Eventide 3: Legacy of Legends
Sadly Eventide 1 and 2 were better. It has been a long time since I have played a game that I was highly disapointed in the story.
SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW
Only positive:
The graphics were still pretty.
Negatives:
Black screen between every change of cut scene and movie. Was like it needed to load on a console when I am playing it on a PC…. and my machine is very capable.
Didn’t get any of the Slavic background in this game.
The music didn’t match, though it wasn’t irritating it didn’t fit.

This game takes you to a place with rich nature, exciting locations, mystical beasts and a few puzzles to get you along the way. You meet friends and foes, and in the end the characters have evolves, and learn something.
Eventide 3 is the 3rd installment of the Eventide series, and you follow the main character and her brother into exciting places, where everything can happen.
The music is relaxing, the puzzles are just challenging enough to be entertained, but also easy enough to not get lost. I finished all achievements in this game, except one on the first playthrough.. A misclick made me unable to receive the portal achievement at once. The game took around 5 hours to complete, and that is probably what most people will end up with.

Santa’s Workshop
This is actually a super fun little Christmas game. There’s not really much to it. You basically just pick out the packages that the elves want you to put on the sleigh to get ready for Santa. If you go into it just expecting a simple seek and find game I think you’ll find some enjoyment in it. It’s clearly meant for children but I imagine some adults might like it too. There are 3 different levels (the larger the number, the larger the level and the more packages you need to find). I went through all 3 levels and I enjoyed the game for what it was. If you’re on the fence, I have a video series I’m working on for this game. Currently there are 2 videos and there will be at least one more before the series is finished.

It’s a very short Christmas game for children. You have to collect all the presents, toys, books, bags etc. to beat all 3 levels. Great way to teach some basic moves on the PC for kids.
-
Christmas music
-
Santa’s factory looks good
-
you can’t adjust volume
-
maybe some achievements would be good to motivate the kids

Unlocked
A very relaxing, wander through the seasons. It didn’t take me long to start enjoying this experience. I wouldn’t really call it a game. There are things to find yet it is more relaxing to wander the landscape and ‘happen’ upon the small number of items. There is really nothing to ‘beat’ except your own anxiety over trying to locate the achievements quickly. I believe this defeats what is offered; some time to explore the seasons and enjoy the soundtrack. The music is lovely and manages to add a calming nature to whatever time is spent ‘wandering’ the landscape.

Unlocked is really good value for money because you get 3 games enfolded in one. Each game has a different story and each level has a different environment. All the variety maintains your interest. Each game has a host of collectables for you to find at your leisure and some are cunningly hidden. The worlds are not big enough to get overly lost, but challenging enough to get frustrated.
In Unlocked, you are an alien on earth and each level is a season. Game play involves you finding all the clocks which will open the door to the next level and some tubes. There is no clock to beat, so it is a calming experience to leisurely find what you need. The gentle music in the background adds to the ambience. There is one tricky platform area in this game.

Bear With Me - Episode One
Well, for some reasons I played this game many months ago, more than a year, and then the third episode came out few months ago so I bought it as soon as possible and played it, enjoyed it a lot and so on.. now the collector’s edition’s out on Humble Bundle as far as I know.
Anyways this game’s is a great hidden object/graphic adventure with an awesome story; I loved everything here although the whole game setting is probably too restricted thus don’t allowing you to explore as much as I wanted to.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is a clawsome game that is impawsible to furget. Having a charming yet grizzly atmosphere that you won’t find too polarizing, I just couldn’t bear to put it down.
Sorry, I’ll stop the bear puns now.
Promise.
Ahem, so ‘Bear with Me’ is an episodic point and click game with a heavy noir detective theme. But you know that from reading the description, and really if you’re interested by that idea then you’re probably going to enjoy this game. Yet if you’re still a bit sceptical then let me assure you, it is worth the time to go through.

