MUTATION PHASE
Mutation Phase is a very basic FPS with some RPG elements that seems to be more fluff than substance. It starts off promising with a story about how the zombies came to be and your character needs to collect weapons and find a way of communication to destroy them. There are 6 levels that unfortunately never really pick up after the first level.
The gameplay is very repetitive and boring, which can be summed up like this: move along the predefined path and listen for footsteps, which indicate another zombie mob is on their way. Take out the zombies, search their bodies for health and ammo, and reload weapons/restore health. Rinse and repeat. The first few levels are the same 3 zombie enemy types and then the last few levels introduce a new bigger zombie into the mob.

This game was surprisingly solid. Not very long, but I thought it was pretty challenging. It had plenty of monsters sneak up on me, and the enemy models are 100% the highlight of this game. I got this one off Indie Gala for pretty cheap. Not really into survival challenges, but the game adds that as an extra reason to play after you finish the “story” mode. I look forward to seeing more from these developers.

Presence
Short review: I bought this game at a discount. She disappointed me! Standard graphics in real engine, I tried to play on 3 devices, 2 of them lagged very much, every 10 - 15 seconds! In steam, the passage of the game (community content) is completely different, in the current version, the game leads me to no clear place and does not allow me to go further! What struck me the most was that when trying to collapse the game and go to the desktop, there is an icon of the engine on which the game was made, and the program itself is displayed as “Myproject9” - it’s a shame, I put 2 stars, just because it works. It seems to me that the reviews are screwed up…

When you’re gonna ask people to pay $6 dollars for a game that can be completed in a half hour (my actual runtime was 32 minutes), you really need to pack it with an experience. Unfortunately, this game is minimal on just about everything. The game goes like this; go to room, read note, go to room, get key, go to room, read note, on and on and on. You probably spend more time reading notes than playing the actual game. In terms of scare attempts, there’s virtually nothing. Some loud noises in the background, a boy standing in a doorway, and a hanging body that occasionally swings. The build-up doesn’t even lead to a climax; you simply move into the last room and the game is over.

Beyond
Full disclosure I am not normally a fan of first person shooters, and rarely play them.
That being said, the game wasn’t bad. I did find it lacking in a few things. I would’ve like to have known how much ammo I had, and maybe a stamina meter. Even as a minimalistic game, I think at very list ammo instead of flashlight meter, as if irl you can check your bullets but not your battery life.
There were some bugs and glitches, and felt the game could also benefit from an item menu to access health or batteries or even past notes. There were quite a bit of notes to find, many having only a single sentence, which seemed excessive.

Small horror game with good atmosphere and large, diverse map for you to explore.
However the numerous bugs and simple minded enemies, quickly turn the game into one goofy, “scooby doo” episode.
You’ll get scare or two out of the game, but the rest of the game will be comedy. You can’t do anything but laugh as you’ll trigger 20th time the same scriped spooky sound effect+rain inside the house, watch zombies dance as they can’t reach you and explore the map by falling through it.
At the moment I can’t recommend the game as the bugs are game breaking, and did cut me off from last area of the game. This game needs a lot of polishing and bug fixing, before I would consider playing it again.

Evil Park
Good creepy atmosphere. I was enjoying this game until I realized there was no option to save your progress. So what that means is, no matter how far you get you can’t save your current progress and if you die you have to start the entire game over. Guess this will be put on the back burner along with a couple other games. Will NOT be recommending this game to my audience.

Just uploaded a video on this game today, you can check it out here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOu3znzBGSA&t=977s I’m saying this because idk if anyone has had the same problem I had but in my video this game literally crashed an insane amount. The farthest I made it was that I got outside and saw one enemy after that I wasn’t able to progress any further without the game crashing on me. Seriously it would only let me record for 1 minute each time before the game would stop responding. And the only thing evil about this game is how terrible that flashlight is and how you run out of stamina after a minute XD. If the crashing issue could’ve been fixed I would’ve loved to actually experience what this game was all about but because of that I couldn’t see much of the game at all. Also the only evil thing about the enemies that chase you is how they either run after you forever or give up after 2 seconds lmao.

