Letande vs. crappy Russian RPGs! Round 999! FIGHT!!! Seriously, though. When it’s about crappy Russian (also, Ukrainian) role-playing games, I’m a freakin' veteran. I’ve played and finished pretty much everything there was – from Заклятие (Spells of Gold) to Талисман (Talisman, an RPG in Slavic setting from 2003, not to be confused with German point-and-click adventure from 1995 and Nomad Games' adaptation of Game Workshop’s tabletop game). To be honest, though, I didn’t expect any new games of the kind. I mean, something like that? It was possible only during the very certain time period. A period, when majority of the Russian people didn’t have access to Internet connection and it was possible to sell pretty much any crap to them for the price of proper products. Games like Орда: Северный Ветер (Horde: Northern Wind) were possible only because there was no YouTube to show people what they’ll actually get for their money. The more accessible Internet became – the less of such games we’ve got. The lest one of the kind I’ve played was, I believe, Ukrainian Заговор Тёмной Башни (Dark Tower Conspiracy, AKA Dungeon Quest) in 2006. After that? All those wannabe developers switched to mobile games. Which are not nearly as fun to suffer through.

Well, I have no idea who made English translation , but he must be executed.

For rest of the game - world and soundtrack combined are TASTY , pleasure for my eyes and ears for this price. Blood is shameful though, combat - found it funny, but only for 3 hours not more.

7/10 for Indie like that. Trash cause of translation, but good enough for that money and I still understood the story.

Disclaimer: My actual play time is about 15 hours and I have only seen half the game. Yes it’s difficult but in a great way.

Oneiro is perhaps the very definition of “greater than the sum of its parts.” On the surface, it may look like something you’ve seen or played before, but underneath… Ah… Underneath…

There is something beautiful to the “nightmare” of the labyrinth: a transcendent quality to the game wherein its dimensions coalesce into something more. You might say, “What TF is this dude on?” Well sit down and let me tell it to ya mostly straight because this game hooked my apathetic @ss like a grappling hook in a flying spear.

Oneiro is a first-person roguelike action RPG featuring rock-solid gameplay, dead-serious challenge, and a shocking amount of extremely clever and effective design decisions. It’s honestly one of the best games I’ve played in years. If you love roguelikes, King’s Field, Morrowind, or just good action games, at this price it’s an absolute must-buy.

Its core combat is fundamentally well-designed because all damage can be avoided through skill, although doing so is easier said than done. There are several weapon types, each of which features primary and alternate (usually charge-up) attacks. Special mention goes to the default fist weapon, which has several alternate attacks depending on when you right-click during your auto-combo.

I like of diabloid games, I have played D2, D3 for a lot of hours and more than 12k hours in Path of Exile, what can I say. The game is very interesting, It is interesting to kill mobs, and this is the most important thing in such games. Good optimization, nice graphics (no ripped-out pixels). Although early access is still damp, but very suitable, I will follow the development of the project

Go through gloomy dungeons full of loot, monsters and traps. Locations are easy to walk through, although sometimes more intricate corridors come across. There is a lot of loot from monsters, so there will be no problems with what to wear).

positive sign:

  • Nice graphics in places.

  • Good music and soundtrack.

  • Quite a lot of types of equipment.

  • Nice, rather confusing locations. It’s interesting to explore.

  • Evil monsters with rapidly growing power. Fortunately, the quality of the equipment also grows adequately.

From time to time you’ll come across a game that you can just tell the developer tried and put a lot of effort into. Alient Planet Explorer (APE) is one of those titles. Other than the fact that the game is insanely short, there is a lot of good here if they choose to expand and further add to the game.

At this point, there is no story to be mentioned, but it seems like the intention is there. As the game has some tutorial dialog popups that look a lot like conversation boxes, I would like to assume they wanted to implement story and conversation exchanges. Obviously, the fact that not even a light story is present really hurts the game for a very large portion of the audience.

I enjoyed everything about this game and it was a lot of fun. There was no overkill as in too many weapons or armors to chose from. The bosses were challenging so I recommend saving your game before the fights. The quests were fun and each survivor gives new quests as you level up so you can fight close to your own level if you choose. The only thing I found to be annoying was when enhancing my armor or weapons the various enhancement chemicals would often fail and many of these chems are expensive and/or rare. That could be a bug or by design. This game was well thought out and organized. The ending leaves open the possibility of a DLC or sequel I consider to be a plus.

Book of Travels

Book of Travels

This is a very unusual mmorpg. It uses small servers, and many of them. The setting is pleasantly exotic. The artwork/graphics style is truly beautiful. The music is atmospheric. You play as a lone nomadic wanderer travelling a strange but peaceful land. You have to discover things as well as getting good at trading. The combat is pretty unique. Periodically you find stat-based object encounters called Endeavors, that will richly reward you. There are also plenty of worthwhile roadside encounters. There is a very unusual method for handling co-operative party play too. It is all simple, intuitive, and innovative.

There is something meditative about this game. While you can fight, you really don’t have to. I will admit at times it gets buggy, but I can look past that to the gem it is. Where other games give you a list of things to do and employ constant action to engage you, Book of Travels engages you with its world building, slow and introspective journeys and it’s skill system that you uncover along the way. There are so many secrets and much knowledge that you uncover as you walk the bereft of it’s massive, mystical world. I think, with time and more updates, this could be a incredible game.

Although I’ve never made it all the way to the bottom, I’ve really enjoyed this game! I’m ready to take a break from it, but may come back to it later. I love the simple mechanics, but I do have one suggestion. I’ve noticed the rocks and resources are in the same places for each new game. If you could find a way to randomize each new game but keep the numbers and zones of resources and rocks essentially the same, you would have a truly world-class game. As a retired developer/tester, I can appreciate the effort that goes into software. If it’s infeasible to add this feature, I understand totally. I salute you!

I like mining games, and I didn’t think this one would keep me going for so long but 21 hours later and I’m still pottering away in my mine. Aside from some minor quibbles (while a stone will push you away if you’re only a little close to it, this same mechanic doesn’t happen on lifts from what I can tell and lifts don’t work after lvl 1000 - can’t tell if this is coming or if this is a feature of the game), I enjoy this. Wish it had some achievements, but that’s just me, lol.
