The Mystery of Caketropolis
The Mystery of Caketropolis is a neat game with a bit of an old-skool RPG feel. Playing as Rimentus, you follow the young dragon’s adventures as he gets to the bottom of a city-wide conspiracy. However, things aren’t as simple as they seem, and our hero will have his worldview challenged as he digs deeper into the titular mystery.
I like the writing for the game. The characters all have a very distinct personality and enough unique quirks to make them all memorable. The plot progression is also very well done, I never feel like the story gets rushed or lags behind with pacing.
! The twist on the alternate ending deserves its own special mention. Overall, an excellent storytelling experience.

A really nice game, especially if you like dragons. While the story isn’t groundbreaking, it’s still fun to figure out the mystery and try to figure out what actually happened along with the characters. It features both bad and good endings, both leading to interesting conclusions. There are also other smaller side-quests you can do while working towards the main quest.
There are a couple of things I feel needed a bit more work, such as different sprites having different levels of quality (some things are rather blurry while others are rather pixelated), the way to get the good ending feeling slightly tacked on, in some cases where you can and can’t go isn’t exactly obvious, and menus can feel slightly clunky at times. Most of these problems though are rather minor, though.

Sword Daughter
I guess this is one where I wished steam had a number or star rating rather than a good/bad option. I bought it some time ago, didn’t particularly like it so put it down for a while and picked it up again recently but found more of the same. Overall I’m coming down on the negative side of neutral with regards to it being a game book written in the 80’s. It’s not the worst thing I’ve ever seen but it has some significant problems with the story.
Firstly some of the graphics are nice. They’re in a consistant style that suits the game book. I didn’t find the music that intrusive (although I turned it right down after a while and it got repetative) and the sound effects are ok.

The first line of this story really should have been: Once Upon a Time. Had it started this way I doubt there would have been so many comments/complaints about character development and short storylines. Truthfully what fairy tale really does have in-depth character development or that much of a plot?
Storyline: Tyrna, a young woman (a maiden) has been trained by her father all her life to be a warrior. On the way to the Warrior Games (a tournament to basically earn the right to be called a warrior) the caravan is attacked by orcs. She is knocked unconscious fighting orcs and because of this is the only remaining survivor of the massacre her father dies in. Gavin, a half-elf/half-human ranger (on patrol) comes upon the carnage and revives her before the orcs return or wild animals find her. Of course it is love at first sight, what fairy tale does not have love at first sight. The adventure and mild romance (mostly of the happily ever type) begins here.

The Hunting God
I must admit that my initial thought when I first saw the title of the game was something in the lines of: “OMG this is going to be bloody and full of dead animals”. I immediately corrected myself because I realized that Tonguç Bodur wouldn’t create gore-y games (or will he ever?). I was right, The Hunting God is, as all the other games developed by him, a peaceful (and harmless), relaxing and beautiful walking simulator.

If you are familiar with any of the developer’s previous creations, you’ll probably know what to expect: for around 1h - 1h30' you will be transported to a wonderful place in the middle of the mountains, that you can explore at your own pace, accompanied by the narrator’s voice that chimes in from time to time. The exploration is one directional, the path is straightforward and you can wander a bit to the left or to the right of it, to catch a better perspective of the stunning views surrounding you. Doing this will allow you to discover several of the many Easter eggs of the game, consisting of funny messages hidden in the least accessible places.

The Hunting God is a short walking simulator with the expected beautiful environment by Tonguc Bodur. You take on the character of Nodens, the hunting God. Nodens is a deity associated with healing, the sea, hunting and dogs and was worshipped in Ancient Britain. He was known as Nuada in Ireland and Nudd in Wales.
This game takes on the persona of the Irish version as the narrator has a lilting Irish accent and many of the mentioned characters are heroes of Irish Mythology, especially the Tuatha de Danann race, Fionn mac Cumhaill (a hunter-warrior) and Cú Chulainn (Ireland’s greatest warrior).

