Lemnis Gate

Lemnis Gate

After playing this game on release, I said this about the title:

“Unique time travel elements make Lemnis Gate the most intriguing competitive shooter. The struggle to outmaneuver your opponent with mindful planning and skillful execution is exhilarating.”

Now that the game has been out for almost two months, I still agree with this statement. However, there are still some issues with the game. I’ll list some positives and negatives, ordered by how important/impactful I find them. Keep in mind that I have only played and am only interested in 1v1 turn-based. Some of my points probably apply to other modes as well, but in my mind, Lemnis Gate = Competitive 1v1 turn-based.

Lemnis gate has amazing potential. I know some players have experienced game breaking bugs. But thats not my experience, it can be buggy, the server does crash every so often. But I believe the devs can fix this later.

Now the gameplay, holy shit, its so good. This is the freshest game I’ve ever played, the concept hasn’t been done before and I love it. It feels like a game of chess with all the interaction and counter play. There is a pretty steep learning curve, more so then most FPS games. But once you get the basic idea of how the characters work, it all clicks together with how many options you have. Learning the ins and outs can be a little painful, but that feeling when you pull a massive 200 IQ play and completely blindside the enemy is worth every bad play you make along the way. its $20, great to play with friends. Give it a go, you wont regret it.

Razerwire:Nanowars

Razerwire:Nanowars

Razerwire: Nanowars is a retro (80’s) action-arcade game that progression addicts are certain to love. The game reminds me of the games that I would play for countless hours as a child. It is the result of a lunchtime, 30-minute a day, project developed by a dev who works on much larger projects. That makes this a bit of a passion project that has been programmed with love…. and that love shines through.

A Genuinely Pro-Gamer Developer

When Razerwire: Nanowars went on sale the developer posted the deal to Reddit’s r/Gamedeals and disclosed that the game was a part of an OtakuMaker bundle just as they went bankrupt. Unfortunately, he did not receive the ten thousand keys that he submitted back nor did he ever get paid for them. Other developers from the bundle who also never got paid had the keys revoked. However, knowing that legitimate purchases were made before the bundle was pulled, decided against revoking the keys. This resulted in a loss of hundreds of dollars from the loss of keys nor did he receive payment from OtakuMaker from the legitimate buyers.

This one caught me by surprise.

I got it as a title in a trade, but it seems like it might be bundle filler also, because I have a ton of extra keys for it. Know what, though? It is totally worth the price of the game in full. If I had known how much fun I was going to have with this, I would’ve bought it.

I went into this blind.

If you can’t tell by looking at my account, I have a ton of games. Most of my indie game choices are random. I see something, install it, and see how I feel about it. I’m very pleasantly surprised!

Rogun Arena

Rogun Arena

Rogun Arena is a game with classic game mechanics from the 90s and early 2000s. The game has 3 of the most popular modes of the 90’s:

Arena - you will have to fight with crowds of monsters at a high enough speed, which will require you to have a lot of skills.

defrag-classic esports mode for time. Levels with simple geometry that make the player use the maximum dexterity and features of classic movement. The game takes into account the parameters of the player’s position in space, the angles of inclination of surfaces, jumping (Bunny Hop), the use of weapons for additional effects on the movement of the character.

I like what I’ve played of it, but unfortunately it constantly crashes and ruins my runs, meaning that I unfortunately cannot recommend the game in it’s current state.

If these bugs are fixed, I will be more than happy to play the game again, and possibly re-review it.

This is my favorite FPS roguelite so far compared to Immortal Redneck, Strafe, or City of Brass. It kind of reminds me of Synthetik (another amazing recent game that no one knows) but in FPP instead of top-down. It already features a bunch of cool upgrades, abilities, and weapons and the movement in 3D is really nice. The ability to double jump and jump/strafe off the walls to avoid enemies is especially nice in the larger, more vertically oriented rooms that I would like to see more of.

All weapons are decently punchy, and they each have their own play style. Every one has a standard and alternate fire which adds some extra spice to the playstyle, because you’ll only be using 1-2 weapons per stage in the beginning. For example, the basic pistol ricochets with alternate fire, while shotgun shoots a long distance slug. They’re mostly projectile based, too, so the skill floor is higher than most.

Dammit, I want, I need, I crave some action. Got to be FPS, no more of that top down aRPG stuff. Done Diablo to hell, tired of complex Deus Ex, System Shock, Bioshock, Thief, Dishonored gaming. Even Dying Light has too many damn buttons. Something I can pick up and play after work, for either a short or long session.

I want some arcade like action. I don’t need no fricking doors. No more Elder Scrolls lockpicking. I want action.

I also want cool stuff. Like Liquid Nitrogen cool stuff. You know. What you don’t know? What is wrong with you young whippersnappers?! Ook, I’ll tell you what you want.

GREAT GAME ENJOYED PLAYING

i hater to say i liked how it started but i dont think its going anywhere so this is what you get. not enought after 2 years . no work on it lately kinda of tells you that they arent going to finish the game,

1. Eats a lot of computer power

2. talking heads really think the player dumb. after doing somthing for the3rd time dont need a head telling me how to redo it.

3. talking heads eat a lot of ram

4. the middle up button doesnt work game restarts by itsself in a few seconds. would be nice to have it work give you time for a break water bathroom what ever. Broke it down just like talking heads. Most people would know what the break is for

Early Access Watcher here.

Due to the size of the review, I decided to link to the main review instead of trim it down. Pixelbomb Games has a unique gem on their hands, but at the moment I cannot justify the price. I will re-review in six months and look forward to seeing how it changes between now and then.

Already I can see how much work has been put into this game- and it is a major step up from the flash version. It works amazingly, plays good, and most importantly: shows some very promising music. I recommend you check this out, and play through it.

I’m so excited to see the future of this game.

basically Soundodger+ but with a few very good changes:

  • it’s way smoother

  • additional tiny animations

  • 3 new cool bullets

  • more cool options for the bullet object

  • 10 different layers instead of one

  • prefabs

  • bpm snap

  • literally seven new effects

  • cool backgrounds and large theme creativity

  • player settings (which is cool for challenges)

  • overall less limits

and I like all of these additions!

Green world: Catharsis
