On The Earth Shift :)
“On the Earth Shift :)" is a VR resource management game / romantic experience about doing your silly alien job while your silly alien fish friend watches.
Your silly alien job is, as the title would imply, taking care of the Earth! It is your job to ensure that all aspects of Earth life flourish in perfect harmony, including global temperature, the horniess of the population, and the desire to dominate / submit to one another.
However, alien management from Glorf-31 have their own ideas on how Earth should be managed, such as Snarglarff Sneet, obsessed with extracting value from Earth, Elgore Smankoff, who wishes to perform sick experiments on the planet, and Mire Oodle, who just wants a friend, along with many others. It is your job to accept or deny their requests, as the world’s fate hangs in the balance,

Alien: Isolation
I think this is one of the best games ever made. Its ironic it came on the heels of the disaster which was Colonial Marines (Which I kind of like, particularly in its extended content which is where Isolation originated)
Anyway, really scary AI Alien that one shots you and does learn your play habits forcing you to constantly change things up. Excellent attention to detail of the original Alien movie props. Its a game filled with jump-scares even when you know whats coming. Game allows backtracking to previous set pieces once you have more equipment to deal with obstructions.

I’ll keep this simple: best horror game ever made, go play now.
For Alien fans: if you haven’t played this, you’re missing out on something better than Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection combined could have ever been. This is the true 3rd installment in the franchise and is a true piece of art from start to finish in all its details.

The ordinary case of Margaret Luoni
The head of the laboratory turned to Dirk for help in the investigation of the murder of his employee. What happened to one of the greatest minds in the Cat Head Nebula? What color do the Sumlings hate? Where can I get carbs for my secretary? And in what order did the great Blork Gnarbs draw his pictures? Why me?
You will find the answer to these and other obviously important questions by helping Dirk in the investigation.
-
World: In a world where teleportation and robots are as commonplace as a cup of coffee, there are almost no living plants left. Humans are a lower caste and they are doing the work that hardly anyone else wants to do. For example, to investigate murders. The Margaret Luoni case is one of detective Dirk’s many investigations. There will be others! Learn new details of the futuristic universe and meet new galactic races.
-
Plot: Travel between planets of the Cat Head Nebula, interrogate witnesses, and find new evidence. Solve puzzles and approach different witnesses with Galactic Handbooks. There are no obvious solutions here, find your own way to solve problems and get 2 different endings.
-
Graphics: Everything from locations to the smallest of objects is hand-drawn, as well as painstakingly created character animations
-
Music: amazingly atmospheric music

spoilers, not that it’ll mean much
i can confidently say that whatever you expect from this game- you wont get. it opens with 2 minutes of footage of an expedition in the arctic accompanied with what i would describe as music for people who like the sound of nails on a chalkboard (which certainly spices up the footage, if a bit loud). after this we cut to some of the dryest turnbased rpg gameplay ive ever experienced with 2.5D controls so bad it made my head hurt. why make a game 2.5D with grid movement? why only slimes? it took me 5 minutes to figure out the controls.

Outwars
Awesome! never thought i’d get to play this again, a real nostalgia rush

I was quite excited to see this game in Steam as this formed my childhood memories from PC gaming. It saddens me to give this game a negative review but I cant recommend this game with good conscience as it is plagued with technical issues.
-
Menu’s work very poorly with mouse which I find odd as the original had good mouse support.
-
Cutscene’s don’t play video, only audio.
-
Game crashes often, even in compatibility mode.
-
For old game like this getting re-released one would expect certain modern fixes (resolution for one.) Game’s max resolution is only 640x480. (I could overlook this if not for all other problems)

Signal Simulator
This is a great game, but conditionally. It has a certain type of audience that loves it to death, while a significant other group of people will find it monotonous, boring, and a waste of money. I’d highly recommend looking on Youtube for videos published in at least August 2019 to see the newer updates and what this game entails. This will most likely be enough to give you an idea of which group you’re in, and whether you’ll love or hate the game.
That said, I find this game very enjoyable.

Signal Simulator is an interesting one and speaks to a very specific audience: the scifi fans and space enthusiasts.
You are the operator of an array of radio antennas and scan the sky for signs of extraterrestrial radio signals, while having to look out for your battery charge (solar powered, so it drains at night), server failures and temperature of said servers. The resource management remains at a very manageable level, though, and is improvable through upgrades for you observatory. The game mechanics are easy to learn. Unfortunatly they lack a bit of variety, but it’s a simulator. I guess we expect some grind in those.
