This is not a good collection of mini-games. Quite frankly, there’s older collection of mini-games out there that are much better and light years ahead in the gameplay department (examples: Summer Funland, Loco Dojo, Rec Room, etc.). The game mechanics here are simply outdated. I had zero fun while playing this.

The mini-games are just too basic with outdated interactions. Several of the interactions are point and click type interactions. The controls are pretty bad in two of the mini-games where it feels like you’re fighting the controls more than you’re trying to play a game. The physics are simple in these mini-games. Overall, these mini-games function, but they are forgettable.I think it’s an interesting concept to tie emotions to a mini-game type. However, I felt mostly frustration, boredom, & even rage through all the emotions, even the joy and serenity games. I enjoy a challenge in mini-games, but these are boring challenges

Disclaimer: I’ve received this game for free via Curator Connect.

Soulpath is a small collection of tedious mini-games with mediocre visuals and very basic gameplay. Every game has 3 difficulty levels but I could not bring myself to play any of them again after finishing the initial level.

Here are those mini-games:

  • Beat Saber with a lot of bombs and without rhythm and slicing mechanics;

  • Unresponsive marble ball “labyrinth” with instant death traps;

  • 2 similar precision challenges with the most clunky throwing mechanics I’ve ever seen in VR;

Redd’s Runaway

Redd’s Runaway

This is a tale about pain, suffering, and vengeance; about hope, compassion, and mercy.

Inspired by the Red Ridding Hood’s tale, Redd’s Runaway is a run and gun action game, combining a frenetic playstyle with an aesthetic reminiscent of the traditions of Halloween and the Day of the Dead, in a short experience aiming for a great replayability.

  • A run and gun 2D game, inspired by classics like Megaman X, The Adventures of Batman and Robin (Mega Drive) and Ghost n' Goblins.

  • Get inmersed into a world infused with the Halloween and the Day of the Dead mythos, where ghosts, monsters and demons appear at every step.

  • 6 worlds, each one full of enemies and a level boss.

  • Obtain new weapons and switch between your arsenal in real time, as you develop your own strategies to surpass this nightmare.

  • Different game modes, like Arcade, Endless, and Boss Rush.

  • Discover a story about revenge, when the sorceress Redd must stop an Underworld invasion in Brock City.

Redd was an orphan adopted by a master sorceress when she was just a baby. She has learned a few spells specialized in offensive tactics, to protect other people from supernatural menaces. She believes that life, as is, is chaotic enough, and is willing to help others in need against the creatures of the Underworld. After joining the Legion of Sorcerers in her adulthood and starting her training, tragedy struck her life when an unknown attacker killed her mother. With a scar as a reminder of the event, Redd suffered a deep trauma, which left her confused and depressed, pushing away her best friends and teammates.

When Brock City is under invasion, she will use everything she learned to fight along the Legion and defend the innocent, learning new spells in her way to stop this nightmare. But this event may put her abilities and strength at test until its last consequences: moreso, her true believings.

Join Redd’s journey to stop this supernatural invasion and the mind behind this nightmare.

I love this game. Its not very story based or long gameplay, but its really fun if you’re energetic and want to get it out in VR. It really exercises your multitasking abilities, I’m surprised people like Jacksepticeye or other famous youtubers haven’t played this yet. I spent so long just getting all the upgrades and finding secrets; There are so many fun, little secrets like finding the marks with the telescope or reading the posters. You can tell the developers worked very hard on it and it certainly paid off.

This game is both a great introduction to VR and a challenge for those are veterans in the VR space. The game play is fun and easy to learn but by no means does it hold your hand the whole way through. The difficulty of the game is perfect since the game play is long and makes you want to become a barista or bartender. Funnily enough, I have experience in a kitchen setting and as a Starbucks barista and although learning the recipes for these drinks and foods is a different story, the fast paced working is exactly whats its like working in this field, minus the skeletons and octopus trying to steal your money :). As fast paced this game is I rarely ever felt sick or dizzy playing this as well. It was extremely comfortable the entire time. I highly recommend this game for its fun fast paced game play, variety of weapons and traps, and its funny humor. And as a plus, if you do happen to want to go into the barista business at a place like Starbucks which can get really busy, this game is an amazing way to practice the fast paced environment feeling.

