Guardians of Hyelore
I’ve had the pleasure of testing this game in and out during the beta. At the highest level of difficulty this game provides quite the challenge and I’ve enjoyed all 45 hours that I’ve spent playing the game!
Cute graphics
Hard challenge
Good replayability
As a side note, this game is a solo indie dev’s first project ever, so he earns my total respect for that! Can’t wait to see what’s in store next!

This review is further detailed in the video below.
Guardians of Hyelore is a diamond in a rough for those that enjoy the defense style of games. I am impressed by the amount of progression options and the amount of work that went into this. For the right price this is easily a day 1 buy for me.

Scrapshoot
Scrapshoot is the true definition of a party game. While the AI is fun to battle against the game becomes a blast when you get your friends involved. I think this is the kind of game you hop on occasionally and end up sinking hours of fun into it. Super easy to learn, a variety of hat options, and the unique match modifiers offer a lot in variation of gameplay from round to round.
Don’t let this game go under your radar! I’d give it 9 scraps out of 10; super excited to see what the devs whip up in future updates!

Sky Fleet
Welcome to Sky Fleet! You and your fellow recruits have been selected to take to the air in our latest and greatest military invention: the combat blimp. Our sacred floating islands are under siege from a vast fleet of rogue drones. Your mission is simple, recruit:
Take your blimp, go up there, and start blastin’ before it really balloons into an all-out war!
You won’t fight alone. Our engineers will follow your blimp force into the clouds, to establish a bridgehead against the drone menace and protect the ecosystem of our floating legacy.
-
Lead our forces into the skies and secure the floating islands before drones arrive!
-
Build extractors to collect resources, power generators to keep everything running, and farms to keep the pilotsunder your command fed!
-
Prepare for the inevitable assault! From the drones! The sky drones! DRONES!
The enemy will not stand, er, float idly by. These islands carry a wealth of resources that will supercharge the enemy drone production. We can’t let that happen!
-
Defend your mining operations with turrets, lots and lots of turrets.
-
Gather uridium from the wreckage to bolster the bridgehead and expand it.
-
Defend the islands and ensure precious duraphyte does not wind up in enemy hands. Tentacles. Appendages? They have tentacles btw.
Once your team’s blimps are bristling with lethal weapons, take the fight to the enemy. Destroy them all and let the scrappers sort them out!
-
Upgrade your blimp and put the fear of blue-screens in those dastardly drones.
-
Push back the enemy with your team back to their base where they belong.
-
Ensure a swift and definitive victory by taking down their base to eliminate the drone threat once and for all!
OTTTD
From my Hooked Gamers review
Tower Defence games are fairly popular. Games like Plants vs. Zombies have bought Tower Defence games into the mainstream. They are normally simple to play, easy to understand and can be played in short bursts. I do like tower defence games, but mostly as a mobile gaming fix. They are perfect games to play during my daily commutes. When the PC version of OTTTD (also known as Over the Top Tower Defence) turned up at our office, I was somewhat intrigued as to what made it ‘over the top’.

Grade = A. Worth a buy, if you enjoy testing new tactics in diverse maps. However, if you not able to accept mobile phone graphic, don’t buy it

Control Craft 3
Great little RTS in the same mode as Mushroom Wars, Galcon etc. And a superb follow-up to Control Craft 2.
There’s been quite a few negative reviews - so I’m writing this one on the basis of the latest patch. A new dev has taken ownership, and has been very active:
-
24 new maps (from CC2 - but they play very different in this game, so even if you breeze through CC2, you’ll find this a much harder task to complete)
-
new equipment (when I can upgrade, I suspect it will make the 24 new maps a bit easier going)

Control Craft 3 is a mobile app that’s been dumped on Steam as a lazy cash grab. It’s the third in a series of ultra simple “numbers” game where you drag your soldiers into towers and eventually get more numbers than the enemy and swarm their towers. The interface is ultra minimalistic. The game is a ripoff of many much older games like Galcom, and the gameplay is unchanged.
This is a PC port of an Apple app store game with banner ads and everything. In game advertising is a complete insult to gamers everywhere. There’s no fullscreen and you can play the game for free on the web, but without the ads. How can I recommend paying for this when it’s free on the web?

Manual Intervention VR
While it has to be said that ‘Manual Intervention VR’ is little more than a modern-day asteroid clone I still found myself enjoying it. There is a certain playability about it even if those interactions are basic at best. The controls are pretty basic as well, one controller to aim ad fire the missiles and the other to spin/rotate the planet. I have to say rotating it too fast does lead to a touch of nausea, but nothing too bad. Sure, the graphics are adequate at best, but what do you want for just £2.09? For that price, you get a pretty good arcade-style game that retro fans will love and there is even a touch of the anime graphical novel thrown in for good measure. While not exactly original it’s still pretty great fun for a cheap price.

Attack on Toys
Army Men
This is probably the most precious hidden gem in steam store. You get a super cheap price (or free if you download from their main site) for a massive gameplay content with potential to be even more in future. Map is completely free-roam you can hook or jetpack your way onto anything, build anywhere, place any soldier or vehicle everywhere, drive or enter any emplacement or vehicle, even a mega robot. Personally fight the war in a front line or act as a commander and use map feature to command your troop in basic RTS style. Furthermore they have included toybox mode which basically allow you to create your own map and adding any little props or detail however you want, giving an unlimited idea to expand replayability map with community help via workshop feature.

This is a fun game to play. I hope to see more content later on, in the future. Maybe a terrain manipulator tool would be a good idea, so we can be more creative. I Also hope to see some game logic tools as well. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to implement, a player level pallet, so when the player completes a level, it go’s on to the next level, that the player has made. More map props i think are needed. A much needed level variety I think would be good. In the map maker, I think it would be nice to have a clear all option, instead of individually deleting every map prop. I think the camera needs to be fixed, when going into buildings, makes it hard to give commands to units when the camera floats into the ceiling. It would be nice to be able to spawn unites inside on buildings, instead of spawning them out side of the building, then having them follow you inside, then having to fight with the player’s camera. But over all the game is very fun, it brought back childhood memories, like Army men 3D, Army men world war, Army men air sea land, Army men RTS, Army men Sarge’s Heros 1, and 2.