Castle Woodwarf 2
My fondest memories of the early internet as a child was playing flash games on Miniclip - particularly those tower / town defense games, charmingly simple but addictively formulaic, that kept me coming back missed save after missed save. Developed by Domo Games, Castle Woodwarf 2 takes this familiar formula and adds charming art, a decent variety of troops and enemy units, and a challenge/difficulty system that allows you to revisit levels at higher difficulties, and unlock boss fights for each one once you’ve bested them on normal.

Yo!-Are ya here for the review of this awesome game?
You think the game is not awesome?
Well then..Let me start the review.
So about this game:
The game has 2 mechanics:Resource management and Tower defense.
You gather resources to build up defenses and your army while the enemy waves are spawning towards you.
What you need to do is survive long enough to kill every spawned enemy attacking you and end the wave.
There are different levels and the finish is at Level 15 where the Boss comes in-Defeat him and you win the game.

Demon heart

Divinity II: Developer’s Cut
Divinity II Ego Draconis and Divinity II Flames of Vengeance comprise Divinity II: Developer’s Cut. The former the original and the latter the expansion. Depending on how you play the length of the entire production can easily extend past 100 hours.
To start, customization was a disappointment. Selection is limited to a male and female model with appropriate sound samples from which to pick. Want to sound like a noble or a soldier then Larian has made that happen. What Larian did not make happen was allow me to choose an avatar in my chosen image. The hair and beard and color of both can be chosen but only female or male and human at that. The game has goblins, why can’t the player be a goblin?

Firstly please be aware that the naming of the various Divinity Games from Larian studios is confusing to say the least.
WHAT THIS IS: This is Divinity II: Developers Cut (Ego Draconis & Flames of Vengeance) (from 2012).
WHAT THIS IS NOT: This is not Divinity II: Original Sin (from 2019).
SHORT REVIEW
This is one of these good games that has been be slightly overlooked in my opinion. A good RPG and definitely worth picking up. It is an older game now so the graphics aren’t cutting edge but they are still quite adequate and with the exception of one glitch that can occasionally hang the game on a loading screen between areas the game is pretty solid.

Gedonia
For one, the developer really cares about this game and it’s still being updated. Two, currently it’s on sale and it’s definitely worth more than what it is, even normal price. If you want a fresh Indie RPG with a nostalgic feeling, character customization, and open world; this it it. Will update my review in the future.
::Update::
Still playing and it’s amazing. Finally got to building my house, it’s a bit quirky with the editing and camera controls, but it will only get better. I haven’t even touched Dungeon mode which has an increased level cap compared to Open World, so if you’re into Dungeon Crawlers; well this has a mode just for you.

Some people are be nostalgic for the 8 and 16 bit era, and there are a ton of Metroidvania and platforming games shoveled onto PC and propped up by paid reviews. Gedonia is something else, and it made me so happy. Rather than the more common rip on the Genesis, Gedonia is like a lost gem from the original X-Box era, in the realms of Galleon or Kameo. There are a lot of simplified, modern touches, but the purity of the game and fantasy genre is endearing. It’s like finding out there was a 3D Zelda game you missed, gameplay wise.

Toren
Toren is not an action adventure game. Don’t let the sword in the picture fool you. Toren is a game of discovery, that happens to have a sword sometimes. This third person adventure game will take you on a journey exploring the existence of a girl and her quest in a tower against her nemesis: a dragon.
Right the wrongs of the past and restore balance as you play a child/girl/woman, exploring the tower and entering dreams to follow in the steps of great men. Can you slay the dragon and restore order to the universe? Only time will tell.
– Real player with 9.6 hrs in game
My overall rating for Toren: 88/100
Clearly amazing game from an inpedendent studio. Swordtales proved us, that even with a low budget, the story can be narrated with lovely elements, tension and epic finale. Another great thing from Brazil! Let’s see in a detail this lovely title, which tells us about pride of humanity, punishment for their crimes and a hope hidden within a girl’s heart.
