Carly and the Reaperman - Escape from the Underworld

Carly and the Reaperman - Escape from the Underworld

Review changed to positive after returning to finish the game.

Our initial few hours in the game were plagued by controller issues: the PC player’s controller would periodically stop working.

What we managed to play we loved though, and after returning a few months later controller problems seemed resolved, and we got through several worlds worth of excellent levels.

Another break happened when my headset needed warranty repair (not this games fault!), and when we came back again our progress was stuck. New worlds wouldn’t open up, and the hub NPC’s dialogue was back at the start of the game. Our progress was all saved; every level we entered correctly showed all the collectable fireflies were still caught, but we had to play through every (now empty) level again in order to advance the story.

My wife asked to write the review for this one:

“Carly and the Reaperman is even more fun than the trailer suggests! I had the happiest of times playing with my husband. His platforming skills made him the best choice for Carly and I played as the Reaperman. With its beautiful art style, increasingly elaborate level design and a seemingly simple, yet very poignant narrative, Carly delivers one of the most creative VR experiences that I have ever played.

That being said, it does have some flaws. Several glitches in the game resulted in lost progress, forcing us to repeat some of the most difficult levels. In one instance, we found a way to cheat through some pixel perfect platforming just to avoid having to repeat the entire puzzle for a 2nd time.

VR Giants

VR Giants

VR Giants is a local multi player coop VR game, in which one player’s body is used to extend the level so that the other player can explore it. Goliath is a giant who is controlled by the movement of the VR player. David, the dwarf, is controlled with a gamepad like in any usual jump & run game. Goliath can help David to cross abysses or reach higher platforms by offering his body as a bridge. David is highly vulnerable to fire, spikes and other dangers so Goliath must protect David. Only by working together and collecting coins and keys they can make their way to freedom.

VR Giants sparks joy and teaches kindness and team communication in a fun and intuitive way by making use of the unique technological feature of two completely different input devices.

Very fun game, start a little slow, good for kids and training ;) but after some levels the fun starts, I liked the shape that make you turn and move your arm and body. I suggest to developer to include new peaces formats for the next levels and custom songs, but it’s nice I recommend it

Well… it’s something.

The game only has 5 “game modes” which consist of something non-sensical and boring, there isn’t really anything “relaxing” or satisfying about them. The music cannot be adjusted and is pretty loud. Honestly it just feels like a school project from 2005 done by two students that just served to be presented infront of a class and then forgotten. Definetly not worth the money, I got it from a steam gift

Planets Battle - This is a copy of the game - Battle for Sea 3D. The problems of this game are the same - poor AI, a crooked camera, poor design and an overpriced game.

This game will not even be played for free.

I do not advise her to buy, a waste of money.