Dracula: Love Kills
Very good game.
[As usual, note that my times are always long since I frequently leave games running when other things come up.]
The HO scenes are always appropriate to the location with a good mix of easier and harder to find objects.
Count Dracula and Igor are entertaining, but never so far over the top as to be annoying.
The main story is the usual series of finding things to get you to the next room (or part of the game) etc., but it’s nicely put together and kept me interested.
The puzzles were plentiful and frequently challenging. There was a good assortment of different types of puzzles.

For those who played Dracula: Origin - this game is quite different, more of the cookie-cutter HO/puzzle/adventure kind, albeit with special abilities and two different endings based on your decisions, which makes it distinctive in this genre. It also has 2D painted art instead of the previous episode’s 3D.
Pros:
-
Beautiful graphics, especially some HO scenes and the character art
-
The UI is very modern
-
Atmospheric and catchy music
-
The puzzles of the first half of the game are quite easy

Inner
The game has several good qualities and I am aware of the background of it being developed at a 3 day game jam, which is impressive, and I’m not discouraging people from buying the game, heck, it sells for about a buck and it’s definitely worth that. The game was just more frustrating than fun for me so I wouldn’t “recommend” it. The things that would have made this game a lot more enjoyable?
*** SPOILER ALERT if you don’t want to know what you are supposed to do then don’t read further***
- One line of instructions " Find items in the lower half and match to memories in the upper half and bring to the circle. 2) Put in a save game or at least a restart from where you left off. When you get caught by the ghost, you not only lose everything and start over it takes you all the way back to the Main menu and intro! I know it’s a short game but repeating stuff over and over is NOT FUN. 3) Put in an option for “slow or fast” ghost. Very frustrating to get caught in the long hallways and even using the run key, getting caught and having to start over. There’s a reason steam stats say only 6% of players have finished this 15 minute game. Get’s more frustrating than fun pretty quick.

Brian Clarke, who used to be in AAA is now a solo indie developer; DarkStone Digital and I just discovered him recently! His first major game was “The Subject” back in 2018 and “Inner” was his second title being the culmination of a three-day effort during a Twitch stream!
From what I was told, this short game (like finding a needle in a haystack in the store) will be the first in a horror anthology series! So far all his other titles, demos are of the horror genre and so I think I’ll be seeing more of him- you should too if you’re into being scared!!

Red Comrades 2: For the Great Justice. Reloaded
A poor attempt to cash in on the success of the previous game, about 25% of the locations and dialogs are from the first game, when I started playing at first I though I’m playing the first game again. puzzles are TOO easy to the point where you just need to visit all the locations a couple of times and youre done. The story line is very weak, basically one of the heroes gets some brain implant and they travel to the future to get it removed via plastic surgery, thats it. Most of the characters are reused, there are maybe 3 new characters in the entire game. The game itself is very short,

This game is more of add-on, than of sequel in a full meaning of this word. Much of game’s sprites vere reused, especially in the first location, but some new characters appears as jusk reskins of those from the “Red Comrades 1 ”. Also, albeit this game is stand-alone, it’s much shorter than the previous insallement, and can be easlily done in under in 50 minutes.
Conceptually, this game is mainly focused on how in the late 1990s developers saw “the land of the free” throught the prism of the Soviet folklore. They were also making fun of some “western realities”, that have been a fashion in Russia back then. Previous installement seemed to reflect briefly the same theme whilst our stay on the “Brothel level”, and this adds more.

This is a pretty standard Hidden Object Game. There are maybe 10 levels if I’m recalling correctly. Each level has 6 modes of play. Once you’ve played through each mode the next level is unlocked. The first mode is always a standard HO mode where it tells you what to find and you find it in the image. The second mode involves descriptions of the object the game asks you to find. The third mode requires you to find 25 of the same object (for example you find 25 cups). The fourth mode is to find the difference between the two pictures. The fifth mode is a jigsaw puzzle. The sixth mode is to find the two matching objects, like there are 8 keys and 2 are identical. In order to move on, you need to gain both a star and a gem.
