Excellent and very unique twist on the standard Breakout style games we all know well. In this game, you move in a 360 degree rotational circule around a mass of bricks and maneuver to make the ball follow you moving thru the bricks to destroy them. I like it, but feel it’s missing some of the more fun aspects of brick breakers such as power-ups which I believe would truly make this game a “breakout” gem itself.

Dustoff Heli Rescue
★★★☆☆
I’ve to say that I bought this game for 60 cents, so it’s hard to complain about, especially considering I spent 9 hours with it.
Having said that, this game is just OK. The main issue is the level design(s). Most levels are meant to be finished within 3-4 minutes, some maybe even in 1 minute. With only 25 levels, that doesn’t sound like a lot a content. Obviously, it does require multiple attempts to get a gold medal for some levels, but the length is still questionable. The lack of content becomes even more visible when you notice some levels are repeated. You have to fly through the same cave atleast 6 times, and that is excluding attempts to get a gold medal. It becomes tedious fairly quickly in overall because the whole premiss of the game is to retrieve an objective and bring it back to base. With a maximum of 8 places in your chopper (less with the starter choppers), this means you’ll have to fly back and forth many times.

This is a fabulous little game (4.5 out of 5), reminding me of a mix of Choplifter, Fort Apocalypse and a little Desert Strike, with bright colors and a nice 2.5D voxel-look. This game is among my current top favorites. It allows for a quick round or two-three trying to complete a map/mission, so is quite inviting for casual play. The controls need a little getting used to, but once you’ve finished one or two maps they do feel natural and add to the feel of the game (I’m using gamepad controls).

The overall presentation is great. Its fun with a good atmosphere that is very upbeat. The sound compliments the game. The only problem with a game as polished as this it needs a variety of game modes beyond the levels. Maybe I haven’t unlocked them yet, I don’t know. I have only played half way through the game. I know i could play the same level over and over again. But may be a local/online pvp free for all or some player vs environment mode like Boss Battle etc. Some RPG elements possibly as well. I’m hoping DLCs in the future will add to what I think is already an awesome game and worth every penny as far as I’m concerned..

Captain Clive: Danger From Dione
Super fun and a lot of content for one developer! The formula is simple: kill wave after wave of enemies and buy sick weapons that will help you kill even more. There’s also a ton of features and depth of interactions in the map, although there is only one. If you’re looking for a casual yet engaging game to pick up, this is the one

From the variability in guns to the complex plays needed in order to survive, this game has plenty of replayability. Every time I think I have the meta down it all changes in a few rounds when new enemies arrive, when I discover something else I can buy from the one of the stores, or a feature I did not realize was in the game is actually in the game. The game has plenty of options to allow for bad computers to run it fine up into high waves and still have look decent. I find the gameplay changes completely once you switch from third person to first person or vice versa. So don’t worry about this game not being enough because you can always shake it up a little bit more.

If the Dev cared about their game it would be in early access for dirt cheap of for free while they improve the game/fix it.
But even though there is a TON wrong with it, it was released as a finished game at a premium price.
That should tell you plenty.
When I think of what elements make up a great Arcade game I can't help but think of games like Contra, Final Fight, Heavy Barrel, TMNT, Street Fighter 2, etc.

A casual sideshooter indeed (note the "story-driven" part, which is a rarity in the genre, methinks) with a peculiar visual style and a storyline choke-full of references ("Roadhouse", anyone? No? "American Psycho"? "Commando"? Jeez, these damn kids nowadays…). Also featuring: a de rigueur synthwave soundtrack. The mechanics have their fair share of arcade beat'em up DNA, but with guns, which is a good thing IMO. Lots of weapons, explosions, and snarky bosses, just like we used to have in The Good Old Days(tm).
