Merge Chess

Merge Chess is a brand new approach to Chess! Blending the strategy of the ancient game of Chess with simple puzzle game mechanics.

Use the mouse, keyboard of game pad to shift the board pieces in any direction. Same pieces of opposite colours that touch will be merged.

Keep merging to take more and more pieces, progressing from Pawn to King. A new piece will spawn every time you move without merging. Be careful not to fill up the board with pieces! The aim of the game is to be left with only one King in the shortest possible number of moves.

Catch’em

Catch’em

Lucky me gets to write the first review of Catch’em, which is a 2D retro pixel fishing simulator/clicker game. Gameplay consists of clicking on the screen a lot to make it seem like you’re fishing, so basically what you would expect from a crapware mobile screen tapper game, but for some reason, inflicted on PC gamers instead, via the wonderful DailyIndieGame shovelware bundles.

I don’t know if this is an asset flip or a template flip, I never saw this one before, but it’s garbage anyway. 2D retro pixel “art” used instead of proper graphics, locked resolution, low resolution (jaggies everywhere), terrible attempt at “gameplay”.

VR Basketball Hoops

VR Basketball Hoops

‘VR Basketball Hoops’ is pretty much what you are probably expecting it to be. It’s a hoop scoring game in which you get to pick one of 5 locations (Classic basketball court, space, Beach, Pyramid and a Night Club) and you can play 3 kinds of modes on each of them: Arcade (classic score hoops until you are board, but the basket keeps teleporting about the arena after each shot), Timeline (a set amount of time to score as many as you can) and moving which of course sees the basket hoop constantly moving back and forth. . There is nothing much wrong with this game and nothing right with it as well. Yes, it looks OK and has some fun environment, but it’s too hard, it’s full of bugs and there are far better basketball games out there most of which are for free. It’s worth a look for something silly to play for 5 minutes I suppose, but you just about get what you pay for here which is not a lot. Once again I do wish I could give this a natural rating, but it just about works and is too cheap to give it the thumbs down on.

Faster Than Possible

Faster Than Possible

This game is seriously just a masterpiece. It felt similar to playing a live version of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules or just watching Holes (2003) for the first time. Most fun I’ve had in a while, plus I 100%’d it (steam please make it visible on my account)

Matrix Blocks

Very fun game, start a little slow, good for kids and training ;) but after some levels the fun starts, I liked the shape that make you turn and move your arm and body. I suggest to developer to include new peaces formats for the next levels and custom songs, but it’s nice I recommend it

garbage game not worth the money

I didn’t know what to expect when I came into the game, but I was expecting more than what I got. Trying to be as spoiler free as I can, this game plays more like an epilogue to the original story rather than a full on game itself and leaves a lot to be desired. On my first try, no help whatsoever, I played the game for 3 hours and finished it with a full score.

Unlike the original where you have the option to try three routes to get to your destination, this one has a single route to take and up until then, you really don’t have a lot of “hidden” points or tasks to complete. It’s possible that there’s a side quest that’s optional to complete, but since I haven’t experimented I don’t know if it can be skipped or not. If it can be skipped, it plays more like it’s just for the good feeling of the player and not really for the benefit of the story. I had found a single object that I never found a use for so I believe that it’s optional but it’s not valuable nor does it do anything for the story so it doesn’t have any reason to be there. This is NOT to say that there are NO optional points in the game, I found a few that were undoubtedly optional to the story.

Army Men

This is probably the most precious hidden gem in steam store. You get a super cheap price (or free if you download from their main site) for a massive gameplay content with potential to be even more in future. Map is completely free-roam you can hook or jetpack your way onto anything, build anywhere, place any soldier or vehicle everywhere, drive or enter any emplacement or vehicle, even a mega robot. Personally fight the war in a front line or act as a commander and use map feature to command your troop in basic RTS style. Furthermore they have included toybox mode which basically allow you to create your own map and adding any little props or detail however you want, giving an unlimited idea to expand replayability map with community help via workshop feature.

This is a fun game to play. I hope to see more content later on, in the future. Maybe a terrain manipulator tool would be a good idea, so we can be more creative. I Also hope to see some game logic tools as well. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to implement, a player level pallet, so when the player completes a level, it go’s on to the next level, that the player has made. More map props i think are needed. A much needed level variety I think would be good. In the map maker, I think it would be nice to have a clear all option, instead of individually deleting every map prop. I think the camera needs to be fixed, when going into buildings, makes it hard to give commands to units when the camera floats into the ceiling. It would be nice to be able to spawn unites inside on buildings, instead of spawning them out side of the building, then having them follow you inside, then having to fight with the player’s camera. But over all the game is very fun, it brought back childhood memories, like Army men 3D, Army men world war, Army men air sea land, Army men RTS, Army men Sarge’s Heros 1, and 2.
