Fun and tense, watching the AI bot mimic your movements as you attempt to escape is both entertaining and somewhat terrifying, I’m excited to see how this game continues to grow and improve!

Antibody

Antibody

You are the cure.

Sanguon, an otherwordly and newly discovered planet, has found itself the hotbed for a highly infectious alien lifeform. After intercepting a distress call from the surface research colony, you conclude the infection rate will outrun your efforts to contact your fellow humans. It is up to your piloting skills and the peculiar cleansing capabilities of your allied Chonklers to save Sanguon - and indeed the universe - from Viroid assimilation.

Multitask to victory.

Efficiently and continuously reposition your Chonkler companions to impede the rising infection. But stay alert, as your friendly critters are completely defenseless and will need your maneuverability and firepower to keep them safe as increasingly dangerous waves of enemies amass to attack.

Their loss is your gain.

Viroid corruption siphoned by the Chonklers can be converted into power-ups by your ship. Radar improvements? Piercing shot? Do you save up for big upgrades, or do you enjoy a flurry of smaller ones? The choice is yours.

A blast from the past, in the present.

A love letter to shoot ‘em up classics like Gradius, R-Type and Defender. Undeniably gameplay driven and thoroughly indulging in 80’s sci-fi pulp, Antibody is sure to excite arcade enthusiasts.

Arcade Moonlander

Arcade Moonlander

Arcade Moonlander is both a fun and challenging game well worth taking a look at. The controls are precise and the collision system works well which is important for navigating the more challenging aspects of the maps. Although the game is relatively short (10 arcade levels plus the adventure mode level), there is a lot of replay value. For me the most fun and challenging aspect of the game is trying to do speed runs and compete with other players’ best times on the global leaderboards. Attempting speed runs on each of the levels, and then a complete run of all levels, gives many many hours of gameplay.

70 / 100

Games like this remind me of why I fell in love with gaming. Call back to simpler times. Precise controls with pure skill based play. Enough content for the asking price with some replayability vying for the best times.

  • Perfect implementation of the thruster & directional controls. Spot on!

  • Varied & challenging maps/modes.

  • One of those annoying games that is both frustrating & addictive at the same time!

  • Sticking the landing (especially at speed or low fuel) feels great!

Colossus Mission - adventure in space, arcade game

Colossus Mission - adventure in space, arcade game

I think the people most likely to enjoy this are fans of cave flyers, so I give it a recommended rating since that appears to be the game’s target audience. Meaning if you look at this list and think to yourself “yeah my kind of games,” then Colossus Mission will be for you. Everyone else will probably want to hold off on it, or at least wait to see if it gets any substantial updates.

In about an hour of play, I completed 55 of 73 levels. I expect it would take me another hour to beat the rest of them; the later levels were really becoming a steep challenge for me. The scoring system allows you to spend your earned points to skip stages if you find them too difficult. Each skip costs 5 points, and you can earn up to 3 points per stage depending on how well you perform while completing them

COLOSSUS MISSION is an arcade game with raw and slightly angular graphics and a various levels of difficulty. The first stages are easy but then the game becomes much more difficult. I recommend it to players who are interested in flawless playing games on time.

RaceXXL Space

RaceXXL Space

RaceXXL is a decently fun game, but gets boring quick without other players or AI

Pros:

  • Decent handling physics, doesn’t feel clunky

  • Foreground visuals are cool

  • Entertaining when getting wrecked by different obstacles, but that only lasts so long (see cons)

Cons:

  • No AI or other players even though game photos show you racing with another vehicle. That doesn’t happen, at least not

for the first 3 races, which was enough to turn me off from continuing playing.

  • Background visuals are a bit cheesy but I can’t complain for a 6$ game

Before you give this a go standing up - this is better played sitting down. In a swivel chair - preferably. As if controlling the guns off of the side of the millennium falcon shooting space invaders!

Found this through ModDB, and it certainly is ripe for a mod. 4 things you gotta do. Watch ‘High Score’ on Netflix, Youtube ‘Player One - Space Invaders’, Fire this baby up, and then watch ‘Ready Player One’ on Netflix, and the 5th thing is for someone to make a Pixelated Cthulunoid Mod for this thing.

JETBOY

JETBOY

Saw this on the new releases page for 5$ and said “why not”

Turns out it was a pretty good decision.

It’s a very simple game. Each level has basically the same objective. Bring back a set number of collectibles to the ship and then leave. Each level provides you with a weapon you also have to collect as it spawns randomly in the level most of the time. All of this to some pretty decent tunes.

You have a jetpack with fuel that replenishes slowly when on the ground and 3 hit points.

There are a few power up and gimmicks like a flying surfboard that has a flamethrower, a space worm that grows longer when it eats enemies or a UFO firing missiles for example. Those you can use yourself once you’ve killed the current owner

Amazing game. Given key for the game to try out and so grateful for it. This game has great music and also really amazing level designs. Perfect retro style game. 10-10 Will be posting content for the game on my youtube channel and social media. Check out The_casualgam3r on Tiktok, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube and Twitch.

Shudder

Shudder

I’ve had a play of this last night and it really is something special. Coming from a 2 man team makes it all the more impressive.

Imagine Geometry Wars without the shooting mechanic. Don’t stop reading there! The lack of shooting may seem unsatisfying for an entire 30 seconds of gameplay…that’s until you use the “shudder” attack for the first time!

Collecting energy orbs which appear randomly on the screen allows you to charge your shudder (meter) attack. This can be triggered with the “A” button on the Xbox controller, “X” on the PS4 controller or Space bar on your keyboard - I highly recommend using a controller.

Real player with 29.0 hrs in game

Shudder is a great take on the twin-stick formula, with innovative mechanics that are explained well, awesome presentation and plenty of longevity from the available unlocks. Essentially you’re tasked with destroying enemies with your “shudder” but you need to build up your power every time you use it, and different enemies require different amounts of power to be built up before you let loose. However, there are also some great additional gameplay mechanics that require you to prioritise the best use of your shudder ability…
