Phantom 3D

Phantom 3D

Phantom 3D is a spiritual successor to early maze based 3D games of the 80’s such as 3D Monster Maze or Maze War. Like those games it has a pretty simple gameplay loop in which you must collect treasure and find a key and exit to get out of the maze, however there is a timer counting down that once it reaches the end a phantom will enter the map and head directly for the the player. You can get scrolls that will increase your time limit and can be used to push the phantom away once he spawns on map. If the phantom catches the player he takes your soul and you get a game over.

For a game that’s a couple of bucks. This is not too bad. Sure, the level editor is very limited and you can complete the campaign in under a hour or less. You can easily dodge The Phantom if you just go around him when he gets close. This is like the only horror game where you can customize your surroundings. In other games, the developers just either make you have to code your own or they aren’t targeting horror audiences. So, since this is the only game like that out there, It’s definitely something to buy if you can’t code or are looking for a time killer with just barely any replayability, which stinks but I guess no game can last forever

Tags: 4-lane tuberunner with dubstep. Slow pacing. The bullets do not destroy obstacles and the powerup lift is arguably ill designed. Play Redout instead.

Fermi’s path comes across as a unity engine runner with aspirations to have a lot of accessibility to a large swathe of player. The level design always consists of a tube with the only variation coming in with the placement of coins and powerups.

Runners usually please me, especially the science-themed ones like ‘Boson X’ or ‘The Collider’, but I don’t recommend this game for it is unfairly hard and generally dull, plus it has blurry textures and lags on weaker machines. It’s very difficult to assess right distances for your movement on that monotonous pathway you travel, there are no landmarks to judge it. Sometimes when the path bends you can’t even see the upcoming obstacles, so you’ll have to memorize the pre-made levels by heart. I shall hunt for achievements a bit, but I curse the devs already, Im so bored..

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron’s Workshop

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron’s Workshop

Game is awesome,

at first it seems to be too easy, but the focus here lies clearly on score-hunting, there are enough incentives to reward the player properly for high scores. Is the score high enoug you become rated with stars, depending on the rating you unlock achievments, music and editor parts.

This also means that playing the game just normally, won’t satisfy the urge for challenge, that’s important to notice, if you die merely your score resets and the progress in the current room, which isn’t much. If you die three times in a row on the same room you can make yourself invincible, which is a bit too much in my opinion, but at the same time, it’s just there for completing the short main campaign, after you’ve been through it, there is a much harder campaign which is hard enough that it might be even interesting to play if you not play for scores, in these levels the invincibility option is turned off. It took me some time and was pretty hard, but earning thhree stars in the hard versions is highly satisfying.

I’d like to applaud Taito for standing behind their product and fixing the major bugs the game had that originally prevented me from recommending this title… but it’s still not perfect for the current price point. While it no longer has any game breaking issues, the main Story levels still lack the visual charm of the original Bubble Bobble (which thankfully works great now and is also included via the “Arcade of Memories”) in regards to enemy designs and block skins; proving that new doesn’t always equal better.

Definitely Sneaky But Not Sneaky

great game. totally worth the price. weapons feel good, tons of levels and a hoard mode, and it gets 100x better with friends. my only complaints are the lack of vsync (on linux at least, idk if the windows version has it) and I feel like the weapons system could have been pushed a bit further. I would like to see some more utilities like temporary invisibility or a dash/speed boost. A chainsaw would be cool too. I give a 9/10 considering the price.

I consider myself to be a social gamer, meaning I often don’t gravitate towards games that aren’t specifically made for multiplayer; however a friend of mine wouldn’t stop recommending Definitely Sneaky But Not Sneaky, and now I’m so glad he did. My expectations were surpassed to say the least, and I absolutely loved the Co-op aspect of it, because of how valuable teamwork can be, and how the action of “Accidentally” shooting my own teammate was never met with frustration, rather a seemingly endless hilarity that eventually became part of the game when me and my brother played together.

Doughlings: Arcade

Doughlings: Arcade

As far as Arkanoid types go I’m giving this one the highest honors. Doughlings Arcade just doesn’t use capsules or what not to change the behavior of the ball but requires our protagonist Morpheus to morph into a super-hero type. Only then upon collecting the requisite amount of thumbs-up so to speak can you then activate the super hero power of the current super hero.

Doughlings Arcade doesn’t use blocks but Doughlings, Doughlings of different colors imply a certain state of distress and by hitting them you are essentially healing them thereby reducing their stress levels and changing their color. Blue Doughlings are one level above a fully healed Doughling so that when you hit the Blue Doughlings you’ve healed them.

