Not much to get excited about - hopefully, subsequent upgrades/updates will result in improvements. So far, just stuck on one of Jupiter’s moons with not much to do…..hope I don’t run out of resources by the next update!! As it currently stands, I can not recommend this game to anyone until it becomes more playable.

What We Pretend To Be

Cheap, relaxing and really nice soundtrack.

This is the kind of game you buy if you have some money to spare, and you’re in need of a casual relaxation game. There is no point to the game, and it’s really really short, but honestly, I think it was worth the small fee. I love the graphic style, and the lighting is god-tier, but the texturing is kinda off-putting in some areas, with glitching clouds and the ground clipping with the grass. There’s not much to the story, but that’s not really the appeal of the game, so I wouldn’t leave much criticism there.

Very short game play, not much story. Mindless wheat farming, once the builder dies you can’t make any more improvements to your town.

I have personally been enjoying this game very much! I appreciate that I don’t need to worry about war or combat, nor must I consider the monetary value of my peoples (ie. slavery). It still can be challenging, and I was pleasantly surprised by the little challenges it throws your way (ex: the gremlins!). The aesthetic is very pleasing, and it isn’t very demanding graphically. I would definitely recommend this! I’ve written out some of my experiences and some tips! ♥

  • The Tutorial -

Doing the tutorial is a good idea and I do recommend it, but the tutorial will take you through pretty much the whole game, or at least deep into the mid-game – this could literally be hours and hours lol. But I would suggest stopping after you have started to explore your second planet., then proceed to your own games.

Before we leave is one the best games I have played in a long time for getting right into the game and understanding what to do. It’s not because it’s easy or simple. It’s because of the amazing job they did with the tutorial system and explaining the basics of the game.

You can play as long as you do not leave the game … because it does not save the game and generates a bug. It is a game that takes time to interact with it. It would be nice if he rotates in the background to be able to do other things while the game runs, which is not the case because the game stops if it is not in it. I hope the improvements come fast, it seemed relaxing. LOL

Eu espero que as melhorias venhão rápido, pareceu-me relaxante. rsrsrsrs

Edit to my original review….

This game has not been patched or updated. It is buggy at best but more likely broken. If you load a save and click on construction you get a screen in Russian and cant click back. No point in contacting developer as there are no updates. Game is dead, waste of time DO NOT BUY!!!!!!

Original Review (ignore)

Recommending this on a very thin line, with faith in the devs doing the idea justice. This is my opinion based on the current state of the game and it will hopefully change.

DO NOT BUY! This game can be fun but…only for the first hour when your small i thought it was a tycoon game and it doesn’t feel the way. It feels like Rimworld except the challenge is the weather and the “supply and demand system” so i will explain

Weather: Its too unpredictable it feels like some years your in Arizona where it hardly rains and the next year you’re set down in Washington and it rains all the time and sometimes not enough for crops to get ripe, even with no foliage. I enjoy challenging games but tycoon games don’t come to mind unless there is AI and ill get to that later. There is absolutely no research for predicting the weather if they get too ripe you can usually bring them down but if rains so much they don’t grow it is almost a guaranteed FAIL. In the start of the game its easy to deal with but in later stages two bad years you will spend almost a half a million in maintenance and if you can’t produce anything with the rain never stopping and rot eating into you’re yield you are doomed. There needs to be a way less RNG, I want a challenge, not a game based on luck, it just feels very lazy, even for such a cheap game.

Fair warning, I know nothing about wine but I am a big fan of tycoon games so I thought I would give this a try. I’ll deal with the positive first, the game’s graphics are attractive if minimalistic, and serve their purpose nicely. I appreciate the option to pretty up your vinyard with assorted items to create a nice looking creation. The full voice acting is also nice, if somewhat unneccesary. The problem though is with the core meat of the game, the winemaking and tycoon-ing. Making wines is initially a huge challenge, and you will barely scrape through the start of the game with no real knowledge of how to create each wine or the facilities to do so. Slowly, you learn the ‘recipe’ for each strain and can begin to make a 5-star wine every time, quickly accumulating vast amounts of money. Initially, I was stumped by how to increase my renown enough to upgrade my estate or unlock helpful worker tools, but then I realised that the Tavern, a relatively cheap building which also makes tons of cash, earns you an absurd 6 renown per month (for context, a month is about 30 seconds uninterrupted). Once I knew that, the difficulty curve completely reversed and there was no challenge whatsoever. I upgraded to the maximum and researched all tools and techniques within a couple of years, and hadn’t really needed to use any of them to get to a point where I was a millionaire with maximum reputation and totally bored stiff.

