Live/Wire

Theoretically, a promising setup for multiplayer matches. Gleaming neon, futuristic guns, and grappling hook to move on in the multi-leveled brick-glass-and plastic jungles.

But. It’s a multiplayer-only game without any player base. A synthetic creation, which will never be alive. The dead end. Mark is 4/10.

Amazing game concept, could be much better with some development, if it was changed up a bit, add some standardised formatting with the UI could be an awesome game

Boomerang X

Boomerang X

Boomerang X is an insanely fast paced fling and zing game.

I see a lot of people leaving reviews saying that they are upset with the fact the base game takes only 2 hours to beat.

What they always fail to mention is that those 2 hours are packed to the brim with just about all the content you need. The arguably short playtime required means the game will never feel dull and every 10 minutes or so you will be introduce with a new environment, possibly new ability, and more knowledge on how to beat the next level. It’s addicting to go through the motions of progressing in this game which is why I think it’s so appealing to speedrunning.

$20 for such a short game is fairly steep (1-3 hours with New Game+), so I can only recommend this game to anyone interested in speed running and gyro. I’d honestly put this game at $5 - $10 max regardless of it being a speed run game. The only reason I paid the full $20 was because of Flick Stick.

An issue I’ve seen brought up is that Flux (slow motion) is too strong. You can use it every time you throw the boomerang. This feels like it was balanced for New Game+ as enemy density basically forces you to constantly use it. Since there is a super meter in the game (Comet Mode), I think there is an obvious solution. Make it so taking out enemies not only fills Comet Mode but using Flux will also drain it. Since the game was made for speed running though, I don’t think any changes will be made to Flux.

Grapple Tournament

Quite possibly one of the most fun VRPVP’s I’ve played. If you’re a fan of classic arena shooters, this is the game for you! And also everyone else because this game takes VR movement to the max.

The weapons are unique, and they’re balanced very nicely. Each one has it’s own counter, and each player even gets a complimentary bow attached to their wrist.

The maps have a bunch of variety, and each one supports a different slightly different play-style. There’s almost definitely something in here for everyone, and with even more new maps coming soon, you’d be missing out to not play this game right now.

Ooohhhhhohohooo mmmaaaaannnnn, Takes deep breath, okay okay okay… okay okay….. I must have a disclaimer to my opinion/excitement: I am have been a die hard fan of Unreal Tournament/Quake/Arena Shooter since the golden era of the mid-late 90’s, also, I am a massive VR enthusiast. With that said, this game is practically tailored by the gods for me, XD

It has the love letter inspiration from UT in the weapon design (primary/alt fire usage and combos. Flak Cannon, Shock Rifle, etc. ), in the level design with verticality, windy corridors, open platforming awesomeness, and the locomotion is nearly flawless. The health and armor pick-ups, jump pads (more of a quake thing but still).

IDIOTIC (The Game)

IDIOTIC (The Game)

IDIOTIC is a fast-paced singleplayer FPS where you can switch between alternate dimensions at will. Wreak chaos and improve your character as you move at break-neck speed.

–—-

Switch between alternate dimensions at will

As you are torn between the fractures of reality, you can switch between The Top and The Alt.

The Top has your “normal” reality with flying, deadly robots and people in suits trying to kill you, but also has the rewards and objectives. The Alt is a darker, deadlier version of the top with corrupted zombies and the Neon Stringler trying to kill you, but you can regain health and reposition from The Top there. Use them both to achieve your goals.

Wallrun, double jump and slide around in procedural levels

Every gamemode requires the need to use your advanced movement and your dimension switching abilities. Raid the ever changing city and cause chaos. But if you’re not fast enough, you’ll find chaos upon you too!

Use either a gun or a melee weapon

Each are fit for a different playstyle, with their own Temporary Boosts you can find across the map. Bonk/shoot your enemies to death!

Buy permanent boosts with the coins you find

In every combat gamemode you can find coins as a reward, either for your speed or ability to survive long enough. Use them to buy permanent boosts and improve your chances of survival.

#### To summaries, IDIOTIC has:

  • Alternate dimensions (only one is called The Alt though)

  • Stupid Weapons

  • Fun movement

  • High pace

  • Low IQ

Made by a noob solo developer that tries his hardest.

Best of both worlds: Rocket jump (quake) & Shock Rifle that lets you do great combos (Unreal Tournament).

If you liked Unreal Tournament, Toxikk, or just want to try a new arena fps, get this. What makes this stand out from the rest, are the perks (teleporting, invisibility, etc) and the different types of movements the game offers, such as, multiple wall jumps, higher jumps, etc..

The game is in an early access stage easily worth the $10. Its polished, has content, and upcoming tournaments. That being said, it can benefit even more by:

To sum it up: The best arena shooter in a long period of time, everything is done perfectly, bringing unreal tournaments best moments together with the best things, which made quake so addictive, movement possibiliets are brilliant, playing the maps smoothly to the gallery + the workshop support, which is perfectly integrated into the game, is the cherry on the cake. Thumbs Up !

Fun and unique, is what i would call this game. I was in a hiatus from FPS games for a while and this game brought me back in like a vacuum cleaner. Mixing tricks and style with a mobility 3rd person shooter makes for a really cool experience.

Some of the drawbacks are that this game is still really early in development, hasn’t seen much exposure (or at all for that matter) and the team running it is fairly small at the moment. That, however, is expected to change in the future and the game has already come a long way from its release on the 22nd of November of 2019. There’s new content constantly being teased and the game is taking shape at a rapid pace.

Found this game on the free games page, said, “Cool,” and downloaded it. On my PC, it runs a bit sluggishly, probably around 40-50 frames, but even then, the movement is so much fun. Me and my friend have such a blast running around and doing cool movement stuff.

My only complaint is the combat. I find it a little tedious that you need to press 1/2 to switch weapons when the 2nd weapon could just be an alt-fire. Reloading may have to change a bit with this change, of course. My suggestion would be to only reload the last weapon you fired. On reloading as well, it doesn’t feel right to me because if you reload while holding down M1, it won’t shoot after the reloading is finished, which kind of throws me off during a firefight.
