BDSM: Big Drunk Satanic Massacre
This is an enjoyable shooter chock full of rudeness, lewdness and dudeness. Definitely not for all audiences.
We play as Lou, the son of Satan and join him on his quest to reclaim Hell from the hordes of humans who have come for all the debauched pleasures on offer. Mostly these pleasures are fast food and sex. In order to save Hell from the invaders, Lou takes an arsenal of weaponry and blasts everything that moves into little tiny human or demon chunks.
The most obvious talking point of the game is it’s 18 rated content. There is a bevy of booze, drugs, rock n' roll and sexual references that definitely aren’t for all ages. A downloadable content patch removes censorship, but if you are easily offended, the game is not designed for you anyway and really having censorship is a moot point. Playing as the son of Satan, we shouldn’t be expecting a saintly protagonist. You will be shooting loads, in more ways than one.

For many players, the genre “twin-stick shooter” is a synonym for difficult games that mix fast-paced, long-range attacks, close-range mobs, and giant bosses with tons of health. BDSM is definitely a twin-stick shooter, but I wouldn’t say that this game is difficult. That’s because there are plenty of ways to abuse the combat system, in addition to a special ability called rage; (filled by defeating foes), that gives invulnerability and a lethal laser that overkills ANY enemy! It fits the game’s lore, but it’s unfair to the mechanics of the genre. You’ll never need to worry about ammunition, either: Almost everything in the environment is destructible. And since there’s a default weapon with infinite ammo, you’re covered even if you run out.

Sorry, James
Sorry James fails to deliver on its promises of intrigue.
I came across this title on Humble Bundle, and was hooked on the promises of a non-linear mystery to unravel in a work simulation setting. I have found moments in the recent past where I adored this sort of world building (thinking “Orwell: Keeping an Eye on You”). I snatched it up. I am always ready to enjoy an indie experimental narrative. I never expected to come out the other end disappointed. I felt I had become the victim of really good marketing materials, which ended up to feel more intriguing than the actual story itself.

Review of the gameplay - It’s fine. The puzzles are decent, and the difficulty increases at a good rate. Turn off the VX option AS SOON AS YOU START THE GAME. It doesn’t cause any bugs, but it makes reading some of the puzzle tiles difficult. It’s purely a retro aesthetic that isn’t needed. It’s worth the $2.50 for the puzzles I suppose.
I hit “not recommended” for this game based on the story though. Anyone who wants to create a story telling mechanic like this please repeat this mantra while punching yourself in the head “Non-linear storytelling doesn’t mean ‘open for interpretation’.” While I’m sure at least a couple of you are the smug type who already has a comment about “not needing the story spoon fed to me”, I stand by this next point. ‘Open for interpretation’ doesn’t work unless there’s still a satisfying payoff to go with it. This game sets up a few interesting ideas and threads and then leaves you to deal with all of them.

Bios Ex - Yami no Wakusei
Wearing its influences on its sleeve, Gogen Soft’s psychological thriller, is an ode to the visual novel scene of the ‘90s - and more than a fine read. Sure, it won’t win any awards for its original, long, multi-branching story, or high replayability, yet Bios Ex - Yami no Wakusei’s strong atmosphere, well-written characters, and great writing, manage to save the day. Oh, and there’s a lady with a mighty impressive décolleté here. What’s there not to like?!

I received this game for free thanks to the creator who wanted my honest review. Now that I’ve completed it, I’m ready to share my thoughts. I didn’t know anything about this game beforehand and so went into it completely blind. It had an interesting description and seemed to contain romance, so I decided to give it a try. I was surprised to find that it was a lot more interesting and enjoyable than I expected, as this genre outside romance isn’t my usual interest.
The story was unique, and I haven’t seen any other works with quite the same concept, so that’s a plus. The characters were all unique and nicely drawn, the backgrounds were well drawn, and the music was fitting for the scenes. The dialogue wasn’t perfect and there were minor grammar issues, but none so much that it took away from the enjoyment.

Scary Maze
I love bad games. Especially bad horror games.
You know, the ones that are so bad, that they’re funny, good or just silly.
But this one? Oh boy
You’re in the maze, with no exit.
Two kinds of zombies, four in game models (pentagram, skulls, weird table and not lit torches), one texture around you.
How to finish this game? You can’t.
I was stupid, curious and for my own sake i tried everything
I was feeling like some kind of easter egg hunter - i shot every skull, killed every enemy, checked every corner of this damned maze.

a true diamond in the rough. this gem is for the hardcore horror fans only though, its just too spooky for the average consumer. This game is so enjoyable as it draws back to older horror games while still improving on the genre. i wouldn’t be shocked if it wins GOTY.
