Phantom 3D

Phantom 3D

Phantom 3D is a spiritual successor to early maze based 3D games of the 80’s such as 3D Monster Maze or Maze War. Like those games it has a pretty simple gameplay loop in which you must collect treasure and find a key and exit to get out of the maze, however there is a timer counting down that once it reaches the end a phantom will enter the map and head directly for the the player. You can get scrolls that will increase your time limit and can be used to push the phantom away once he spawns on map. If the phantom catches the player he takes your soul and you get a game over.

For a game that’s a couple of bucks. This is not too bad. Sure, the level editor is very limited and you can complete the campaign in under a hour or less. You can easily dodge The Phantom if you just go around him when he gets close. This is like the only horror game where you can customize your surroundings. In other games, the developers just either make you have to code your own or they aren’t targeting horror audiences. So, since this is the only game like that out there, It’s definitely something to buy if you can’t code or are looking for a time killer with just barely any replayability, which stinks but I guess no game can last forever

Beat Biome

Beat Biome

Play music through your headset and Beat Biome will automatically pick it up, reacting to the beats and wavelengths!

This is a pretty small trip, but fun none the less. Enjoy several psychedelic environments, even create your own! Just play some music and chill out, maybe lie down or bust a move. It’s up to you how to enjoy this, just keep an open mind and two open ears.

If this blows up I’ll make some more content, but in the meantime leave your comments in a review or email me directly with any bugs/feedback/etc you have. I’m a single developer and just made this for fun, so please be understanding if I can’t get to everything. Thanks, and enjoy!

Creepy Mahjong

Creepy Mahjong

Creepy Mahjong is a dark theme Mahjong solitaire with a twist.

Levels follow a story, but each time you play, the story might be different.

Completing some levels or failing to, will bring you to a different path of levels to explore.

In each level, you have to fight a monster, and with the pass of time, your life reduces.

Each time a pair of tiles is removed, you get back some health.

If you get stuck and your health isn’t too low, you can escape and get a new monster to fight with, but be careful because your health is carried from one level to another either if you win or escape.

To bring you more into the creepy mood, this game purposely has no hints or shuffle, and some levels might not be solvable due to the random tile placement.

It’s up to you to figure out and decide when it’s time to escape and try to find another match or keep fighting.

Create and Share your own Levels

Purchasing Creepy Mahjong, you will also get access to a Level Editor where you can create your own design.

After designing your level you will obtain a code that you can use to share it with your friends and community.

Share your creations with your friends for an endless challenge!

Shift Quantum - A Cyber Noir Puzzle Platformer

Shift Quantum - A Cyber Noir Puzzle Platformer

Shift Quantum is one of the greatest puzzle-platformers I have ever played

The game tells a story but we’re not here to talk about how this story is so good it leaves you with more questions than when you started. We’re here for gameplay.

Mind-bending puzzles are calling out your name

You are introduced to Shift Quantum by taking a quick test after which you are introduced to the world of the game and main mechanic called “Shift”. You might think that levels are easy, but the difficulty escalates quickly, but nicely. More time you spend with game the more puzzles you are introduced to and new ways to complete the levels. With time you meet new “toys” to help you in game.

This is one of those games where you’ll probably know whether you’re gonna like it or not just by watching the trailer. Chances are you’re only checking the reviews to see if people had any issues with bugs or dodgy controls, or how easy/difficult the puzzles are. Well, seeing as you’re here, I’ll assure you that it plays like a charm. A perfect marriage of slick platforming and clever puzzles. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the 15 or so hours it took me to achieve 100%.

Infinitode 2 - Infinite Tower Defense

Infinitode 2 - Infinite Tower Defense

My first TD was Vector Tower Defense, my second was Vector TD 2…and my third was Vector TDX. I hated all three, but I sucked at them. I liked the gameplay, I liked the idea…but I just couldn’t wrap my head around the strategy and wondered how one ever got to the higher levels– or even completed some of the maps. I loved hating those games, played the crap out of them on Candystand (RiP).

From there, I played every TD I found, even the crappy ones, just to see if they got any better. Over time, I didn’t have to play crappy ones, as good ones were being created all over…but nothing quite like Vector TD. :/

This was a close call if I push the yes or no button with the recommendation button.

This game has a plus side, which is the gameplay itself. It’s classic tower defense, no bells and whistles.

No unnecessary graphic 1upmanship, but instead back to the basics, i.e. simple outline shapes that make the towers you placed instantly recognizable.

You’ve got 16 different towers that do different things in various degrees of effectiveness, so quite the variability in terms of towers.

And that’s the positives. So now for the negatives, namely progression and R&D.

