Table Tennis Pro

Table Tennis Pro

I already owned Carom Billiards, Air Hockey, and Super Foosball, and decided to buy this ping pong game to complete my collection of table top games. This is a lot better quality than the other ping pong games that are available. It seems to be much easier to control this game with a mouse than to use my controller/ gamepad.

Tennis World Tour 2

Better than the reviews suggest by far, however they are somewhat accurate in their complaints, and I think some dev work on it could help improve it. Even as-is I think it’s good as a tennis game past the initial hump, and as a game in general I think it’s passable.

Specific points:

1. “I can never release the button at the right time, it’s random!”

The timing mechanic is difficult to grasp, because it is “release a button ‘at the right time’” ..with not enough feedback on when the ‘right time’ really is, because it depends on the specific animation picked - so how close you are to the shot, how fast it is, how far up you’ll contact the ball, etc.

Update after April 23, 2021 patch:

The game is approaching Top Spin 4 levels now. It’s not quite there in some areas (online netcode is a bit shaky and the variety of tactics usable in rallies is still pretty low), but in most aspects it’s now a pretty good tennis game. I’m definitely impressed by the level of improvements and support the game has gotten.

The custom animations for the players are a really nice touch that makes exhibition mode much more appealing. Graphics have definitely seen a big boost since launch which is unexpected but nice. I’m super happy to finally see the white on-court advertisement boards replaced. Compared to the version of the game that launched it’s unrecognisable, really,

The Ultimate Game

The Ultimate Game

Definitely a work in progress but the developer is very active and the discord allows you to recommend features and report bugs easily. Certainly feels like a game of ultimate and whilst the visuals aren’t super smooth yet, the physics and functionality of it are there. It helps if you know the game or have played it before, but you can certainly still enjoy it if you haven’t.

Whether you play Ultimate or not this game is a must try.

You get the same feeling in the game as you do watching a disc fly irl and the thrill from performing a good throw is nearly as good. The throwing mechanics are the best thing about this game for me as they are not impossible but have a large enough learning curve to be super rewarding when performed well.

First day of early access and already the single player gameplay is very good and no doubt the dev is still making changes to the AI.

Unite

Unite

Unite is a two-player board game based on Lines of Action (a game created in the 1960’s). Players take turns moving (with some unique rules for movement), trying to connect their pieces. The single-player mode provides 7 difficulty levels against the AI. Or play online against an opponent over the network. Choose from 4 different board types.

ChessCraft

ChessCraft

Never play the same game of chess again! ChessCraft is a chess AI sandbox. Create your own chess boards, rules, and pieces. Play against the computer or your friends online, or win loot by playing one of 80 built-in chess boards in adventure mode.

Many chess games already exist, but only ChessCraft allows the player to create such wacky boards, pieces, and rules and immediately play a decent computer opponent.

Create new pieces with any combination of the 8 bishop or rook slides, plus a 7x7 grid of knight-like hops. Create new boards with any enabled or disabled tile up to 16x16. Place promotion rules for any piece, anywhere, or other special tile rules. Create pieces that cannot be captured, or with ranged attacks, or pieces that restrict other pieces from acting. The computer opponent then uses concepts from computer science and graph theory to understand your creations and play against you.

Ghost Hunters Corp

Ghost Hunters Corp

This Game is a Gem. It sets itself apart from phasmo in many ways. It’a way more interactive than phasmo.

I love that we can buy/bring as many items as we want. We are not limited in this game.

You can pick up items around the map and throw them about and make the ghosts mad. Or even take some of the cursed map assets back to base for more money. The Ghost can follow you back to the Van, and even break the door off. House doors also get yeeted.

I’m used to give a chance to early access games, even if it means I could encounter bugs, crashes and lags (I’ve been playing ARK survival since the start in june 2015 !) But Ghost Hunters Corp is not an alpha game, it’s very well made and simply needs a few more contents to be released.

Don’t trust those raging players that yell it’s a copy of Phasmo. I also play Phasmo and it’s absolutly not the same game. Of course, the idea is the same, but the gameplay is slightly different: in GHC, you need to find which entity you seek before exorcism it. And AI’s behavior and reaction are different. The fear it gives you is also not the same. I like jumping on one and the other as if I did different missions, as being another kind of hunter 😊 It’s a real pleasure, except when I go to bed after that!

Curling On Line

Curling On Line is a Faithful recreation of the Curling sport. It has very sophisticated mechanics that make for a very fun game indeed. It is well worth getting past the ‘learning curve’, as the satisfaction of performing complex shots is immeasurable. The graphics and sound design are ok but leave some more to be desired. The only bug that I have come across is that about 4 stones into a multiplayer match, the game will suddenly end.

Never appears to be more that the last stone so no build up of stones in/around the house.

Graphics simple and OK for price but not a game of curling when only one other stone on the rink.

Happy to be corrected if I’m missing something but as I see it a waste of money.