Trackmania® Turbo

Trackmania® Turbo

When I first reviewed this game I was a bit “hot headed” because even though I knew this game was a console port, I didn’t expect it to lack so many features from the previous games. But after playing it so much I decided to change my review.

Why should you buy this game? (This is mostly aimed to new players to the Trackmania series)

-First and foremost, the game is really fun

-New Double Driver mode

-New Stunt mode

-You can create challenges and publish them for the world to see

-As an arcade game, Turbo is really easy for anyone to get into it and have fun, but its gameplay also has depth, so the possibilities are almost infinity and it will take you a long time to master the gameplay of each environment

Real player with 274.1 hrs in game

Trackmania Turbo is fun, I’ll keep it that simple. But there’s something that needs to be made clear:

This game is not made for creative players who enjoy getting the best out of trackmania. This game is made for the more casual side of players who want nothing more than pure gameplay. If you want a larger range of customization (car, map and replay-wise), more community focused events on anything Trackmania, you should get (one of) the individual trackmania² environments, or Trackmania Nations/United. If you’re here for racing on all environments into one, simply beating times and having a mere joy on several maps. This game might be the one for you.

Kid Hallow

Kid Hallow

Like other Hamumu games, Kid Hallow takes a strong core idea (swapping costumes for different abilities) and provides a unique style and complexity that allows for endless variation. Kid Hallow has a simple premise, but it packs in a heap of twists and quirks that elevate it beyond a standard platformer. The levels range from quick and easy to insanely challenging, and the variety between each one keeps you on your toes. Highly recommended if you like arcade style, rapid-fire platforming filled with puzzles, action, bullet dodging, and bodzhas.

Even better than it was when it first came out in 2008 but this includes all the DLC packs for a LOT cheaper!

Lots of hours of game-play with more levels being created all the time!

Hamumu always puts out great games and I’m still playing them 20 years later!

Krakout challenge

Krakout challenge

Welcome to the ultimate Challenge! Brick breaker games never were so exciting, fun and challenging.

The game where you can improve your reaction and creativity. “Krakout challenge” is not a simple game where you do not need to think and must wait for random bonuses. Every level covers self bonuses, a self tactic to go through. During the first time, it can be a little bit challenging, but I hope you like challenges and complete all 300 levels and we will see your records on the top of the leaderboard.

The game has an integrated level editor. So you do not need to play just in-game levels. You can use your creativity, make level-sets and share them with friends and compete: who beats you level-set faster or collect more points.

This game is multiplatform and can be played on many platforms such as PC , Mac, Linux or mobile devices. You can create a level set and share with friends no matter on which platform your friend play this game.

Key Features

  • Arcade Cabinet Style and Pixel Art Graphic;

  • arcade mode with 3 level sets ( 300 levels) up to 7 hours of gameplay (if you are lucky or very skilled).

  • integrated level editor;

  • levels can be exchanged with Steam friends or via a local network. And no matter on which platform play your friend;

  • many types of blocks (simple, unbreakable, multi-hittable, cloneable, movable, time …);

  • many types of aliens and helpers (include ball eater :) );

  • supports global Steam achievements and leader board;

  • stop and continue to play any time you want.

So, if you like brick breaker type games, you will do not miss this game.

If you have never tried brick breaker type games, you will try and I think you do not disappoint.

Stealthscape

Stealthscape

Stealthscape is an absolutely amazing game made by a very passionate developer. It’s extremely addicting, as it’s fast-paced frantic action has always left me wanting more. The game’s story is intriguing, and the customization system allows you to trick out your ship with a ton of cool options. I’ve witnessed the entire game’s development up to this point, and I know Carson will achieve all the early access plans and continue to create something truly special!

Real player with 30.8 hrs in game

Disclaimer: I am friends with the developer of this game, I will still try to be as neutral as possible.

StealthScape is a simplistic top-down fast paced game where you try to go to the finish potal as quickly as you can while avoiding obstacles. You can also collect points that buy you some more time. I had much fun while playing the pre-packed levels, however I think the best fun came from creating my own wacky levels and letting other people play them. It gives me the same sensation Super Mario Maker gave me but with a completely different gameplay and with much more advanced tools like light-scripting with If/Else/And/Xor/Timer blocks. While I was a bit turned off by the floaty movement at first, I was able to pretty easily work with it after a few hours. It definitely feels good the way it is and gives the spaceship a certain weight! The developer is very caring and tries their best to deliver a fun experience for anyone who wants to create but also play levels around the world. There’s a lot of content and a lot of time you can put in this game.
