This game’s best feature is the background sound. The game is simple, move around and get the words without getting nicked by one of the hazards.

Read about this on r/languagelearninng on reddit, really enjoying it so far :) Love the ability to upload your own vocab lists. The music is great, although I’d like to see the option to use your own at some point in the future. I teach English and this is something I think a lot of my students would enjoy instead of using regular flashcard apps. Great idea!

Had quite a bit fun playing this game, really like the take on theme and the relative ease you pick it up and put it down. Music and visuals compliment each other well and all round is enjoyable. Very glad that there are so many different takes on levels that make each experience customisable and unique. Would like a community leader board.

Picked this game up for cheap thinking it was going to be meh but was left pleasantly surprised. The music is great, the visuals are awesome and the control scheme is simple but intuitive. I can see myself revisiting this time to time whenever I need to unwind and relax.

I have only played this game for a hour and a bit but i have already fallen in love it with, although there are some moments i want to shatter my mouse, the satisfaction of completing a level after attempting it over again makes it worthwhile.

This game is seriously hits the mark with it’s great gameplay and amazing soundtrack, would recommend you give this game a go.

Later levels are barely playable. Whatever service the game uses for login seems to be down (probably their website), which also means three achievements are broken: checking the rankings, sharing your score, and obtaining all achievements. As a rhythm game it’s very barebones. There are some nice parts to it, and after beating the game I sort of got used to it, but I wouldn’t really recommend it.

The calibration didn’t help much and can’t be adjusted manually. During play there is absolutely no indication of timing, so I don’t know how to try to adjust the calibration, if that even is part of the problem. Hits just don’t seem to register properly a lot of the time. Maybe because it’s hard to follow what the notes are timed to. Maybe because of how the game prioritizes your input to targets that are closer to the middle (that’s actually a good thing). Or maybe the timings are just weird and very strict.

AudioSurf

AudioSurf

Audiosurf is a very, very unique game and is definitely a landmark in the music/rhythm game genre. Unlike other rhythm games, which limit you to specific in-game songs, Audiosurf is limitless - it allows you to play any - that’s right, any - MP3 of your choice, so you can suit your gameplay to your own music tastes. This freedom is rarely found, if at all, in music games, and it has set the stage for other music games in the vein of it, such as Beat Hazard and the more recent Melody’s Escape. In my opinion, Audiosurf has infinite replay value, as long as you have a large amount of songs to play.

I’ve played this game for a pretty long while and still play it, simply can’t stop oO

Basically I launch drum & bass tracks in such styles as darkstep, techstep, neurofunk, liquid funk. From time to time I launch heavy dubstep which’s mainly deathstep style and also, sometimes glitch-hop, neuro-hop styles of glitchy Electronic Dance Music - it’s an amazing experience and makes about 90% of my races nearly impossible to finish with a good score. Tho probs I’m just a noob, but I still love it very much! xD

Avoid - Sensory Overload

Avoid - Sensory Overload

Overview: Avoid Sensory Overload is a really fun arcade dodging game, slightly reminiscent of titles like Race the Sun. You’re speeding forwards at an ever-increasing rate, and you control your little ship and steer it around to collect score multipliers and powerups while avoiding walls and holes in the track.

Accessibility: The easiest mode is very accessible to casual players, while the harder modes require lightning reflexes. There are a lot of flashing lights, so if you’re sensitive to that then you might not want to pick it up. The controls are keyboard or gamepad, which is a bit of a shame as I’d love to play this with the mouse. They are rebindable though.

Firstly I don’t know why the record says 6.5 hours. I’ve easily hit 20+ since I bought it. I have gotten more than my money’s worth for this title.

I think how much you’re into the ‘navigate obstacles at high speeds’ genre will largely determine whether you’ll find this game worth your time and money. It’s far from the best on offer, but it’s solid in most respects and can make for many hours of weirld relaxing-yet-hectic fun provided you’re willing to look over some issues.

Firstly, the difficulty. It’s unbalanced, and quite noticably so. These are the 4 difficulty settings, with what they actually feel like:

BeatBeat

BeatBeat

I received the full game for free through the “beat BeatBeat” Promo where if you beat the level “do my thing” on suffer you where given a free copy of the game (though you can not get it for free anymore but I bileave there will be future promotions, join the discord for more info), and I have, and will continue to, thoroughly enjoy it.

This game is difficult and doesn’t scale to well between the Resolve to Suffer difficulties (hard and super-hard), so be prepared. There is currently a level creating system were you can use your own music, create a level, and share it to steam for others to play. The level editor currently is pretty decent but I have not tested it out since any updates.

This game is actually incredibly fun, I highly recommend buying this game and supporting the people behind this because I can easily see this becoming the next big rhythm game.

Groove Coaster

Groove Coaster

I have never experienced lag with the controls that a lot of other reviews mention. Not sure if it’s based on certain hardware? I only played a few games on the arcade version, after playing this, and keyboard is much nicer for input, although the control scheme and lack of movement takes away from the intended experience a little bit.

The biggest con about this version is that it has apparently been abandoned after less than a year, which is a ridiculously short time for a game with so much content on other platforms as well as potential future content. Also, there is a LOT of content that was never added to this version but is freely available in other versions. If you’re looking for active support and updates from the developers, don’t buy unless it’s cheap. It does go on sale sometimes at least, although DLC is at most 20% off (some are never discounted), so even combined with the 20% off bundles you’re still putting out quite a bit to get all the songs. I feel the price per song is reasonable, though.

Real player with 220.1 hrs in game

NOTE: At the time of review, I have only played on a keyboard, and can therefore not speak on how it plays with a Groove Coaster controller.

Groove Coaster is a pretty neat rhythm game that has a surprising level of depth to it, but suffers from bad design choices and poor performance.

The game is very read-heavy in comparison to most VSRGs, which made it a very fresh experience for me as I’m predominantly a VSRG player. The read-heavy aspect comes from three factors, that the scrolling notes aren’t on a static plane, that input requirements are implied by different note shapes rather than note-location and the very flashy visualizers that come with every song.
