hidden Object Games you may have come across this type of puzzle before as you try to untangle a series of nodes connected by stretchy bands with no crossovers allowed.

Gentle music and soothing lightning make for a nice peaceful game. I enjoyed solving a puzzle or three at the end of the day to unwind. You’re rated one to three stars on completion based on, finishing the puzzle, the fewest number of moves, and then on the smoothest execution/speed.

I really like the idea of this game, confess your deepest, darkest, or just plain secrets. I think for other peopls sake though, I saw the trigger warning in the games description. But I think it would be ideal to present that in the menu screen too. Also I think that It would be a cool add-on would be to change the font of the text, for an example, in the preview, there is an eerie font. But in the app, its an Ariel font.

Love the game, would recommend if you want to get something off your chest, our you’re just interested in what other people are doing. Just know, that If you are a bit sensative, do not buy. It 100% will make you reconsider buying. But I overall give this a 9/10.

DISCLAIMER: This is a first impressions review, and NOT a full review

Confessions is a game developed and published by Peace & Love Games

If you’re thinking this is a game, it isn’t

What it is is a software that is trying to copy what made Kind Words (lo fi chill beats to write to) so great and a once in a lifetime experience and change it into this platform where you can literally post your “confessions” which can be anything from harmless banter to some seriously fcked up sht

It tries to be an “interactive art installation”, but in my opinion, it’s just allowing anyone who even purchases this to write the most sadistic, twisted thoughts and views you could imagine

I love the customizability of each world. I can wander around a natural environment- visit waterfalls, sit in a tree, change the sky, change the time of day and the nature sounds to match. Then I listen to one of what seems like a million different songs, and change the mood of my world to suit how I feel or want to feel. I like playing with the objects too. I seem to enjoy building a little lean-to campsite, complete with a campfire and a crystal, in every world!

My favorite purchase all year.

If you’re wondering what I’ve been able to do with FlowScape that led to my review, you can take a look at all of my projects here .

I knew the moment I laid eyes on this, I would most likely love it. It exceeded my expectations as a casual design & illustration tool that just about anyone can use. I have spent many hours putting together village & macro background scenes. The Sculpting tool allow you to create mountains, hills, lakes, rivers, as I see fit. The Painting tool allows you to create walkways. I can construct anything from realistic waterfalls to lost ruins with the Transformation tool to manipulate just about any object.

Wow, it’s difficult to say in words how impressive and relatively deep this instant gratification “game” is! Marketed as a game, but used by many as a 3D design tool. Oh, it’s not Maya, or Lightwave, or even Bryce or Blender, which is cool because we already have those. This is something different, and special, and FAST, and easy! And for all its limitations, what IS here is a lot deeper and impressive than you might imagine!

I’ve made a nice living from building scenes in 3D software for many decades, and I’ve spent countless hours working with wire-frames and pallets of textures and bump maps and lighting devices, and scratching my head over each new entries' exploration into the 3D modeling' procedures. It doesn’t replace those high-end spreads for many projects, but this WILL be replacing the high-rollers on a few projects and making my life so much easier!

This is not a horrible game, but it is a stripped down game. I would give it a thumbs up if I had bought it for less than $2.00 USD.

The good:

  • A relaxing fish tank to watch, with some gameplay elements thrown in.

The bad:

  • No explanation as to how the gameplay elements work. Trial and error eventually let you figure out what’s going on but…

  • Because there’s no way to delete your out-of-game profile, by the time you figure out how things work, it’s too late to develop a meaningful play strategy because you’re flush with bonuses that dilute any bad decisions you might make.

Nice update. Much better. It seems like it would be better to abstract the properties and get people into the game faster… You could have 3 settings… Easy, Medium, Hard, and then one or two custom setups.

At this point I would recommend the game, but if I change my recommendation it will “clear other users recommendations”… I don’t really know what that means… so I’ll leave the official recommendation the same.