MENOS: PSI-SHATTER

MENOS: PSI-SHATTER

The Game has great potential. It is lagging sometimes. But the developer is so proactive. He is releasing updates on time to time basis. I loved the game very very much.

This game is very dry.

Levels are undetailed. There’s only three enemies: pistol guard, submachinegun guard, and shotgun guard (this one is bald, that’s how much difference there is). You have three actions: fire weapon, telekinesis, and look ahead. Technically there’s also walking, but that’s useless and best left never used. Your character could win an award for most generic video game protagonist ever. There’s not much decor or interaction, beside breakable desks, black bottomless pits, exploding cylindrical tanks on some levels, and shattering glass, which the game author seems to have fallen in love with.

Crystal Cosmos

Crystal Cosmos

crystal cosmos is a good casual shoot em up with a twist you have to match your ships colour to your enemies to

destroy them . graphics are very colourful almost if you are in a cartoon 10.

sound is very plesent to listen to most of the track are very well done 9.5

most of the boss will give you a challenge i wont recommend going to deal with level 5 boss unless you got good armor

but the challenge is good 10.

the only con i can think of the game is pretty short only 8 stages so far.

so far the game gets a 9.75 recommend

Real player with 5.4 hrs in game

Crystal Cosmos is a very simple and satisfying shooter. Although it only provides for one direction shooting, the controls are swift and accurate which allows the player to move and avoid bullets and enermies.

You can use your mouse to control the movement which i find it much easier than the default WASD keyboard controls.

The BGM is pretty apt for the scenario and and the graphics are really pleasing to the eye with all the splash damage going on the screen.

Retro Classix: Night Slashers

Retro Classix: Night Slashers

The game itself is amazing, but I can’t recommend this port. I did one full playthrough, and suffered near constant flickering and stuttering, as well as random slowdown. Plus it’s the censored version with the green blood and all that.

Hopefully we get a patch to resolve these issues, but as it stands… it’s a monstrosity.

This is a fun beat ‘em up. It will definitely be a part of my Halloween fun this year.

I played it through entirely and didn’t have any problems at all. However, it seems like lots of people do. I’d suggest trying the nslasher.zip file in MAME 2003 or Final Burn Neo. They worked fine for me in them too.

Oracle Trials

Oracle Trials

Oracle Trials is a 2D platformer about a warrior in armor that reminds me of a kind of mario game.

Yes, the graphics here are pixelated, but the musical accompaniment and an interesting story make you not pay attention to it.

And as they say, we need to regain our strength by killing bad opponents.

Real player with 5.2 hrs in game

If you love platformers as much as I do, then you should definitely play Oracle Trials. I won’t say that this is a revolution in the genre, but it is a very high-quality platformer with a bunch of different features and an interesting perspective. I didn’t expect anything from the game, but I got a lot of pleasure. The game has extremely nice graphics, great music and very responsive character controls.

7/10.

I’m super excited for Freethrow’s first Steam game! Mostly because my friend Myles worked on this game as the Character Artist. I want to do what I can to support them, and I hope they see this review. I haven’t been the greatest friend to them in the past, I’ve made mistakes and I regret a lot, and I’m hoping I can fix that going forward. Here’s to you Myles, and here’s to the rest of the wonderful team at Freethrow, excellent work everyone! I hope this game gets many more positive reviews, and gains a huge following!

I really like the concept of this game. The killer is fun to play and feels really satisfying when you hunt down your friends, and survivor gameplay is tense for that exact reason.

The game has it’s issues though.

Although scenery goes transparent when walking near it, open doors remain opaque, and standing behind them completely hides your character model, which is one of the only ways to truly avoid the monster.

This is counter intuitive to the intended design, as closing doors are one of the only ways to slow down the monster, however, the door is destroyed when the monster slashes it. It becomes apparent it’s much better to hide your model behind open doors, rather than close it and risk losing it.

The hide and seek mechanics are weird. It seems like the ghost girl AI just hones onto the player most of the time. And this is on day one of the game. One time she was inside the house upstairs looking for me because the game before I was upstairs in the last bedroom where she always found me. So I think she was looking where I was the last game but I tried hiding in the garage. After that she always found me in the garage. She was close enough that I could see her through a window in the garage door but yet there was no danger sound.