Car Dealer

I think this game as a lot of potential for a Tycoon game if updated.

Car Dealer is interesting with an interesting idea behind it. I do think they released a little to early to be selling the game, but it was cheap. I do not see this game being for $20 unless some good improvements where made.

I know this game is new so I will not be to harsh on it. There some bugs to the game that work to my advantage as well as annoying.

First bug being is on Day 3, I could not sleep anymore. My sleep bar went down, but stopped when it was gone. It did not have the tiredness animation when it ran out and the game kept playing the day/night cycle. So it helped to my advantage because I did not have to sleep.

Great concept, but needs some more debugging before it is worth buying. Ill review again when I can play it with less bugs and glitches.

Suggest to Dev - Open up for beta so we can communicate all the bugs and lets make this game great.

OK this one deserves my 1% of reviewing a game. Mostly because this is better than the Guild, there’s potential if the developer won’t abandon it in the future. I always start as a beggar, grab a couple of abandoned ones and make my money through searching all arround the forest for hiden treasures wich I find enough to repair and start working on my own. It takes 2-5 years maximum to have a decent status and go for the real money - over 20K. Problems start after that - I always and I mean always have a building on fire during winter especially one somewhere in the forest wich cannot have either a watchdog or a well, this totally sucks, I mean I have 20 fckn K why am I NOT able to hire a guard for my building - dev are you listening? It becomes SO boring starting over repairing a building wich I have had over 10 K in material in there - and I’ve lost it burned - waiting to be produced into goods and make my fckn million!!! Game is a lot about gambling cause except of the fish stuff all other business have competition and if you loose your hardly earned products you are in deep shhhiiittt M8s, again dev do something and save my bucks. Game is enjoyable but we need to have some pace in there things get on really slow can’t say it’s boring but IT IS rather slow. More to do especially with our caravans that are naive in gameplay matters (reminds me games back from the ’90s in that area) would be welcome, and hell yeah I may adopt but why can’t I have a mistress with all that money I make? - kidding. Waiting for a future patch I wanna see more to do and more safety for my ingame products and money - it is silly having more than 100K property and not being able to protect it - maybe a castle or whatelse to build or buy with your own private army, stores, moneysafe etch, that people use to have back in 900 AD, can always spend 200 - 300 daily to have 2-3 soldiers of your own as castle guards. Anyway just saying what I think is missing, up to the developer the do or donot thing. Even a DLC would be welcome if it does improve the ingame world and gameplay. I give the game a 7/10 and that’s only cause it has one of the worse save/load system I ever met in a PC game, loading times reminded me Total War Rome II turns before it’s 1st patch - you can have a shower prepare dinner, watch a movie and your save will keep on loading, if it wasn’t that issue a 9/10 for my taste, worth the money and worth the support give this game a try!

The only other game series I have experience of with a similar storyline/player driven intention is The Guild series, and yet, rather than sink my money into the third (failing) installment of that, I’ve decided to back the solo developer this time.

After having a good dig around in the game for the past few days, I’m really feeling it…the ambience, the gentle pace of daily life, the joy of having made enough money to upgrade something, spending lots of time surrounded by the peacful clucking chickens…er…yes, when you start off as a beggar, you spend a lot of time foraging the eggs at the coops. But, it’s all a means to an end, right? It must have been resonating with me because when I discovered that I couldn’t progress with buying my third building because of my social standing, I felt utterly gutted. (This only because the game has not been developed further than the third social class, being ‘Geneat’, but, I guess we’ll get there in time.)