Developers

The developers are very active within the community and are an easy bunch to contact if need be. There is no downside I can speak of when talking about the developers in the time I’ve participated in the community thus far - they are an amazing team and I’m glad they are the ones to be making this great game. Anyone active in the Distance community has probably talked to them at some point, whether it be about a bug report, feature suggestion, or just discussing some of the many community workshop tracks. Occasionally they will host a livestream event to show off some of the community-created tracks on their Twitch and we have some great fun asking questions while they host a multiplayer server. All of their contact info is in the bottom-right corner of the Distance homepage .

Alpha Backer here

First and foremost: For a title that just now hits Early Access the game is working surprisingly well. The implemented gamemodes work, offline and online Multiplayer works, leaderboards and steam workshop work too :3

  • postive
  • negative

o neither, but wanted to mention

Gameplay / Controls

  • Car controls nicely

  • Lots of obstacles to avoid. Placement of obstacles can make for great flow in levels, ranging from hectic dodging to smooth precision driving.

Qbeh-1: The Atlas Cube

Qbeh-1: The Atlas Cube

The negative review that came up first for me on this page is so misguided that I feel obligated to counter with a review of my own, which will be my first ever. First of all, there are no broken or unintended mechanics involved with grabbing cubes at weird angles, that’s all part of the game. In fact, the game is remarkably free of such things. With hundreds of hours of game time, the only glitches I’m aware of all involve a specific series of steps that has to be taken to enable the glitch, none of which have ever happened to me accidentally during gameplay. The game is stable, extremely well thought-out, and the only complaint that rings remotely true is the one about the checkpoint/save system, which is indeed sometimes frustrating, but not nearly as much as what I’ve encountered in other games - this is a minor nuisance we’re talking about, not a deal-breaker.

This game is made by liquid flower who can be found here http://qbeh-1.com/ . It seems to be their one and only game at the moment.

I liken the experience of this game to going for a walk along the beach. Everytime i do i have to climb along all the rocks. Don’t ask me why. I just do. It’s not like i’m exploring new territory, or achieving parkor greatness, even though in my imagination I am. Eventually we play that game where you try and get your feet as close as possible to the waves of the sea without getting wet. Silly games, but they make the walk along the beach enjoyable.

ZeGame

ZeGame

I love a good puzzle game, and ZeGame is a very good puzzle game. The concept is simple-yet-innovative, the controls are intuitive, and the design is soothing. When I first downloaded ZeGame, I only meant to play long enough to get a feel for the environment. Several hours later, I was fully immersed in solving a particularly frustrating level.

Level progression is well thought out, introducing new concepts in each of the eight worlds, then gradually increasing difficulty as you progress through the world’s twenty levels. If you make it to the end of it, you are left feeling both triumphant and shell-shocked, and you probably don’t care that you didn’t achieve three stars on every level (there’s a time component in the scoring!), or that you weren’t able to complete all the levels without ‘dying’. Or you do care, and you’re going to be in for quite a challenge.

ZeGame is a fantastic 3D logic puzzler with great minimalist presentation, beautiful visuals, solid controls, good ambiance, and an impressive variety of puzzles. There are 8 “worlds” with 20 puzzles each. Each world features a completely different puzzle gimmick, so the puzzles stay fresh throughout. It also features a level editor, a ton of fun user uploaded levels, and a leaderboard.

The negative aspect of the game is that it should not have been billed as exclusively casual/relaxing. While the majority of the puzzles do fall into those categories, as one would expect of earlier puzzles in any game like this, the later levels get punsihing/grueling. Also, while worlds 1 through 7 all have well thought out logic puzzles, most of world 8’s puzzles are long trial & error 3D mazes with less of a logical approach. Also, to truly beat the game you have to redo all of the puzzles in “Blind Mode” which lets you look at the puzzle then as you start to move it becomes shrouded in darkness, so you have to analyze it all at once and memorize a solution in your head or write it down. Overall, the fact this game has such hardcore components isn’t a bad thing, it’s just I was hoping for a more chill experience when I started working on it and felt a little deceived. This eventually passed and I embraced the challenge.

ANYEK - The Keyboard Puzzle

ANYEK - The Keyboard Puzzle

Very cool and cute concept for a game! Currently there are some minor spelling issues (for example in lv. 20 it says “gices” instead of “gives”, and some level in the beginning (which I can’t remember unfortunately) is missing a T in a word, but I’m sure the developer would take care of these minor issues and fix them.

Aside of this, the game is really cute and fun, makes you really think in some levels - I like it a lot. Not 100% done yet, but really enjoying it so far.

Would recommend.