This game is not “good.” It has an extremely high learning curve, no tutorial, a clunky interface, poorly laid out and unintuitive quest objectives, sub-par writing, semi-frequent crashes, and is heavily dependent on the community “Combined Mod” to smooth out its rough edges.
That said, it is the best pure Pirate RPG available. But that probably says more about the gaping hole that exists in the market and less about this game itself. Aside from the brief but very welcome tangent that the Assassin’s Creed franchise took with Black Flag we have not seen a good single player pirate RPG in a long time; probably since Sid Meier’s Pirates. So if you need your pirate fix and are willing to take the time to learn this game, then you will be satisfied. But I can’t help but wonder why we haven’t seen a better Pirate game made.

Uventa
It is a dark gloomy night; lightning distantly flashes. You’re a security guard taking a cigarette break at a rest area on the grounds; the weather is turning bad and rain will be there soon. Time to make the rounds around the old abandoned school before the rain comes. You put out your smoke, get out your flashlight and walk up the path to the school’s gate and enter. You’re startled by a distant crashing sound - the local kids must be inside again, you had better scare them off the property! You begin looking around the school for their entry point. The school is decrepit and eerie with the dark stormy night adding to the effect. The rain has started and you hear a crash again; you move towards the sound and find a door ajar and enter. The door closes behind you. Now your adventure begins.

Despite all the negative reviews, I would like to write a few positives. The game has an interesting atmosphere (which is not based on cheap jumpscares), the graphics are very good, I liked the voices/music very much. I also loved the fact, that the developers have put some much effort in location details - I played the game for nearly 2 hours (altough the game itself is extremely short and can be completed in 30mins), because I really enjoyed admiring all those, real-life Soviet-era posters. Fantastic job! As a polish guy, I would like to Thank the developers for the polish accent in the game - a big smile appeared on my face when I found it.

I’m a pretty big baby when it comes to horror and the game did a really nice job at getting me scared enough to have a lot of fun. The atmosphere is on point, it falls short on it’s AI however, I noticed the monster teleport, both me and the monster could occasionally phase through trees and rocks which is a shame because it instantly takes me out of the immersion that was so well set up. I feel like there is something lacking with the spellcasting, the lack of animation or really just any sort of magic particles that don’t completely blind me (looking at you shadow-step) dissapointed me. it was short and sweet I liked exploring the world, trying to avoid the creature while I watch it in the distance, and collecting plants (even though I feel like this forest has more than a couple invasive species with how much muckweed there is) I had a lot of fun

The introduction for the game was good, I liked the map layout and the general look of the entire area along with the tree branches that heavily imitated the enemy. However, there wasn’t really a creation of atmosphere to me because although the models of the creature was good, it didn’t feel creepy due to what felt like a very fast walking speed for what appeared to be a slow monster that would loom over the forest floor as it hunted you down. It also seemed too easy to avoid the enemies as you could mindlessly crouch walk throughout the forest and they seemed to barely come near you due to the wide area given for just one creature.

AKAI NOROI
Solidly spoopy game. If you’re fast and clever, you’ll probably enjoy it. Check the other reviews first as they seem to be pretty mixed.
While the game has some decent spoops with a good atmosphere, I don’t think I will ever complete it because:
-
The AI corners me in the school so much that I’m ready to give up.
-
The blur effects that I have turned off in the menu are still there and it makes it very difficult to play.
-
The inventory interface feels clunky and reloading the flashlight feels like it takes forever.

Great game!
I personally think you nailed the atmosphere in this game. When you’re walking through the foster home you can almost feel the dust on the walls and a dark damp place that you don’t want to be in. Some of the smokey effects in the rooms also brought the room to life for me. The quirky effects while running down the halls are great too and give you the dizzy effect.
The soundtrack and the audio effects built the atmosphere up really well! Great Job!
I enjoyed the story and puzzles and also the intense chase around the school! xD
