Space Debris
This is a great party game for rock-blasting retro space fun. I love the drop in/drop out feature and the massive number of gamepads supported.
There’s also a bit more to it than you might expect:
Several ships to choose from, each with their own unique style
Bring dead allies back to life
Collect space dust to power up
Collect debris from destroyed alien ships to unlock new ships and upgrades
Play it now! you know you want to.

Whizz Ball
A friend recommended Whizz Ball to me as a good party game, and we have had a lot of fun playing with 4 players. Using the after touch feature to redirect the ball towards other players creates a great sense of competitive fun. Single player is still a challenge, but playing against friends is really what it’s about, even if it’s you and one other.
Good selection of powerups, although they might need a bit more balancing, but these can be turned off in the options. Also came across a couple of minor issues but nothing game breaking, which is fine by me.

At time of review (Aug 2020) this is currently early access. I’m really enjoying the concept and the style but at the moment there is a significant playability issue. Each player simply has too little to control. You can only move your bat in a very short range above your blocks (essentially three positions). Sometimes you can redirect the ball in flight (the rules on this are a little unclear) and sometimes you can shoot. Most of the time is spent watching the ball bounce around and waiting often for quite a long time before it hits you.

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron’s Workshop
Game is awesome,
at first it seems to be too easy, but the focus here lies clearly on score-hunting, there are enough incentives to reward the player properly for high scores. Is the score high enoug you become rated with stars, depending on the rating you unlock achievments, music and editor parts.
This also means that playing the game just normally, won’t satisfy the urge for challenge, that’s important to notice, if you die merely your score resets and the progress in the current room, which isn’t much. If you die three times in a row on the same room you can make yourself invincible, which is a bit too much in my opinion, but at the same time, it’s just there for completing the short main campaign, after you’ve been through it, there is a much harder campaign which is hard enough that it might be even interesting to play if you not play for scores, in these levels the invincibility option is turned off. It took me some time and was pretty hard, but earning thhree stars in the hard versions is highly satisfying.

I’d like to applaud Taito for standing behind their product and fixing the major bugs the game had that originally prevented me from recommending this title… but it’s still not perfect for the current price point. While it no longer has any game breaking issues, the main Story levels still lack the visual charm of the original Bubble Bobble (which thankfully works great now and is also included via the “Arcade of Memories”) in regards to enemy designs and block skins; proving that new doesn’t always equal better.

Knight Squad
So I will start by saying this I bought this game while ago when It was on sale, and I have to say this game has far exceeded my expectation, and as a testimate I think I have a little over 30 hours logged in the game. There are a few bugs admittedly, but none that hinder the gameplay in anyway as far as I could tell. The game has a variety of gamemodes meaning you can keep the fun going for hours, and especially with friends no game is ever the same.
The single player challenged are difficult but not impossible. And I feel as though they have provided a difficult yet enjoyable challenge, and even on easy the higher level challenges require patience, and well timed strike before the enemy returns fire. I especially had trouble with the attack pattersn of the cell/plantdragon hybird challenge. There is hours upon hours of content here even with no friends, as the bots in certain games can easily compete and overwhelm the players.

Knight squad is a simple, top view, competitive combat game.
At its intitial release it already felt like a complete game, and yet I have yet to play an early access game with as much content released as frequently as knight squad.
The combat is simple, all buttons do the same thing, attack. There are, however, various weapons and powerups that spawn.
Knight Squad has a large range of game modes.
all vs all modes include:
-
Last man standing
-
A mode where points are aquired by staying alive in a central arena, and killing other players

Its a tidy little game with a lot of fun challenging content, for the price there’s no reason not to pick it up and give it a go.

Been waiting ages for this game to be released and now it’s here!
Great game, with endless hours of fun. Perfect for sticking on with a couple of mates around, or, sinking a few hours in on your own, trying to get those high scores!
Would definitely recommend giving it a download. Congrats to the developers!

I’m not gonna talk about the game mechanics and what It’s about - there are multiple reviews for it (or watch some videos)
I will only say this:
-
It has a cross platform (PC, Xbox and Switch)
-
Only the host most own the game (other players will download “Knight Squad 2 Trials”)
-
the game is REALLY cheap for what it offers (I thought it will cost like 25 €)
-
There are no microtransactions - You have 8 knights at the start - all other knights you will unlock though challenges
-
Everything that Knight Squad 1 was bad about - This game fixed it (at least for me)

Last Shape Standing
Last Shape Standing is at its core a survival game where each player needs to survive through a multitude of chaotic and fun randomly selected challenges, be it bullet hell, PVP, a zombie apocalypse or even dangerous quizzes!
Playable alone or up to four players, quickly join in for a short casual game, and tweak the settings to play the way you want:
Don’t like a rule? Remove it!
Want more health or skip the rule description? Why not!
Keep playing to earn currency and survive as long a possible to unlock new rules.
Be the Last Shape Standing and show who’s best!
Manic Archers
One of the best party games I’ve played! Unique, the artstyle is pure nostalgia, and the gameplay is just hilarious/random. This is a great party game, and love it’s Steam Co-Op compatible.

Well, first: you really do need a controller in order to play, it won’t work with mouse and keyboard. But even if it did, you’d still want a controller, I’d say. So now I probably need to buy a better controller for this…
The game has an awesome retro vibe, especially the music. The title doesn’t disappoint: the gameplay is frantic. You’re an archer, jumping around, shooting enemies, dodging projectiles, potentially hitting yourself while trying to get rid of the waves of enemies spawning. Fortunately your ammunition is also constantly spawning in random locations, because you need to keep supplied. And what an arsenal you can collect. It reminds me of the loadout of worms or xenon 2: absolutely ridiculously overpowered.

Mulligans Golf Game
Mulligans Golf Game is a Local Multiplayer (split screen), wacky, arcade golfing game. Gameplay is a combination of open world freedom and old school console split screen arcade style play surrounding a simplified yet challenging golfing experience. It is not a Sim but is designed to provide the scenarios and emotions that come when playing real golf. Players choose from the available pool of legendary characters and pre-built maps, playing solo, attempting to set new personal bests, going for course records (local and global leaderboards), or grabbing some friends and challenging each other to see who is the best!
What is there to do?
Play local matches competing against yourself. Personal Records (per character) and Local Leaderboards (per map) are maintained. Global Steam leaderboards are also implemented so you can compete against others for the top spot!
Local Multiplayer has up to 4 players with Steam’s Remote Play enabled. So if you don’t have someone local to play against, invite a friend over the airwaves! Play matches against each other and make in game wagers on who is going to do better (long drives, closes to the pin, and best score). Also, checkout the driving range for a few different game modes and see who can get the better score. Or just run around throwing golf balls at one another.
Taking a Swing
As a player, you are given all the tools you need, but must make the decision on what kind of shot (normal, punch, flop, chip), how to shape it (fade, straight, draw), and how hard to hit it. The game will not tell you any more than recommending a club to use. So lineup and take a few practice swings to determine your plan of attack. Practice swings will update the estimated shot trajectory, allowing you to determine if your current approach is going to work. Then it is up to you to replicate your practice swing once addressing the ball. And if you mess it up, hopefully you have one of your Mulligans available to redo it.
Current features include:
-
Preset Legendary Characters
-
Pre-built maps
-
Stroke and Skin match play
-
Wagers
-
Driving Range and Practice Greens for improvement (map specific)
-
Local Leaderboards, Character PBs (per course), Global Steam Leaderboards.
