“You MUST'“Right Click' to use a Key”
Honestly, I liked it. Its super super short, but I really appreciated the environment, great use of transitions, both sound and light. I mean its a solid little indie experience, kinda like you would find on itchio. The ‘LoF’ inspiration is very obvious but it doesnt hurt this little gem, it still manages to feel like a fresh story with some fun voice acting.
My only real complaints, is the at no time, does the game tell you, you must “Right Click” to use a key. Honestly, had it not been for another reviewer, it may have taken me even longer to finish. The notes shade of yellow will some times blend with the light and many many times I trouble clicking on things, due to the reticle being the same white color as the pocket SUN that this guy uses as a flashlight.

A good game for the price and better than many games out there that are way more expensive, so give it a go. You can see that Layers of Fear was the inspiration for this game. The few problems I noticed was the torch seemed to be over bright at the wrong time, trying to read notes or look at photos or other stuff and the torch bleached out all the details, you had to point the torch away a little to read notes or press E. It would have been much better if we had clearer instructions as most of us had to use trial and error to open doors etc. Also the story behind the action was at best very weak but I appreciated the effort. Well worth supporting the developer.

Bright Paw
“Bright Paw” is a relaxing, very easy puzzle adventure with an adorable cat protagonist, cute stylized graphics, and an interesting story that unfortunately doesn’t really find closure.
You play as Theo, a cat whose owner has just been murdered. While trying to find the killer, you discover an entire secret facility full of robots, lasers, and other traps. The story is narrated via whimsical voice-overs, as well as texts that describe collectibles which you keep finding. The narrator also comments on your actions, similar to the narrators of “Bastion” or “The Stanley Parable”.

An adorable little 2.5d to top-down puzzler game that has you going through different levels and has limited environmental interaction, but going from a simple home invasion to, well, you have to find out, is like an early draft for something from the X-Files or a Cat rendition of an episode of LOST.
Game-play involves choosing a limited amount of cards that specify what action you want to perform at that time to traverse obstacles and explore the ever-widening story that makes me think of the show “Lost”, where it throws out a avalanche of ideas and design, but only explains a handful. /You thought it was a simple plane crash, didn’t you?/

Jiangshi x Daoshi
I absolutely love this game! It uses a refreshing mix of static avatars & backgrounds, with frequent animation and motion comic action panels reminiscent of Dead Leaves. This gives the game an extremely dynamic feel, which makes up for the lack of choices. Like many Visual Novels, heavy emphasis is on the word Novel, as such, interaction in this game is mostly limited to hunting for words that the in-game hover-dictionary may explain for you.
Jiangshi X Daoshi boasts a rich story packed with fantastic Chinese mythology/historical information, with a wholesome dynamic between the main characters.

I wish to bring awareness to this. Apparently this VN was banned upon submission because of certain scenes and they’ve fought tooth and nail the bring it back for us to enjoy. Bans usually mean end of the line for most games from what I have heard. I’ve went back in to check most of these scenes and they aren’t even close to becoming questionable. Really interesting concept and very well executed. PCI casts you as an armchair detective. The French police are asking for assistance with some of their cases. You must create an actual account in order to play online as a team or by yourself and accrue points after finishing up cases. There are 6 cases total ranging from around 30 minutes to 4 hours. The content is VERY dark in some cases and deals with some heavy realistic topics (I’ll list some TW’s at the end of this). While I felt uncomfortable during playing I was so hooked. The cases are riveting and the quizzes at the end really engage you actively with the material. The actors/actresses do a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life (even the worst ones) and not even making you realize they’re acting.
